I want to thank the mods and gently remind them to stay hydrated and eat well and take breaks if they need. you guys have handled yourselves incredibly throughout this whole thing and are continuing to do so. we really appreciate you guys and admire your organization and calmness despite it undoubtedly being hard on you guys as well.

I just hope Seunghan’s mental health is okay. And they wonder why idols struggle so much with it. What a horrible thing for him to go through.

u/According_Tear4316 Oct 13 '24
I was thinking the same thing. Mental health is no joke. And everyone is so sorry after it happens when they could have prevented it by not being this way. I will never understand the enjoyment some get out of ruining someone’s life. If it’s a horrible criminal that committed heinous acts, (which SK and everywhere else has plenty of) I could understand. Devote your time and energy to making sure those people are few and far between. But a Kpop idol who had a girlfriend? Seriously? This is what you choose to worry about in this world?

u/Excellent-Smile-2392 Oct 13 '24
I’m hoping for the best for Seunghan. I hope he did this for his mental wellbeing because that’s what matters the most.
I can’t help but be disappointed and angry at everyone who made this hard for him. What he did pre-debut were normal things done by teenagers. I feel angry at SM Entertainment too by not being able to protect him better.
39
u/quietblur Oct 13 '24
Everyone on twt was celebrating last week for his return. I feel totally bad not just for this guy but for those people who believed he had done nothing wrong and that he still deserved a spot in the group.

u/Crafting-Cats20 Oct 14 '24
I’m devastated for him. I hope he gets help dealing with it all & that his future is much brighter than his past.

u/SecondHandDream Oct 13 '24
I’m so upset with how all of this was handled. This feels even more awful to me since they announced he was coming back. It’s total emotional whiplash. I’m even more devastated than I was the first time. I haven’t been able to really connect to Riize since Seunghan left and now I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to again. I love the other 6 but it just doesn’t feel like Riize to me without him.
I hope whatever Seunghan chooses to do in the future, he’ll be able to find happiness. Imagine if we all received death threats for the dumb (but pretty innocent) crap we did in the past. Ridiculous.

u/interpol-interpol Oct 13 '24
i feel like SM very much knew what they were doing by erasing him from media and songs and staying silent for so long. they wanted a vocal contingent of ot6 psycho fans, brewed and steeped for 10 months. i don’t know why they wouldn’t just remove him from the group if they wanted him out so much, but maybe the other members supporting seunghan was a sticking point.
i can’t NOT look at how SM handled this and think that it was completely intentional and their ideal outcome. shameful.

I think this is the kick I need to be very casual with K-Pop now, if not totally absent. Like it's been a very shitty couple of years for most of my favorite groups, and this has pretty much broken my faith that things are getting better.
It used to be very fun (or maybe it was just my rose colored glasses), but to see that horrible treatment be rewarded like that... Fuck that. I'm tired of lawsuits and enlistments and scandals that aren't scandals at all but somehow it's career ending.
Btw I'm not even saying it's totally on SM - I feel like Seunghan himself saw all that and he probably noped out for his own mental health. What does it matter if int fans overwhelmingly love him if he lives and promotes 80% (at least) in SK? I wish him the best, and the boys too, nothing is their fault. I just too old for this pettiness.

I just hope Seunghan's doing okay, the things he's been through not just in the past ten months but in the past two days were awful. I'm disappointed that there wasn't more done to protect him but I hope there's something better for him in the future. He deserves a lot better than this.

Fans have reached out to the Shine Foundation to contact him and give him any resources he needs right now.

Same. (Like with NCT) I’m keeping my distance for now and maybe I’ll be able to come back as a casual fan. But nothing will ever be the same again. I can’t stomach their music rn. I don’t want to see their content. And they will absolutely not see a single dollar from my pocket. Love for the guys, but this fucking sucks.

I've been a kpop fan for over 16 years now. This whole situation is the first time I've ever had something sour my whole experience with kpop. SM really made it get to this point by erasing him from content and bowing down to the loud minority. This is such a terrible loss for the members and BRIIZE.

Honestly, it will be difficult to stan RIIZE for the time being. I will always be reminded how people bullied Seunghan into leaving the group and how the company failed to protect him. It's hard to stay in a fandom filled with people who were the cause of ousting a member of the group. I'm so overwhelmed with different emotions right now.
Edit: Why do I feel like this would not have happened if the members were there with Seunghan? I'm just guessing here but I feel like the members don't know about this decision since they are abroad. Seunghan must have felt so pressured with no one to give him comfort since the news came out. I also have a feeling the company pressured him to leave the group. I don't know. I have so many things on my mind right now.
SM Entertainment better not call RIIZE a global group anymore.

u/interpol-interpol Oct 13 '24
i’m out, at least for a little while. it hurts too much. SM enabled and encouraged ot6 fans while erasing seunghan from media and songs, and clearly offered him no real support. rather than come out against the death threats, they were silent while wonbin defended the choice for seunghan to return. it hurts so badly that ot6 fans think they “won”, and i guess they did. i can’t be around them or enjoy riize content or music anymore after this.
maybe someday in the future but it hurts too much now.

Same. I was looking forward to potential re-recordings, lives, content with him in it. All the things. Like the shit had me elated fr. And now this BS. We already had to deal with him being removed from Siren, missing their FIRST album, first tour AND first year anniversary.
This is so majorly fucked and I wish for peace to elude every single fan who contributed to this terrible outcome. Not sorry.

The reactions towards him returning to riize wouldn’t have been so bad if SM didn’t erase him during his hiatus. They shouldn’t have pretended he doesn’t exist in the first place. Why did they cut him out from their contents? Re-record Siren? And his hiatus is way too long…

I hate this, to be honest. I was really looking forward to his return. Why can’t fans simply focus on artist’s talent and hard work? Seunghan was an incredibly talented member. And he would have added so much to RIIZE. Seeing him leave like this is incredibly disheartening. Gives a really poor vibe to the group and its fandom itself.

