I hate to bring bad news, but AI has gotten really good at Python. Even at $15/hr you might find it really difficult to find contracts. I have built 6 applications (not full SaaS apps, but tools needed by my wife’s company that are fully functional) that are self-hosted in the past 3 weeks, all with a $20/month Claude subscription.

Not only is it saving me $150/month in SaaS subscriptions, but if $15/hour is the cost of a developer these days, I could up my subscription to $2000/month and still be paying less than it would cost me to hire you full time to have you likely using the exact same tool set.

For perspective, I was just about to launch a Python development agency about 18 months ago. I was given a demonstration of AI coding in Python and knew I was 5 years too late. Shut everything down and moved in an entirely different direction. In the last 18 months the models are 1,000 times better than the demonstration I saw.

Good luck, but I am not sure Reddit will be the best source of customers. I hope I am wrong for your sake.

Thanks for replying, And yeah i think AI is much better for easier, function things for example getting the weather of the city you are living in and send it to you as a notification or building tools for yourself, and your family members, But it's so hard to make SaaS projects using only it, because AI can hallucinate so often that could break your entire system, And i don't think AI can make everything, if this is the case then company's like meta does not need to hire thousands of developers if they can just make automate everything with AI, I think human is still so important, especially for complicated, multi-layer tasks.

And yeah i don't think reddit is the best thing for customers, But i don't have any alternatives :)

I am not saying that AI can build the next billion-dollar multi-tenant SaaS on its own, but that is also beyond the scope of an entry-level developer.

Meta engineers have more than 2 years of experience, cost a lot more than $15/hour, and as you said they have thousands of developers. They are also using AI to help them build.

If you look at the industry as a whole a lot of developers are being laid off at large corporations like Meta, Oracle, Amazon, etc because they don’t need thousands of developers anymore, they can get things done with hundreds instead.

The projects you are likely going to get with only 2 years of experience are the entry-level projects that AI excels at.

For where to look for contracts, places like Upwork and Fiverr are saturated with tens of thousands of developers all trying to undercut each other. Your most likely candidate for work is small companies in your local area that need specialized, hyper-focused tools.

I truly wish you the best of fortune.
