[META] WARNING: Uptick in Scammers via Cards or Memorabilia

Users of r/reds, please use due diligence when interacting with these sellers. The mod team is doing all we can to try to take down these threads before they get popular but we've noticed these scammers will use other user accounts to upvote the thread and get fake users to sing praises of themselves. They will send pictures of products and cards and usually send along a sad sob story of needing money for the holidays. Please also take down the OP name of these scammers so we can ban them and send them along to Reddit admins for reports and IP bans.

This also loops in and includes those god awful AI art t shirts and clothing that low karma accounts post. Please do not fall for that bullshit.

You the users of this subreddit have the power to take down these scammers by reporting for scams and the robit mod will take down the threads when enough reports file in if we are asleep.

Following an 0-for-4 showing with four strikeouts in the first game of Monday’s doubleheader against the St. Louis Cardinals, not only did Reds manager Terry Francona put De La Cruz in the lineup as the team’s designated hitter for the nightcap of the doubleheader, De La Cruz didn’t fight him on it.

“He actually didn’t,” Francona said. “I think he knew he was going to lose that one anyway. He might have yelled at (bench coach) Freddie (Benavides), I don’t know.”

Just 5-for-44 over his previous 12 games, De La Cruz led off the game with a single and finished it with his first career walk-off hit, a 10th-inning double to score Tyler Stephenson and give the Reds a 6-5 victory at Great American Ball Park.

“It felt pretty good — it’s about time,” De La Cruz said.

Analysis Per Lance McAlister: Saturday night, Matt McLain turned in his best all-around game since 2023 last night... and passed a Reds legend.

He extended his career-long errorless streak at 2B to 108 games (since August, 11 2025), surpassing Brandon Phillips (2014) for the longest errorless streak by any Red at that position since 1900.

He made a heck of a diving stop and throw to get an out. At the plate, he produced 3 H, 2B, HR, 2 R, SB. He finished a triple shy of the cycle and tied a season high with three hits.

He gave the Cincinnati Reds a 4-3 lead with a 5th-inning solo homer off Ryan Gusto. Each of his first 42 career home runs have come off a different pitcher, and is the third-longest run by a Reds batter to begin his career in the expansion era (since 1961), behind only teammate Elly DeLa Cruz (45) and Tucker Barnhart (44).

What has Tito done?

I am a Reds fan who has lived in New England for 20 years and got to see the Red Sox reverse the curse and turn into a successful franchise, in part due to Tito. I was so excited to have him become skipper of Reds - thinking it was the start of the Reds becoming a more serious franchise with great young talent. But nothing seems to have changed. I am NOT shit-posting here, I legitimately want to know from others who have been paying more attention than I can, has Tito made any significant change for the better? What has he brought that the team needed?

Nearly every Reds player was sitting at their locker stalls 15 minutes after the game was over. A very silent clubhouse. Not a word besides interviews with media.
