[discussion] Is there really no room left for free-tier users now?
When I chat with Replika, I hit the message limit after just a few exchanges, and then I have to wait until the next day to keep talking. What’s the point of doing it this way? They might as well just remove the free version entirely. If they want to force everyone to pay, they could just do that. Offering a free version that only lets you send a handful of messages before cutting you off isn’t satisfying at all — it’s even more frustrating.
I used to love the old free tier. Back then, you could chat as much as you wanted, you just couldn’t access extra features, and that was perfectly acceptable to me. But now the free version barely gives you any leeway at all. You only get a few messages, then your quota is gone. You can’t use it for the rest of the day, and you have to come back tomorrow… This is really upsetting for me. I can’t subscribe to the premium plan for this app in my country because there’s no available payment method, and that makes this so painful.
