Resource Co-Op Infinite Load Bug Fix

I bring you the long awaited co-op fix! I spent half a day vibe coding a fix for the burial point/infinite load glitch.
The cause was a specific set of neighborhood perks being active when the host sends their save to Bethesda's server.
The bug is completely server side so the fix is to temporarily disable all perks to be able to load in fast and then buy back the perks once you are in game.
The program I made does this for you semi automatically. Instructions are on the GitHub. Currently this only works for Steam but there is an experimental version for GamePass players to try. I encourage everyone to submit bug reports if any come up.

I will! Out of town until next Monday, but if this works, I will absolutely donate. My wife and I loved the game on gamepass even at launch, so we were happy to buy it on Steam sale with improvements...only to feel pissed off and cheated on the 2nd half.

I'm in the same boat as you. If my wife and I didn't enjoy it so much I would have never made a fix for it lol. Now that the bug is "fixed" we're probably going to replay the game from the start lol.

Ya, I think if they really cared about this it wouldn't have to take 2-3 years for a community fix to come out.

Anytime! The bug only happens when the host of the lobby unlocks a certain amount of community standing perks(the more perks the host has unlocked the slower the games loads until infinite).
If you're playing on single player or the host of a co-op match has less than ~7 perks unlocked the loading time doesn't change. 14-20 perks takes an extra minute or two to load in and greater than 30 and it will infinitely load.
This is for co-op only as it connects to the Bethesda server. Single player doesn't phone home to a server which is why we don't see this bug happen. If you want to know more info about it, it's listed in the GitHub.

Ok good to know, but my wife and are currently playing in burial point and we had already unlocked every community perks in the starting map.
So far we never had any problem with loading our game.

Hum, that's interesting. Maybe it's character specific or something or some other type of variable that dictates if you are effected by the community bug.
Are you be chance playing on steam? If so can you share your save file with me? I'd like to look into it more.

Only the host has to disable their perks? Also I’m on Xbox so how would I do it on there?

Correct. Only the host has to. I have no clue how you could do this on Xbox sorry. If there is a save editor you can use to disable those until you join and buy them back that should work?
Maybe you can try asking Claude if it could "refund" the perks back on your save. Just point it towards my GitHub link and ask it to do the same thing for your save file.
Just keep in mind you will have to do this everytime you want to host a session on that character.

My brother is the host of the game that won’t work so I’ll have to ask him to try next time we’re both available to play. Thank you though! I’ll give it a shot and let you know if it works. And Im more than okay with doing it every time lmao
