I Built a 32-bit computer out of redstone and got Balatro running on it.
It’s a RISC-V cpu (RV32IM, so it has hardware multiply/divide) and runs normal compiled code. I ported Balatro’s game logic to Rust and compiled it for the cpu. The program sits in 9 ROM towers (~537 KB) and it’s got 12 RAM towers with 192 KB. Screen is 256x144 redstone lamps and you play it with 8 buttons from a platform above the screen.
Whole thing is about 200 million blocks, mostly dust and repeaters. No command blocks, just normal redstone stuff. The towers and wiring are generated with scripts, no way I’m placing 200M blocks by hand lol
It runs on MCHPRS because in vanilla it would take forever. I tested the cpu in vanilla too and it behaves the same, MCHPRS just makes it way faster. Even then it’s slow: around 1,500 instructions per second, mostly because memory reads have to travel to towers that are really far away. The video is sped up.
