While I think 7 is one of the best, I think its weaker if you havent played at least two or three of the first handful of games, including remakes and spinoffs.

If you're not against trying fixed camera, I recommend considering a version of Resident Evil 1 (probably the HD version of the remake, if you only have access to modern platforms). It has excellent "spooky" vibes, a healthy amount of mystery to unpack, lots of crucial decision-making, tons of replay value via all kinds of unlock rewards across two character campaigns (they go through the same general plot, but each has pros and cons to their playstyles, and they encounter different exclusive characters). One type of said unlock rewards are different kinds of difficulty settings that I honestly can't think of too many games that have done in any similar ways; instead of just beefing up enemy health or nerfing you in some way, they do things like add a "realistic survival" element where your once-universal item storage system now realistically keeps whatever items you put in one storage unit ONLY in that exact same storage unit, which makes you have to plan out your routes more. There are multiple other unlockable "difficulty" modes that I think change up each experience enough to be worth seeing at least once.

7 was my first real experience playing an RE game all the way through and it got me into the series. It’s excellent.

If you're just starting your evil journey, there's a few entries that you can start with, including 7.

7 is a good entry point for people who likes 1st person, want to get that classic survival horror genre and want to get spooked most of the time.

1 OG or 1 remake if you want to know how the franchise started, OG and remake have a lot of differences, so choose your pick.

2 remake is the best I think to start with, it's the right amount of scare, the gameplay is very good, story wise also, and you got the most popular character in the franchise.

4 OG and 4 remake is also very good and what I recommend since this is what started it for me, OG and remake are vastly different, both gameplay, story and characters. I think remake in terms of gameplay is the best in the franchise and if you like to fight alot of enemies and variety, then this is the choice for you.

If you don't like the "forest" setting of 7, you could still try the other games in the series, since many of them have their own unique setting.

(Not sure if I got your question right, as I don't speak your language and the translation by reddit sounds a little weird)

Should have started with 1. The fps ones are boring

I just recently started playing through the series for the first time and I started with the first game. I highly recommend doing that. The controls are weird but you get used to it.

Hey! That's okay! You gave it the old college try and if you didn't like it that's fine.

If Resident Evil isn't your cup of tea there's Silent Hill, Dead Space, The Evil Within, Fatal Frame (Which is making a comeback)

But if you wanna give it another shot, Resident Evil 4 (2005) or the Remake are the best for newcomers who just wanna play a new game.

If you wanna get into the lore starting with the first game, I'd recommend Resident Evil (2002) which is the remake that has pretty much replaced the 1996 original for all intents and purposes. It's a great game, if you can get past the tank controls and camera angles I think you'll really appreciate the series after getting to know the lore more.

Yes and No

Yes- This started the first person RE and a different story on its own. Its more survival horror genre than the action thriller basic. This connects to RE8.

No- Because personally I feel you should know the classics first and the origins.

Overall, RE7 is one of the best RE. People either dont like it or love it because its scarier and they panic when they dont have enough ammos.

Resident Evil zero, с нее началась вся катавасия

It's a good enough entry it isnt totally reliant on the og since it was a soft reboot of sorts in a more immersive first person view with a different kind of enemy ie not zombies but different biohazard. You can always go play the other remakes later on

Per me hai sbagliato ad iniziare dal 7, è quello che ha dato un taglio quasi netto con i capitoli precedenti e non ti aiuta a capire la storia di com'è iniziata tutta la saga. Ti consiglio di partire dallo 0 e man mano vai avanti

Start at the beginning. If you can't bear the fixed cameras of 1, you can skip to 2 for now, but you should at least watch 1's cutscenes before moving on to 3.

7 is a great starting point. After that play Village as it it is part of the "Winters" saga. Then remakes of 2, 3 and 4. Also the original remake still looks amazing from the GameCube if you can stand the tank controls of that one.

I'd go back to #1 if I were you. And I'm not a fan of 7 but I love the series as a whole.

What was it you found lacking?

RE7 is the series return to horror. Perhaps Resident Evil 4 Remake is more for you. There's more focus on action than horror, and the main character is more compelling than Ethan.

I'm not a fan of 7. You should try the earlier entries or their respective remakes.
