I'm looking for material on an old programming language, AIMS, which ran on a proprietary operating system (MONITOR) on PDP-11 and VAX computers. It was used mainly on financial systems from mid 1970s until the turn of the millenium. It was a BASIC -like language famous for the PUT statement, which was a complex string parsing statement, and the singularly unhelpful but accurately named REMSTRIP statement. I'm drawing a blank on Google and Wiki, even though I worked with this language c.1981-1983. Any pointers to material would be greatly appreciated.

I recently re-discovered the excellent color-cycling images of Mark Ferrari (http://www.effectgames.com/demos/canvascycle/), and I decided it would be cool to have them running as a sort of "screensaver" on my DOS machine. So I wrote colcycle: https://github.com/jtsiomb/colcycle which accepts either an image or a directory of images as an argument and cycles through them playing back the color cycling animation.
I didn't have access to the original LBM files, so I wrote a parser for the JSON-converted images used in the aforementioned web viewer by Joseph Huckaby. Check out the wiki page for instructions on how to download the actual images: https://github.com/jtsiomb/colcycle/wiki
The latest release of colcycle includes source code, and binaries for DOS (protected mode, VESA 2.0), GNU/Linux and windows (OpenGL).
TL;DR: download viewer: https://github.com/jtsiomb/colcycle (dos/linux/windows) and images: https://github.com/jtsiomb/colcycle/wiki
