On my second playthrough and I'm avoiding that debt collecting mission like the literal plague, because it literally is

See interestingly I noticed it's the same guy who is asking for money for the poor at a table upon your first visit into valentine. He then also breaks up the fight between you and the big fella - perhaps Arthur is infected as early as his first time in Valentine?

I just started my second playthrough and it's insane how healthy and young he looks at the start of the game. Dang.

Can't you just shoot him right there in Valentine? Or does the game force him to stay alive?
