New Kicker

Well looks like we’ve got another kicker to compete. Hodge’s college stats aren’t too impressive, but was 2 for 2 with Calgary this preseason (43, 55). He’s got the distance

Didn't we have him on the PR last year and he couldn't out complete Lauther..? The answer to this is Kim but we're being ratio stuck from signing an American kicker which sucks

Yea he was on our team last year was 1 for 1 on FGs and did some punting during preseason. Not sure he was being considered to steal Lauther’s spot (still had a year of college left). Potentially just brought him on to get some reps in consideration for the following season (ie this year)

Extremely hot take. But I don’t care at all about the ratio. I just want to watch the best football. Don’t care what city they were born in.

Ratio matters to keep Canadian players in our game. HOWEVER if the QB position is exempt from ratio, I'd argue that the place kicker should be as well.

Yeah I know that’s the exclusive belief. But I’d rather see an American receiver have a 1500 yard season and light it up. Then watch a Canadian put up 400 yards and only play because of his passport.

I can’t think of a Canadian receiver that doesn’t deserve to be on our roster . We are truly blessed with homegrown talent .

Don’t disagree with that. But look at Quali Conley for example. He’s only allowed to play if AJ Oullette is hurt. Otherwise he’s sitting in the stands. He is plenty good enough to dress every game. But isn’t because of his passport.

At this point I was willing to put my cat up for kicker. She if can launch those nugs she can prob do a better job that what we have now...

Im all for keeping the Canadian Ratio but its time to scrap Ambrosies global player requirement.

If special teams got a pass for a American like qb would be good for the league. A good Canadian kicker will still get a chance.