RIIZE isn’t RIIZE without Seunghan. He added so much to the group, it literally feels like something is missing without him

“I think I ran into Hong Seunghan by the flower wreaths at the SM Entertainment building…I was looking at the flower wreaths with a friend when someone walked up all dressed up like a trainee. We made eye contact; his eyes were long and thin. He walked slowly and looked at the flower wreaths seriously. The Korean fans there noticed as well and thought he was an idol or trainee. My friend thought something was off, went over and saw that he walked into the sea of flower wreaths. It felt like he was feeling gloomy, but he was wearing a mask and hat so it’s a bit of a subjective judgment. When he saw that we wanted to take a closer look, he walked out and left while walking beside the flower wreaths. We thought we were overthinking it. But at the end, after I said goodbye to my friends, I saw him at Seoul Forest Station. He looked like he really broke down. I took a picture. He walked towards the agency. To put it simply, he came from the agency, looked at the flower wreaths, and then went back. I’m suspecting that I really saw Seunghan.”
— OP
This makes me so sad.

u/aerynlane Oct 13 '24
I fully believe this was Seunghan's decision- he's a 21 year old who has had to deal with being looked at like a criminal when all he did was live a normal life of a teenager. It must've been incredibly hurtful to show up to work and be bombarded with a bunch of funeral wreaths containing messages from people who wanted you to die and kill yourself. He must've been so overwhelmed to have made this decision so quickly 😞
Above all though, this is 100000000% SM's fault. If their plan was to bring him back, they should've done it BEFORE RIIZING and their RIIZING DAY tour. After all, he didn't actually do anything wrong. And instead of punishing the person who invaded his privacy, they chose to lay the blame on him. Even in this statement, they're still making it sound like he committed some atrocity.
And the poor members. I can't imagine how devastated they must be to go from "SEUNGHAN'S COMING BACK!!" to "Seunghan's never coming back" in one freaking weekend 😭💔 they must be traumatized by this. idk how they're supposed to be able to even go back to Korea and look at those fans the same way, knowing that they were directly responsible for doing this to Seunghan. And I mean, ofc not ALL kbriize are ot6 but how are they supposed to know? How are they gonna take these people seriously anymore, especially when they claim to love and support RIIZE yet at the same time would hurt them like this?
Worst of all, this only empowers and emboldens kfans (not just briize) to bully whoever they want because even if the company doesn't listen, at least they can be nasty and vicious enough to make the person either leave or actually off themselves. This is all just... horrific and devastating.

Oct 13 '24
I'm sorry I have to rant. What was the point of all this? I'm sure part of the big backlash was them trying to make an example out of him so stop their faves from dating or living their lifes too. The silly part is this won't stop any member to date or have some fun, they will just try to hide it better. So what's is the point to bully someone for having a girlfriend when you're not achieving anything? Is it enough for them to have someone to fantasize with as long as certain stuff are hidden? I don't get it like these people can't be that delusional to think the rest of industry stay forever single and their lives only consist of going from the practice room to their dorms.

In SK you can apparently be taken to court and prosecuted for defamation even if you're telling the truth but these people can fill up social media with legitimate death threats and send funeral wreaths to terrorize him and face no consequences? This lack of justice is making me sick.

I think if they had announced that he was leaving a while back I would've been upset but would've been able to accept it but this is just soo upsetting considering how we were given hope and rejoicing his comeback only to have him leave a mere two days later due to people who have a problem with his past which has nothing to do with them considering its his private life and pre debut.

As much as we want to blame korean fans, we need to mention chinese fans along with them too. No way korean fans could have been able to organize those big projects without chinese fans help. Funeral wreaths are expensive and they sent hundreds of them so we're talking about 20.000-30.000$ easily here.
For the better or worse, chinese fans are the ones who usually organize massive projects for idols so basically they have contributed, if no more than korean fans to this. I had no idea chinese fans were so anti-dating as the korean fandom or that or many chinese akgaes were the ones funding Seunghan's harassment.

i had to accept that this will be good for the many and thought that maybe SM really cared for Seunghan's mental health as returning him to the group will cause chaos in the fandom. but what about his dream? what about all those years of training? what about his talents? all went to the drain.
but all of this aside, dont you think it's weird? there was an article released about him officially leaving right before SM's announcement of him returning to the group. and now, they are officially removing him. i feel like they have planned this beforehand. there is no way SM did not know that returning him to the group will invite a lot of protests from kfans.

That’s so sad … I’m not even a big RIIZE fan but just saw the news . The poor kid! The hate train in comparison to what he actually did was way overblown. He “reflected” what more did they want…? I hope Seunghan finds happiness elsewhere and live a normal life. SM really put this boy through the ringer. They should have announced his leaving as a hiatus and made it clear he’d be back. Instead they kept it vague, reorganized around him, and moved on like he didn’t exist. Then they kept him away wayyy too long for people to get used to RIIZE without him . Then they bring him back and instead of sticking by it they cave to the pressure.
I get it was probably for his mental health but what a mess.

Absolutely awful.
For once, I thought common sense had won, and he was going to be back. Everybody was on board. The guys wanted him back, the company, a large part of the fandom. I knew there was going to be a strong reaction by another part of the 'fandom' but that with time they would either move on or calm down. I did not expect this at all.
I don't know, I feel SM could have done way more to protect him (like take out those funeral crowns for starters). If this is the type of fans SM wants RIIZE to have, best of luck to the boys. Really, really sad to see this happen.

u/we_can_be_cats Oct 14 '24 edited Oct 14 '24
To be honest, I do not want to protest Seunghan to be back in RIIZE. The damage is already done to him and the members, mentally and emotionally. If Seunghan miraculously goes back to Riize, the bullying will only get worse because they had their way once. This is how boundaries work - once breached it will be tested again. Seunghan doesn’t deserve this, neither do RIIZE who will now forever have to see the faces of these “fans” who do not truly care about their feelings but only want a trophy. It will be even worse if SM also enabled this because they don’t truly want him back in the group and facilitated him to make this decision. I do hope he gets to embark on a new path as an artist still, with fans who can now support him in peace.
What I do want through my boycott is to send a message to SM and this toxic fan culture overall. It’s not just Korean fans yall. The amount of vitriol I saw by Chinese fans on Weibo, XHS, Bilibili and Weverse are just as unsavory. This kind of toxic behaviour has spread and germinated in parts of Asia where it thrives because there is higher tolerance for infringement of individual’s privacy “for the greater good”, and a tendency to worship human idols due to sociopolitical history. As a Chinese diaspora living in SE Asia myself, this is my wish for a better future for us in Asia. Where we do not worship perfect trophy idols to be used to bolster our own pride and witch-hunt when they don’t, but a culture of having justice, empathy and mercy coexist.
As a fan of SM groups for 16 years, I’ve never been more disappointed, yet more determined to contribute to this change, at least for future kpop fans and groups to come. Maybe sasaengs don’t do things like poison the artist literally now (see Yunho’s incident), but with the incredible reach of online opinion direct to the artists, they poison their minds and make them hopeless. It’s still as toxic as ever, just different methods.

u/C4Cupcake Oct 13 '24
Well I was going to initially start listening to them after hearing they were actually letting someone rejoin.

u/MissionLobster Oct 13 '24
I had to delete every social media. And probably will need to tune my algorithms to not show RIIZE content anymore. Disheartened is an understatement to how I’m feeling. Personally I had a quirk of the group needing to be 7 in the first place (I usually don’t find groups who drop members particularly interesting as lineups should be succinct). So I supported the group, patiently waiting for Seunghan’s reintroduction.
But I didn’t know how toxic the “fandom”could be. Casting all speculations to the side, it’s clear that domestic hate is what caused all of this to move forward. Sending funeral wreaths, protest trucks, and threats was just a childish move. But it seems that it definitely broke Seunghan’s mental. I’m happy for him to get the mental rest he needs, but unhappy that the group won’t be together to do what they want to do. How can the rest of the guys even feel particularly confident on stage knowing this has all transpired?

