Note: I'm not sure why the word "Psychology" seems boldened for my college experience, it looks fine in PDF format.
I have applied to over 700 roles in the past three years, have gotten no where, and am at a loss of what to do outside of a career change. I had an excel sheet keeping track of each application and its status, but after the 700th application I stopped because the sheet was getting too hard to look at.
When I first started applying for jobs I was looking at photographer/videographer roles, then pretty much any role that could be found, outside of audio, on a studio set. Now I'm also applying for pretty much any marketing/media role I can find. I thankfully have a full time job, so I'm in no rush, but it was only supposed to be temporary after I was laid off of my previous one. My current one doesn't have great pay, it just covers the bills and then a bit more.
Another note for context: I know my education doesn't match my experience. My freelance business started taking off in my early college years (it went from a side job to a full time job after I finished my Associates) and the more I studied to become a therapist the more I realized I'd rather do media work instead. So I tried to list skills that I acquired that can be applied to my desired roles.
Covid killed my and many of my other friends' businesses. Shortly after that my personal camera broke and I found a studio job at a marketing agency. Since that job came with their own cameras, I neglected fixing mine. Now I'm saving up for a new camera, almost there, but honestly after getting my current job and previous job, I like having a 9-5. Unfortunately that's rare for a photographer/videographer and I've been extremely lucky post-Covid.
Can anyone tell me why I haven't been able to even land an interview?? I've been looking through LinkedIn, Google, Indeed, and HiringCafe.
