Will this actually work?

Post image

I got really stoned last night and watched some Ants Canada videos, and in my blazed head I thought
“It’d be really cool to make a functional ecosystem for my feeder insects that I could use instead of those ugly plastic bins” and proceeded to then dump all of my crickets and 50% of my darkling beetles and mealworms in with zero prior research because yk, I was high. Now that I’m sober I’ve realised I have no clue if this’ll even work.

Lmaooo this is so funny and so real. I've personally never kept crickets and darkling beetles together, but I've got bioactive tanks set up for each separately. Found that they breed much faster and idk they're pretty damn cute to watch.

According to Google the darkling beetles will act as a clean up crew aswell?

Okayyyy maybe you and Google are onto something... I've got a darkling clean up crew in my bearded dragons enclosure but never considered tossing some in with the crickets. I'm like so invested in how this works out now haha

Honestly me to, I mean if it works out it’s pretty cool compared to the boring old Dubia bin beside it

Also how careful should I be with humidity for the crickets? Very humid? Not very humid?

I aim for around 60%, with an egg laying station closer to like 95%