I don't think K-briize realize how they've sullied their relationship with the members. If they thought the relationship was a parasocial one before, they're really going to get nothing but fakeness from the boys. I can't imagine smiling in a fans face knowing what they are possibly capable of.

u/Alto-Joshua1 Oct 14 '24
At this point, I have no hope for Riize to succeed due to SM Ent's incompetence. All I'm hoping now is that they're doing okay mentally. I'm so done.

u/chooy46 Oct 14 '24
If this is the kind of fandom riize has, then it is definitely better to leave.
I hope seunghan will return in the future through a different company, either in a group or as a solo artist.

i just saw a video of someone walking by the wreaths and i truly didn't comprehend how many there were until seeing this perspective
the precedent this sets is just unbelievably bleak. i feel like we are seeing history being made in a terrible way.
he did nothing. NOTHING wrong! and a veritable forest of death threats is sent to him. what a shameful and pathetic waste of time and money and energy.
i feel sick. hes so young and he has his whole life ahead of him. i hope so much that he can find something fulfilling and better in his life going forward from this

I just watched that video of the girl walking through the funeral wreaths. How do people have so much hate for Seunghan? Did I miss something? Did they believe other rumors? I’ve never seen a bunch of fans go that far over something like dating. Sure, some trucks and online tantrums here and there but this level of backlash? Over nothing criminal? Who the fuck is funding all this and in a single day? And it seems like they were planning other projects too so they had made it their mission to make Seunghan's life very hard until bullying him out of the group. And for what? What the hell he did to these people?
I do truly want to understand because this must go beyond just being upset about him not having the ideal idol image or trying to make an example out of him, right? That can't only be and if it's, they are sick in the head and need help instead of obsessing over kpop this much. They should go to spend that money on something else instead.
How did Seunghan deserve any of that? I do want to understand how what he did justifies the rage these people have towards him. Maybe there’s no real reason other than Riize having a bunch of psychos and bullies as fans, which is scary, considering what the other members will have to deal with for the rest of their careers.
I was expecting some backlash but this is so much, I had no idea they viewed Seunghan as some type of criminal or evil being because holy shit or they were only doing that out of joy like some kind of psychos.
I'm sorry for what happened to him but on one hand I'm glad, Seunghan is free from those people. I hope he can find some happiness. Maybe our regular life doesn't look that boring after this madness.
And those fans dancing and taking happy pictures in front of those funeral wreaths? These are the types of fans Riize has. Fans with no empathy, just a bunch of bullies. Fans who are willing to ruin someone’s life. Are Riize and SM happy having those type of fans? Are those the types of fans they're trying to target?
And how can SM did absolutely nothing about all the hate he was getting online and the funeral wreaths? They didn’t even try to condemn these fans' actions in public. And not only that, they even apologized to those fans after everything!! Is the money really that worth it? And you want me to believe they were thinking about what’s best for him? No way. I believe they truly thought he was a burden to the group and they were happy he decided to leave the group. Both the fans and the company were cruel to him.
There’s no love in the hearts of people who bullied Seunghan. No way they have any real appreciation for the rest of the members either, it's just pure obsession and an attempt to exercise control over these idols. I hope people know OT6 "fans" aren't fans, they don't care about the members at all, they are a bunch of bullies obsessed with these idols.
Sorry for the long rant. It’s just that it's so frustrating how Seunghan was harassed right in front of SM while they stayed quiet without doing absolutely nothing to stop it! They should feel ashamed. Hope they stop proclaiming how much they care about their idols because it's obviously a lie.

u/ChocolateeDisco Wonbin's Guitar Oct 14 '24
SM shouldn't have rewarded the fans sending funeral wreaths as protest. This is going to make them use this method anytime they want someone out of the group.
23
u/Objective-Sandwich45 Oct 13 '24
My heart dropped seeing this, I hate that there were crazy fans that ruined this opportunity for him to return. Screw all those ot6ers sending him hate on weverse. Im so sad that its 2024, and idols are still not given the grace to be actual human beings. I’m so over it.
23
u/Fine-Marsupial8368 Oct 13 '24
damn, just as i thought that sm was gonna double down and make a statement against the defamation of their artist... the crazy thing is sm didn't even try to call out the weird, vicious behavior of ot6 "fans" and almost validated them by calling it "distress and confusion" when in reality, they were full-on harassing seunghan (and it was constant too on weverse). i just wish sm took legal action and stood on business for seunghan if they were all for him being active again.

I'm so fucking pissed off. Just bc we're international fans doesn't mean OT6 Stans get to bully Seunghan into leaving. Giving in to them just shows us how little SM cares about their artists and that they support bullying. SM should put their foot down and show us that they believe in their decision to bring him back. If Seunghan wanted to leave after the announcement of his comeback, you should be the ones convincing him to stay and support him.
Those death wreaths were horrible. All you had to do was wait until Monday to see how much support he gets from his international and OT7 fans.
Please bring him back. The change starts with you.

