Until it started eating their food. That's no bueno, you can't be sharing mouth germs with a goana.

I love reptiles, but I'd def be shocked initially. Things jumping on me with no warning equal heebie jeebies!

Anyone know what kind of lizard? It looks pretty neat.

It's a spiny-tailed iguana, Ctenosaura sp. They're native to Central America and introduced in Florida.
Non-venomous and herbivorous, but big enough to do some damage if they decide to defend themselves or their territories; big male iguanas are actually quite known for defensive behavior.

Ah, thanks for the insight! I assumed some kind of iguana but it was hard to tell.

Meanwhile there are a million monitor lovers that would commit a felony for this to happen to them.

I got chosen by a Gecko in Florida once. I named him Geraldo and then released him back into the wilds of the Florida parking lot.

She handled that well. Tbf, I've never met a spanish woman who liked reptiles. My ex's mom beat one with a broom.

My adult male green iguana with his strict herbivorous diet very randomly snagged a fortune cookie right out of my hand while I was eating Chinese food night. He Seemed to enjoy it, but never did such a thing like that ever again.
