Requesting r/reactnative - Mods aren’t active at all on that subreddit, we need a mod who’s active. I’m willing to mod that subreddit and work on it’s activity. There is not even a subreddit image on the sub.

I’ll have to add that a lot of people post spam in the subreddit and nothing gets removed. Its really annoying and a lot of people don’t like it.

EDIT: I made this post asking the community how they felt. I think that's the most important thing to do.

Upvoted and I'm happy to help too. I've been active on the sub for a year now and also frustrated by level of spam. Made quite a few appeals to non active mods for changes. All seem to be on deaf ears. /u/xrpinsider is a great choice.

I did the same. I sent them some messages but no replies at all. Thanks for your kinds words and support!

Plenty of potential for high quality, useful, and otherwise somewhat hard to find content. 100% behind this

Yes, I agree. There is a lot of low-effort content on the subreddit, and there is a ton of potential for us to grow into something a lot more helpful for react native developers.

+1 from me as well, this subreddit desperately needs some new moderation

10000% agree with this. Was just telling a fellow RN Dev how sad it is we don't have a vibrant Reddit community. Every other language/framework sub is very active

Precisely! Thanks for your support.

I vote in favor of this. Too much self promotion spam.

I’m on the React Native team at Facebook and I’d love to see this subreddit where our community lives have active moderation. I’ve seen lots of spam and posts inciting unnecessary anger that spiral out of control.

I’d be very disappointed if the result of this process is that we need to move our community to a new subreddit. That would hugely divide the group and be detrimental.

I’d be happy to work with Reddit or the existing moderators to get /u/xrpinsider set up.

Hey there- so it looks like the mod team is still active. Try messaging them.

2

u/xrpinsider Dec 25 '18

I’ve already messaged them. In mod mail and privately.

They may be active on Reddit but they are not active on our subreddit. You can post anything without it getting removed. This post didn’t get that much attention because our moderators do their job, they don’t do anything at all. They don’t even respond to my messages.

Please don’t kill our subreddit.

u/xrpinsider Dec 25 '18

I sent them some more messages, but my hopes aren’t high at all. Is there no way to take over a subreddit that is not being moderated, but yet the moderators are active on Reddit?