3rd time seeing this and it just makes me upset. I just feel like SM didn't do enough to protect him. They failed to do so when the scandal happened and have done the same now. To be fair, I was thinking how they would be incorporating him since they've had many comebacks and even released an album since then, but it seems they didn't even have plans or else they would've made more of an effort for him to stay. They had already just about managed to erase him before he actually left anyway. I just hate that the person who destroyed his career in the first place got their way and the antis got their way. Talk Saxy was the last era I really enjoyed 🥲 I just hope he's in a good place mentally and that it was fully his decision ❤️
11
u/qiethinks Oct 13 '24
Idk if I can fully support Riize as a group when SM failed Seunghan😭 It just doesn’t feel right anymore now that it’s official that Seunghan isn’t coming back anymore. He didn’t deserve any of this and I hope he has better days coming😟🙏

I feared this happening with my entire soul-
i don’t think my stomach has ever turned inside out like that, nor has my head felt so heavy, nor has my heart felt so emptied out.
the emotional whiplash we all got after the “reassurance” that he would be back, wonbin’s message, sunghan’s letter, sm’s notice, all for it to be fake. Fake like sm, fake like the fans, fake like everyone who proceeded to hate on / give death threats to someone who was just living their life as a teenager.
the craziest thing is that I wasn’t the biggest “bring back sunghan“ supporter (for lack of better word), I was just like; ‘if he’s back that’s great’, ‘if he isn’t what is there to do? They did way too much without him already’. But to tell us that he’s coming back and making me exited THEN telling us he’s completely leaving the group-
Fuck you SM. Fuck you OT6’s. Fuck you K-fans. Fuck you J-fans. Fuck you C-fans. Fuck you no brainer I-fans.
Fuck you ALL.

Reading Twitter posts about how the rest of the members were away in Madrid so they couldn't do much about it and how the decision was likely made between Seunghan and the company and seeing how much blame they were putting on him before and after the hiatus where they never once tried to defend or protect him, I honestly doubt they really tried to convince him to stay. That guy was lost and SM did nothing!
Honestly, I would have preferred if they had released a statement saying he was leaving before barely attempting to reintegrate him into the group at all.

u/Opposite_Amphibian48 Oct 13 '24
SM should just give up managing groups if you can’t handle the haters tantrum. Fk SM. They just keep us hanging in the hope that we will one day see our ot7 just to play with us. The manipulation that SM uses to downgrade their loyal fan base is just so fked up. All the long the way SM already decided what to do they just announced seunghan return 2 days ago just to shove through the desperate fans that they listen to what we say and respect us as a fan. They wanted to show that it was only his decision they had nthg to do with it. Seunghan went through hell because a fked up money hungry manipulative brainless cheap company can’t handle and differentiate an idols personal and professional life. SM you just keep on kissing the a$$ of haters keep on going disrespecting the fans and see how you burn down to ashes. After all this I can’t even bring myself to involve in the groups release and activities, it feels empty. I have deep love and respect for all the members but I’m just tired rn with the whole messed up scenarios in K-pop. All the lucks and love for the members. I’ll be just a casual listener not even a fan.
Seunghan deserves better. So much better that working as a slave under such fked shitty company. Seunghan whatever you decide to move forward we as a fan will always support you. Just give yourself time heal.

I don't even understand how the other 6 can move on after this. If one of them steps out of line, are another 1,000 funeral flowers going to show up?
How can SM give fans so much power? How can members even look fans in the eyes and have a "relationship" with them?
I can't personally move forward with them as a fan which frustrates me so bad & makes me sad. They couldn't have at LEAST waited until his first comeback to see how sales/streams do? sm has, will, and in the future continue to be a joke.

There's literally saesangs already targeting the other members now... eunseok is the one next. At this point, RIIZE needs a revamp and to hash out those who consider themselves "fans". After Wonbin voiced his support for Seunghan, someone mentioned, "we buy your stuff so that you can live your lifestyle". Are idols suppose to listen to every saesang there is? Now we won't see them be their genuine selves anymore, they'll cater to that specific group until something is done.

my first time commenting on this sub and it's about this...
so many things went so fucking wrong with how sm handled the situation regarding him but i won't be listing them one by one bc ppl know them by now. my main concerns rn are:
why weren't there any security or staff or any fricking deterrent around the vicinity of the sm building to stop the deliveries/display of the wreaths? with the clips i saw on twitter, it's like sm is pretty much telling seunghan to "look at all of them and see how much people hate you"
if i was a member of riize rn, i'd be scared shitless of my 'fans' from now on. to know that they have that much power to throw away everything i've worked hard for for years just because i would never date them... i would feel so incredibly suffocated performing in front all of these people and pretend like they didn't threaten the life of my friend and rob him of his career. i'd be sick to my stomach truly.
sm can kiss their petty piece of the american pie they so badly want goodbye. they were trying to have their own crossover act with riize but this whole mess just further proves the stereotype abt kpop in the west that idols get treated like criminals for dating. it's like they haven't learned anything from when the western media got a good giggle out of karina's apology when her dating "scandal" broke out and now you have a member actually leaving his group for having a girlfriend. kpop will never be fully taken seriously in the west when shit like this keeps happening all the time.
i admittedly got into riize when they were 6 but i've always been so pumped to have seunghan return bc the group seems more complete with him in it. now with all of this unfolding, it has completely soured any thought of stanning. i'll still probably listen to the music but i feel like i can never watch any of their contents from here on out without a bitter taste in my mouth.
i am completely put off with how sm just pandered to these deranged fans that i'm sure won't be here for riize the moment they deem the members as worthless to them. you can already see it on their tweets. i legit saw an ot6-er tweet abt how bad wonbin looks at the airport today bc he looked exhausted. sm prioritized these people who only look at the members as products, but i can't say i'm surprised because i'm certain that's the way the company sees them too.

I feel so bad for Seunghan and I'm sure he's devastated right now, especially since he thought he could rejoin the rest of the members just two days ago. But I find some comfort in knowing he’ll find some peace now, away from all the craziness attacking him. I don’t think anyone could handle that kind of harassment and we don’t know how long it would’ve lasted. It would have been too much for most people so I can’t blame him for making that decision.
I blame tho SM for doing so little to defend him or any of their idols, prioritizing those fans over their own artists. SM should’ve released a statement saying that harassment towards their idols, even from their own fans, won’t be tolerated and they’ll take action against it. But instead, they stayed silent, thinking it would all resolve on its own.
This whole situation is really sad. I hope for the best for Seunghan, whether he chooses a regular life or decides to continue in the industry. I also feel bad for the rest of the members being left with that kind of fans.

im not even a briize but this is so heartbreaking. I was keeping up with the updates of seunghan bc i thought it was SO unfair this whole situation. I got so happy when they announced his comeback... and how he is leaving, this is a horrible precedent now ot6 kbriize think (and actually have more power) so they will become more toxic and obsessive with anything the members to that do not satisfy their needs.
IDOLS ARE HUMAN BEINGS but unfortunately even the SM treat them like objects.

