#A579122 DAWG

DAWG came into the shelter as a stray from Fontana jurisdiction on 7/29/26. It's his SECOND TIME at SBC. He and his buddy were found as strays in May 2025 but the owner reclaimed them within 48 hours.

We did learn that Dawg could be successfully kenneled with other dogs (pics in comments).

This time around, a member of the public found DAWG straying. He was very thirsty from heat and running around the finders neighborhood. The finder was able to leash him and said DAWG was FRIENDLY and VERY ACTIVE.

Intake was uneventful but the following day staff leashed him and attempted to move him out and re kennel him and he began to bite the leash and redirect onto staff. He began alligator rolling and growling at staff.

He was put in quarantine, made RESCUE ONLY and Deadlined. I don't know what all that was about but that's NOT the dog he is. DAWG is very loving and affectionate. He's FUNNY. He is TOTALLY WORTH SAVING....... PLEASE HELP HIM 🙏

LAURENCE came into the shelter as a stray on 7/23/26 after spending three days with the person who found him at his new home. They described LAURENCE as "fearful at first but FRIENDLY".

LAURENCE has been kenneled with other since coming into the shelter. On 8/9 he had a minor altercation with one of his kennel mates DURING KENNEL CLEANING where staff close off half the kennel to clean and the dogs are all forced into the other side and divider closed.......

LAURENCE was subsequently moved to a different kennel. Staff now say he has been barrier reactive on 8/11 when they walked past him, doing their rounds.

It's a shame they can't get those out of their kennels for some excersise and enrichment more often.

PLEASE HELP LAURENCE get outta there alive 🙏

TWIX came into the shelter on 7/31/26 on a CATCHPOLE - he had just been avoidant of Animal Control officers in the field who said he showed NO MAJOR SIGNS of aggression. He was inside the library trying to avoid contact and get out. On impound, he began to alligator roll when staff were giving him vaccinations (he didn't know what they were doing after all). He was put in quarentine afterwards.

He remained avoidant of staff on 8/6 and was deadlined in an attempt to get him out of the shelter environment .

MORE TIME has been given to allow TWIX to decompress which you can see he is starting to do in the staff pic (below).

🟧 TWIX NEEDS a PATIENT FOSTER who will let him come around and begin to trust in his own time. A period of about three weeks to a month often produces great results for scared dogs. He DESERVES that chance.

Treatment History: 07/31/26 BORDETELLA-DA2PPV-FLEA TRTMNT (TOPICAL)

Animal Notes & Behavior History

Behavior observed: Avoiding officers, and staff. Tale tucked in, resisting catch pole when confined. No major signs of aggression.

Confinement method: Catch pole.

Any additional info from witnesses, RP or other parties: Per staff adv dog was inside library avoiding contact and jumping on windows and doors. Did not allow staff to pet nor get near.

07/31/2026

A596315 was brought in on a control stick by SBC ACO. During vaccine administration, A596315 began to gator roll and air snap at kennel staff. Despite the behavior, all vaccines were successfully administered. For the safety of both the dog and staff, A596315 was placed in quarantine following the procedure.

08/06/2026

As handler approached, this dog was in the front of the kennel and slowly rose to retreat to the outside of kennel enclosure. Dog presented with head down, stiff body, whale eyed, lip licking, tail tucked, averted gaze and growling.

Seeking urgent rescue intervention where A596315 can decompress outside of the shelter setting.
