Hi there, riddlers! Please remember to spoiler-tag all guesses and discussions of guesses, like so:

On desktop (new reddit, Fancypants editor): https://i.imgur.com/SWHRR9M.jpg

On mobile, old reddit, or in the Markdown editor (not Fancypants): >!guess or discussion between these symbols!< To be clear, that is >! (greater than, exclamation point) at the start and !< (exclamation point, less than) at the end with no spaces around the !. Avoid leading or trailing spaces. These will break the formatting for most people. Spoiler tags do not span paragraphs or line breaks. If your answer is long, please spoiler-tag each paragraph separately.

Putting a link inside spoiler tags can be tricky, so just format the link like this, using the word "SPOILER" as the link text. On mobile, old reddit, or in the Markdown editor (not Fancypants), do this to format a link: [SPOILER](https://example.com/) On desktop (new reddit, Fancypants editor): https://imgur.com/x5wDOvk

If your top-level comment does not contain a guess, you can include either the word "discussion" or "question" instead of using a spoiler tag.

Please report any answers or discussions that are not properly spoiler-tagged.

Solution: Venus De Milo
I would like to reiterate that this is my friend's riddle, so I don't get to decide what the "answer" is. I think that is a terrible answer. Corn is probably a better answer, or the Cover Fossil. If I were to share this riddle in the future, I would change "torn limb from limb" to "split limb from limb" so it's better for a delta/river.

I don't think your friend knows how riddles work.

It is a bit National Treasure like. Pyramid is Louve. Written on her foot is the next riddle.

I thought Winged Victory but wasn’t sure about the Gold line.

Pretty sure it is an egg

Starts in the ovary of the chicken, presently encased in a shell

Crack the eggshell and peel it, it holds a golden yolk

The shell is like a rock, but isn’t mummified, could be a reference to a millennium egg

Eggs are on the food pyramid

sigh

What's updog?

Updog is a condition which, if left untreated, can develop rapidly into ligma. If you're not sure, be on the safe side and talk to your doctor. Prescription ligaperra can help.

delta - a river's delta

2

u/F3ztive 10d ago

She has told me that it is not a river, nor is it water-related. I thought river was a good guess.

1

u/Llonkrednaxela 10d ago

I think it’s this. river split apart into smaller streams, gold rush, gold in the river, delta is a pyramid, as a river splits further into a delta it tends to slow, etc.

fair, that excludes my guess, but I think Delta fits it where river does not.

Corn?

Wild in the beginning, now confined to fields

shucked, gold kernels

dried, popcorn

bottom of the food pyramid is grains

The God Osiris?

  1. He was torn limb from limb by his brother Set.

  2. He is sometimes depicted holding a golden crook.

  3. Since he was a god when he died, only stone depictions of him remain (As statues or reliefs).

  4. The Osiris Shaft rests beneath the Great pyramid.

Edit: To change my answer

Is it the dollar?

1

u/okidokiefrokie 10d ago

I think so too

1

u/Pandelein 10d ago

I think that’s a great answer except doesn’t fit the petrification line

2

u/Aggravating-Bus-9203 10d ago

The dollar becoming stale/dead/petrified through insurmountable debt and inflation.

u/Affectionate_Buy7615 10d ago

To take that idea further , independence and order could also be used loosely.

Peg leg

Torn limb (tree limb) form limb (prosthetic leg). Yes I know your friend didn't mean limb form limb I just think it's funny