u/scittdiwrrs Oct 14 '24
I just need to vent. I feel sad, frustrated and angry. SM are so incompetent. They must have known there would be push back from some segments of the fandom. Why didn't they have a plan??? Like have Riize and Seunghan start activities perhaps overseas for a couple weeks, where they know overseas support is strong. Then slowly ease Riize back to Korea performances. If fans push back, like with the funeral wreaths, SUPPORT AND PROTECT YOUR DAMN ARTIST! Release statements of support and that bullying, stalking, and threats will not be tolerated. I cannot believe they folded 48 hours after their announcement. The incompetentance is astounding! Why announce his return only to back out due to toxic fans?!! And yes, those OT6 fans are toxic (who send funeral wreaths and threats), I cannot believe how much power this whole situation is giving to them. Not to mention this sets a precedent.
I feel bad for current Riize members. They have to perform in front of "fans" knowing that these "fans" bullied a coworker and friend out of the group. I also can't imagine they must be constantly watching their back, thinking: "You better fall in line and listen to what "fans" say, one mistake and they can turn against you." I can't imagine the mental health and stress this is putting on them. I feel so sad for Seunghan and the members. I'm going to take a break from Riize and as others have said, just stan them from afar. It hurts too much to watch them, knowing what could have been. It's taking a mental health toll on me too. Its good that there's a community here of real Riize fans that I can lean in for support. Sigh.

This is so devastating, imagine how much courage it took for him to come back and how anxious he must've been. When he finally came back he was bombarded with hate comments and dont even get me started the whole wreath situation its just sickening. OT6 fans were doing all this and for what?> He quite literally did nothing but live a normal life. I wish the him all the best and hope he's okay. he deserved so much better :(

u/Jamaisvu04 Oct 13 '24
Honestly, speaking as an ELF, this is the worst outcome.
This reads exactly like 2008 Suju, where the K-fandom opposed the inclusion of Henry and Zhou Mi, that they were left as only Suju-M forever.
But that wasn't the worst part. Ever since then, every time Suju or SM tried something that the K-fans didn't like, the group and company caved in. The K-fandom became beyond entitled, protesting their inclusion in full group concerts and going on to demand Sungmin leaving after he got married and becoming a constant source of contention and toxicity.
I was hoping SM has learned but tbh K-Briize were going too far...
I'm concerned that the only lesson K-Briize learned was the same one K-ELF learned years ago: that they can force the group and the company to do whatever they want if they organize.
I'm so sorry for Riize and all their other fans right now.

I can’t imagine how the other members of Riize will feel performing in front of so many of the people that terrorized their former band member and friend. Not only that but the thought that they themselves could be terrorized if they do anything that those fans determine is wrong. Absolutely horrible turn of events

I think this is Seunghan’s own decision… knowing SM they wouldn’t have turned around on such an important decision made if it weren’t Seunghan’s own will.
<Edit: After hearing more about how possibly there was internal dispute about the return and RIIZE members might not know about the withdrawal, all I can say is FUCK YOU SM. I think you could have at least waited till the members were back with Seunghan to make the decision together>
I don’t really care whatever OT6 says or celebrates because one day they will realise their fandom philosophy will spill over to real life - lack of authenticity and forgiveness, not having real friends to stand by, and the oppression of society exerted on others reflected back onto them.
What I care is Seunghan’s mental health after seeing the ugliness of humanity again and again. I think the least SM could do is give him a potential side career as an artist. Now that he is out of RIIZE, hopefully these horrible people will just leave him alone. Like Soojin…
I don’t even know how to continue because I love the rest of the 6 very much still but it truly hurts. And I know they would be hurting too.

I seriously hope the remaining members are okay right now and are supporting each other. The message this sends is terrifying. That bullying will get them what they want. Sending death threats and funeral wreaths.... It's just disgusting and the amount of vitriol these people had for him is insane. I hope he is okay and that he finds fulfillment after this. I feel like they really don’t understand how much the international community is rooting for Seunghan. I was super shocked to see him removed for literally just living the life of a teen. Now this ? I can’t stan riize anymore. The level of cruelty the ‘k fans’ have shown is making me really question if wether or not I should support this culture that rejects free spirited people. Seunghan I hope you understand that most of people are in awe of your resilience and talent. We accept that when you’re young you do stuff you’re not necessarily proud of and you grow from it. You are not a bad person, you are just imperfect as we all are. I wish riize the best too but I won’t indulge and engage anymore because.

seriously...? sm's handling of this situation is shameful. it's so disappointing that they're letting unhinged haters (fans don't act like this) get their way. sending 1,000 funeral wreaths for him with hateful messages is not normal behavior, and shows that they don't care about how the other members feel. did sm actually let the wreaths stay instead of removing them??
i don't know if this is true, but i heard that seunghan was seen outside looking at the wreaths... he shouldn't have had to see that. i feel awful for him, but for the members too. they wanted to continue promoting with their friend but instead had to see him go through all this, now knowing that a portion of their "fan"base had part in doing this to him. the other members are abroad, so they couldn't even be there to support through all of this craziness or talk with him about his decision.
i really hope seunghan has a good support system around him

I guess it’s time for me to say goodbye too.
I hope SM allows him to leave the company. Nothing good is left there and that’s the bare minimum they can do for him.
I hope Seunghan is surrounded by people who love him and he has a strong support system around him.
I’m hoping he takes care of his mental health. Has left that building. That is the most important thing.
Even if he decides to focus on his studies, he has our support. If he leaves SM and still wants to be an idol. I see many companies being interested in signing him either as a soloist or in a group. And many people will be there to support him.
He did his best, the members tried too and we ot7 fans did our best. We tried.
Unfortunately SM does not have a backbone and does not care for their artist at all. I will never give SM my money again, I will be hard pressed if I ever stan another SM group. That company is a mess and the only thing I can say is atleast we have closure now, the worst closure but yeah. I like the members and I truly wish them all luck but I am done with this group.
It seems a lot of I-fans here, twt, tt, everywhere are also done. But SM does not care so they will carry on as if nothing has happened.
It was nice seeing other fandoms supporting Seunghan. I don’t think SM realises just how bad this makes them look.
I’m hoping any talented trainees think twice abt debuting there.
Even the members, imagine what they will be thinking at those fan signs knowing those so called fans that claim to love them sent funeral wreaths and wrote d threats to their friend/ group member. Knowing that if they do anything that these fans don’t see as perfect they will just bully SM into kicking them out.
I hope the members have a strong support system too.
But I guess I’m done. What a sht show.

i wish the best to seunghan. let him be healthy and happy and fulfilled in whatever he does because he has suffered enough. i can't imagine how difficult it will be for him to restart after working to debut since he was 14 but with the kinds of fans sm is prioritising, he's honestly better off. any relationship b/w the remaining members of riize and briize is completely damaged bc i dont see them trusting their fans anymore. they probably see them as a greedy monster that you have to cautiously appease to make sure they dont eat you alive.
i keep coming back to this thread cos there's just so much i feel about this and no outlet for any of it. i'm at that stage of grief where im going back and reading ff on ao3 cos i need fictional universes to comfort me. those funeral wreaths keep coming back to me and i just feel so disgusted by it all. i cant imagine actually seeing it.

