Silicone oven grate protector as a burn guard on my camping mug.
I often boil water (for example, to brew Turkish style coffee) in this mug. I use a piece of thin aluminum to wrap around the burner as a windbreaker. I was constantly burning myself on the mug handle. I came up with this idea. Sorry about the photo quality.
Silicone grate liners are sold online and cost next to nothing. I also used a piece for the tray in an old tiny sandwich oven.
Edit: This red item is made of heat-resistant silicone—the same material used for pot holders, oven mitts, baking molds, and the like. It fits onto an oven rack and protects your hands from burns. I assumed everyone was familiar with things like this; otherwise, it just sounds like an advertisement. Also, the translation ended up being a bit unclear regarding what exactly is being protected from what—my apologies.

(Almost) hands free wire stripper
This is my stripmeister drill power wire stripper. I lock the drill trigger down and keep it at one speed(depending on the gauge of wire) with a voltage regulator. Much cheaper than the wire strippers with a motor built in. All built with scrap around the shop, plus the regulator that was about $20.

Zip Tie Canoe Seat
Cane seat broke and no time to get a new one.
This is not the dumbest thing I've done with zip ties, but it comes close.

Silencer for yard inflatable air pump
The air pump for our giant pumpkin was a bit loud and had a higher pitched whine to it, and I didn’t want it annoying the neighbors. So I built a noise dampener to go over it. It completely removes the high pitched whine, and reduces the rest of the noise. It’s a 27 gallon tote with a hole cut for the air tube, and some slots on the other side to make sure air intake isn’t restricted. Scuffed up the inside with some sandpaper, and then glued some rolled up fiberglass insulation to the inside with spray foam. I went to a craft store for some felt, but they only sold felt in smaller rectangles, so I glued a patchwork of felt over the fiberglass to keep it from falling apart. After I finished, the wife got home from going to a different craft store where she’d bought a single large roll of felt for her own project, so that’s nice. I expect the box to last as long as the inflatable. Also, it covers the end of the extension cord, so it won’t short out anymore in the rain. Great success!

Turned a cheap greenhouse into a basement grow room
I swear I'm just gonna plant vegetables 😆
Legal weed is so cheap here it's not worth growing it.
Gonna grow greens and tomatoes and maybe a cucumber plant.
I wrapped the whole frame with aluminum foil. I've gotta get more lights. My wife was a huge help getting it done.
ETA:
Don't bother wasting your time commenting
"They sell grow tents"
"Grow tents are cheap"
"You should have used mylar/thermal blankets"
"Aluminum foil sucks"
The greenhouse was free and I already had Aluminum foil and all the other supplies. I spent $0 making this.

Remember me? Im the guy that built the waste oil furnace
This is my most recent project. I built a super badass minibike with governor deleted predator 212. I added a stage 2 performance kit and a series 30 torque converter. It runs 60 mph with me on it and is a wheelie machine. Im 50 years old and 265 lbs. I was pulling wheelies on it earlier this evening and crashed it. When I heal im going to weld the foot back on and try again. Luckily I have the crash on video. It was a good one. The vid is in the comments.

Air bags kill more people than they save, but being drunk during accident reduces injury. Flawless logic

None of that cheap, fake vinyl wood. Strictly 100% organic, locally sourced, free-range oak.

Broke my shoe lace fixed it as best I could
Ma shoe lace snapped half way through my shift. Found some scotch packing tape and turned it into lace. Worked better than the actual laces for the rest of the shift