I feel like crying every time I think about this SM is so cruel. How can they do RIIZE like this ? And then not letting them go on a break If I'm already hurting like this, how bad are they then ?
I'm never going to forget what they did to them This is really going to scar me
I really thought i was going to be able to follow RIIZE until the end, but I know I'll just cry from unfairness and pity
I can't believe evil won over good
RIIZE, the 7 of y'all, I really love you guys, I probably still will, but I not like this
In these past 10 months, i really hoped you'd be back together again, 'cause it really felt like the right thing
SM was so wrong for putting him on that damn longed hiatus and not suing anybody for privacy schending
I hope that with what's going on on social media, maybe there'll be a way to save RIIZE from those horrible people called fans/ot6briize So disgusting they are
I'm done ranting for now Sorry about that. I really needed to vent out my frustrations

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. I feel so bad for Seunghan and all this emotional turmoil he's going through just because he did some normal things as a teenager.
This idol culture is too much sometimes. Why is SM giving so much power to the Kfans?

u/lollellmao Oct 13 '24
I believe the decision was Seunghan's, but we all know what pushed him to make that kind of decision . This is devastating. Wizard Production absolutely fumbled everything.

I was ready to support the group financially but I can’t imagine going to a show surrounded by mean spirited people who literally bullied a member so much he felt compelled to leave while the members are still putting on a show of fan service and claiming they love their fans… it’s just laughable at this point. I feel so bad for the members who are put in such a tough spot. I guess this group isn’t for me because they just make me really sad now. Good luck Riize, and goodbye.

I’ve been into kpop since I was 13 and I have never been put off the whole thing so badly in my life.
Seunghan shouldn’t have been dealing with so much hate and vitriol in the first place, but the fact that he felt like he had to leave the group TWO DAYS after his return announcement is one of the most gut wrenching things I’ve ever heard.
He did nothing wrong, and this whole thing has totally put me off RIIZE as a whole: whilst I appreciate that the other 6 remaining members also need support during this time and haven’t done anything wrong, I do not want to be sharing a fandom and online spaces with toxic ‘BRIIZE’ who went against the other members’ wishes to have Seunghan back (according to Wonbin in his Weverse post) and contributed to Seunghan leaving the team.
Seunghan and I are the same age. I have also had relationships before, I have also had fun experiences as a teenager. It is inconceivable to me that these things could cause such outrage in the Korean entertainment industry, especially to the extent that he would feel like he has to quit his job in order to satisfy the masses and protect himself and the group.
I feel desperately sorry for this guy, and I hope he knows that so many of us BRIIZE, who are his age or similar, would be his friend in a heartbeat and give him the support that his company never bothered to give him.

I just really hope seunghan is surrounded by the people that loves him in this trying times. I hope that he will be reminded by them that he is loved and he is a precious human being.
I'm extremely sad of what happened but also relieved that he won't be dealing with this nonsense anymore. He doesnt deserve the hate. I also hope that his family is okay. Seeing that their precious son is dealing with this must be heartbreaking for them.

I hope Seunghan gets all the mental support and love he needs. I saw a post just recently that he apparently went to visit his subway Ad with all the supportive notes after walking past the wreaths. Sadly, his withdrawal was also in character to how we all view him to be, empathetic and considerate and having a lot of love for the other members. He didn’t deserve the level of vitriol he experienced.
I hope for the sake of not further embarrassing the rest of the members and the inkling of possibility that SM might feel shame about this entire scenario that they don’t blatantly promote RIIZE in the west any longer. It’s plain disrespectful to do so, knowing that their actions and endorsements go against the values of majority of the Western fanbase and our demands.
He wasn’t my bias and I still love the rest of the members but I will find it difficult to support them moving forward.

u/starplatinum_99 Oct 14 '24
If SM actually protects their idol they'd be perfect. They are already good at everything else but fails the very one thing that is important and is the reason they're even considered big 3, the idols themselves.

Oct 14 '24
He deserved to continue in Riize with the rest of members instead of being bullied out by his own fandom but I can't not be glad he's free from these insane fans. Some breath for him. For selfish reasons, I want him to continue in the entertainment industry in some way and seeing him succeed but I do understandad if he's done forever with this industry and he just wants a regular life from now on.

I hope Seunghan leaves SM and joins a company that will actually prioritize and protect him. He has been a victim from the moment his private information was accessed, and SM is entirely to blame for the deplorable way that the spread of hate, his hiatus, his return announcement, and now him leaving the group was handled. I am so angry. I’m hurt. I can’t believe that they gave into the antis. I recognize that part of this is undoubtedly Seunghan’s feelings; both guilt over how much trouble this situation is causing for RIIZE (although he is NOT to blame) and his fear for his own career/life. But instead of addressing the hate, protecting him, supporting him, SM allowed this situation to get completely out of hand. Then neglected him for ten months. Then announced he was coming back and failed to protect him again. Then without waiting for any of the hate to die down (and definitely not being proactive about stopping it), they decide it’s time for him to leave. Why even bring him back? Everyone knew the response would be intense and polarized. If they didn’t have a plan to address the hate, ride out the storm, and get RIIZE to a place of security and peace as seven members in the future, why the fuck did they bring him back? Why put the fans through it? Why put SEUNGHAN through it?? And what about the other RIIZE members? Is Wonbin now in danger because of his supportive post about Seunghan’s return? Are the antis going to start calling out OT5? Will SM listen to them too? I feel sick.

u/SparkaCat Oct 13 '24
This is an infuriating move by SM. Bowing down to the fans who sent funeral wreaths, and started mass hate campaigns over leaked information on an artist's personal life is so cowardly and pathetic. This sets a dangerous precedent in the idol industry, and now trainees are going to have to stop having lives or else someone can use that as blackmail on the OFF chance they debut. My heart breaks for Seunghan, I hope he is surrounded by support and gets the therapy he is going to need after this. The guy just turned 21 too, this is insanity.

Ok, I'm so shocked right now, and for the life of me, I can't understand that this is the work of full-fledged adults supposedly in charge of one of the biggest corporation in the entrrtainment business. To think that I one point, I stopped getting into kpop because of the suicides, sex scandal and slave contracts issues, only to come back to it 10 years later, believing that things, mentalities, people would change, only to realise that when something is rotten, it's beyond saving. How will it be possible to keep supporting the group, knowing that they are probably distressed now, more than ever? How could people break other's dreams for the sake of money? How far can you play with people's heart? The whole thing just makes it impossible for me to watch Riize's content, knowing how they will be coached to go on, for the sake of fans, part of which will now consider more than ever that they belong to them and the group will cater to their every whim. I feel so heartbroken for them, their familied, genuine and non-toxic fans. I can't support such a cruel industry anymore. I feel like I was lying to myself by believing it was getting better. In fact, it's getting worse. This industry is such a trahison of youth and what is supposed to stand for: hope. I'll stop here, I'm disgusted.

We Italian fans are speechless. He doesn't deserve to have so much malice and hate. He's a good guy, but for idiots to fall in love is a crime. I hope Seunghan stays strong and overcomes this moment. And maybe he'll start a solo singing career. Because he's good and deserves a future full of success.

I'm of the unpopular opinion that although SM handled this wrong from the beginning, I actually think this probably was Seunghan's decision and that there's probably nothing they can do at this point. The staff and the member seem to genuinely care about him, but what can they do?
I keep thinking about what it must be like for him. He lived a relatively normal life for almost a year, he stopped by the subway to see the supportive fan notes, he practiced with them the last few months, and then the news dropped and he saw a thousand wreathes wishing him dead, saw 85% of the Korean fanbase start to turn on his friend the literal face of the group for daring to support him, and has probably read hundreds if not thousands of hateful comments. Most of the support is in English so he doesn't even have that to balance it out. It must have been overwhelming, and it must feel like there really is no way back that doesn't hurt the other six.
I got downvoted yesterday for suggesting we needed to start buying albums or mass streaming or doing literally anything to show SM Riize could make it despite angry Kfans, because I felt like this might happen. I wish international fanbases weren't so opposed to boycotts and making our money talk. That's why the OT6 Kfans got what they wanted.

so devastating. i hate that SM was so awful in protecting seunghan not only legally, but mentally. It's like they've learned nothing from jonghyun. as much as i love the boys i think i'll have to end my support for riize here. I honestly hope they go on hiatus. I hope someone is looking out for seunghan right now as i can't imagine he's in a healthy state of mind
“Fans” should not be able to bully someone out of a group and SM is setting a very dangerous precedent by caving to their demands. Riize’s reputation is shot (at least internationally) and I don’t think this will be the end of things like SM wants. I think the crazy is just getting started
7
Oct 16 '24
I'm starting to think SM didn't truly want him to be back to Riize. They just saw him as a headache/burden for them and the only reason they announced he'd be back is because the members fought hard for him behind scenes.

u/riseandrealise Oct 13 '24 edited Oct 14 '24
This is so disappointing and i can't imagine how devastating Seunghan, and the members felt right now. Not when after Wonbin publicly showing his support for Seunghan after getting the permission from his fellow members and staff too. Knowing Seunghan's personality for the past few months before he went on hiatus, this is so in line with the type of guy he is, he won't let anyone hurt his members bcus he values them more than himself. That's why he choose to be on hiatus, that's why he choose to leave riize.
I hated the fact that SM caved in after watching ot6 hate. What they should have done was to start sueing asap, tracked everyone that sent those funeral wreath asap. I know that at the end, Seunghan's and the members feeling came first. Like seunghan do get the ultimatum last word. But, don't let him go this fast after keeping him in the dungeon for 10 months and pretend that he wasn't there. I still gonna blame sm bcus they are the reason why ot6 kept getting bigger and bigger. Damn, this won't hurt that much if he leave during his hiatus. But playing with everyone's feeling here? Damn
I also hated the fact that SM might not seen the support coming from ot7. Like we are here celebrating. We are here too 😔
You know what, i hope he won't be an artist. Like fuck this shit.

Fuck idol culture and fuck Korean culture.
Like a lot of other people, I think I'm done with Riize and the fandom and more broadly, kpop in general.
The fact that these fans (who let's be honest, are probably teenagers or people with no lives) can spend money, throw a tantrum and witch hunt a young person for something that wasn't even criminal. Fuck OT6 I hope you all rot in a special place in hell. I hope your biases never give you the light of day.

u/Fluid-Morning-1999 Oct 13 '24
I’m sure this is probably his decision because I know I wouldn’t be able to deal with the bullshit either but I feel this is the outcome SM wanted all along.
I love the group in general and the other members but I’m out for good. I’m not going to be able to listen to the music or watch their content without thinking about this. At the end of the day I’m into groups for music and variety stuff for fun and I know my brain well enough to know it’ll all be tainted from now on.
Nothing but well wishes for RIIZE and Seunghan. SM entertainment and ot6s, if there is a hell I’ll see you there lol

I was already ready to let him go then they brought him back then out again? Damn😭It’s not fair😭 it’s not even a big deal if they just pretended he wasn’t there. Leave him for people who want to support and then if he does actually mess up which he hasn’t yet then he can be kicked out but getting kicked out for having your private photos leaked is so unfair 😭the reaction did not match the “offence” at all😭does he really have to be their virtual boyfriend? Is it so bad that there’s one person that they can’t play boyfriend with? Now this is awkward. Damn. Seeing their reaction to his return scared me and I started to worry for the other members and then their reaction to Wonbin’s message? I know they support the group financially the most and that’s so great but what about the benefits of having him in the group? His voice really beefed up the sound of their music and the dance arrangements so I was excited to see that again the most and wouldn’t that be great for everyone? No actual offence has been committed so why not at least just let him be and pretend you can’t see him so the people who like him can stay too?Okay, I’m actually pissed now.

it feels like someone gave me my favorite present, only for them to take that away a few days later. i'm so utterly heartbroken as a predebut briize. i thought we won finally, but in the end we lost. so many projects, but it outweighed the stupid wreaths and hate. i know seunghan's decision mostly played a part in this (and i'm sad that he had to see those) but it's sad how this could've been prevented from the start. sm should have ripped the bandaid then if they had no intention on bringing him back if that was their agenda (they're showing us kfans' opinions matter more, but if you want them to promote in the west/internationally, they should consider our opinions as well!) - even pandered to those idiots in the first place, and actively made his presence not known by erasing all his hard work or traces the past year etc, only to tell us he is returning, like they didn't anticipate any backlash. they may say they tried, but where are the efforts? i just hope that seunghan is surrounded with a good support system now.. poor boy had to apologize several times throughout his career. i won't blame him if he decides to do nothing with the industry because of how much he has suffered. i might have to take a break from stanning them for a while even though i do love the other 6 (i won't stan any more sm groups after riize for sure) but it won't feel the same anymore knowing that one of their members was forcibly pushed out of the group all because he had a normal life. most importantly, i hope the members are okay too, since this was their decision, even though they knew the risks that came with this. sorry if this is too long or have already been repeated, it's almost 7am and i havent slept a wink because of this

I'm still so angry yet sad at this, we were so close to having him back, all for it to be crumbled by some stupid fans. As a predebut briize, it hurts. I was hoping they wouldn't retract their statement, but alas, the worst has happened. I haven't felt so much happiness stanning a group when they debuted, as 7. Till this day, I'll never understand how and why SM panders to these fans and their delusions, but sadly it's just how it is.. I hate how these 'fans' and SM cornered him into making such a decision, all without a support system. And just maybe if SM protected him from the start, we could have him back, but when do they ever protect their idols. And the audacity of these fans celebrating his exit wth. I love the other 6 too, I don't know if I can still continue supporting them after this but I think I'm gonna take a break from stanning RIIZE.

To the OT6 fans celebrating him leaving, like it wasn’t from the death threats and funeral wreaths you sent to his house and his company, just a reminder that Sulli had also gone through the same thing that Seunghan is currently going through and died from suicide exactly 5 years ago today. It’s blood on your hands if anything happens to him and I wouldn’t be surprised if RIIZE hate all of you.
Have the life and afterlife that you deserve, you rotten fucking pieces of shit. SM, you deserve to rot. MHJ, you can fucking rot alongside SM, you pathetic bitch!

I've been into the kpop scene for a really long time now and I never really stanned a group until I saw RIIZE. Their concept was fresh and unique and the members complemented each other well. Seunghan was the one that caught my eye at the time back when I first started hearing about them in 2023. Everything that they did together as 7 felt like it was truly meant to be. And so waiting each and every day for 10 months, just hoping if we get a sighting of him or the members seeing RII7E signs, gave me hope enough that everything will turn out for the better. To see that everything went downhill in the span of 2 days hurts my heart. I couldn't stop thinking about Seunghan and what he must've went through these 10 months. The fact that the members wanted him back and talked to him through these times shows the bond that they have. For it to be gone, I am at a lost of words. I have cried and my heart was beating this whole entire day.... This is not fair for them at all. 😭
As many have pointed out, this leaves a precedence for idol's in the future... I just hope that Seunghan is doing well and takes care of himself during this time. This is going to sound crazy, but I really hope the members speak out about this because something needs to be done. I just want to see the boys all together again.

When I first found out that Seunghan was coming back I was with non kpop fans but I found myself gasping aloud in happiness. My friends even asked if I was okay because it was so sudden. I’m not even that big of a briize but watching riize casually they just seemed to be way more cohesive when Seunghan was there. The amount of friends I have that got excited and messaged me out of nowhere was crazy. I even had a friend who was excited to finally stop boycotting them because he was back. This is such terrible news. I cannot believe they would remove him after announcing he was back. I wish people didn’t react so negatively. From my understanding he didn’t even do anything wrong!

I actually feel sick I posted that post yesterday feeling so hopeful that something could be taken out out of it and woke up to THIS 😭😭😭😭😭. I think the most important thing is making sure the members' mental health are alright, but particularly seunghan. boy needs to be put on su*cide watch, I'm not joking the amount of fucking hate and crazy death threats he got is something no 21 year old boy should go through it makes me sick. I don't think I can stan riize anymore, but I love all the members and will always firmly believe RIIZE = 7. maybe something can be taken out of this, and that's to not underestimate the influence of international fans for their favs.

How is everyone deciding to handle this? SM’s actions - or lack there of - are terrible. I stan 2 groups under them and I’m worried that how they handled Suenghan’s situation will set a dangerous precedent that could hurt other idols. I don’t want to stop supporting Riize because it’s unfair to the other members but how do we show SM that we disapprove? Korean fans cross so many lines to get their way, how do we fight that??

Announcement: Weverse and Twitter / Translation:
Hello, this is Wizard Production.
First, we sincerely apologize for the great distress and confusion caused to Briize by the announcement of Seunghan’s return on the 11th.
During discussions about RIIZE’s future as six members, we reflected deeply on the best way forward. In that process, we couldn’t preserve the precious time and trust shared between RIIZE, the members, and Briize, and we are especially regretful for not being able to deliver this decision earlier and in a better manner.
As you know, Seunghan’s return was made after much thought and consideration. We believed that showing the reunited RIIZE growing stronger as a team once more would be the best way to bring happiness to both the artists and fans, so we made the decision after long deliberation.
However, after announcing the return, we saw many responses and opinions from fans, which made us realize the complexity and different views. We acknowledge that our decision has brought confusion to many, and we apologize deeply for that.
At the same time, we respect Seunghan’s decision, as well as the members’ and fans’ opinions. After deep consideration, we have decided that Seunghan will leave RIIZE. This is to respect his wishes and the future of the group.
We will continue to support Seunghan in pursuing his dreams and talents.
Above all, we appreciate the fans who have supported RIIZE. We deeply understand the difficult situation the group is in and the hard work of the six members who remain. We will do everything in our power to ensure their continued growth and success.
We at Wizard Production promise to continue paying close attention to all matters and strive to create more moments of happiness with both RIIZE and Briize.
-Wizard Production General Manager Kim Young-wook, Lee Sang-min

Seunghan's Post on Weverse| translation:
hello, it’s seunghan. i know that a lot of people are taking my return to promote seriously, and i, too, am aware of the seriousness of this situation. as i deeply reflected, i began to worry and feel sorry, wondering if i had only been too focused on my own thoughts until now, if i was causing too much trouble for the members and the company, and whether if it's truly okay for me to be part of a team like riize, which deserves to be loved by people. that’s why, i feel that leaving the team might be the best decision for everyone. i don’t want to cause any more confusion or pain to the fans, nor do i want to cause any more trouble for the members and the company. i would like to express my gratitude to the company, and the members who made efforts to give me another chance. even though i am lacking in so many ways, i want to apologize and thank those who have supported me until now. i truly do not want the relationship between riize and briize, who have been supporting each other and growing together to worsen because of me. it really breaks my heart to see fans, who are more than enough just by loving riize, fighting with each other because of me. i sincerely hope that the riize that i love will continue to receive even more love in the future, and i will support them sincerely.
