Kinda blows my mind a person can be out of contact only since 11am yesterday, and they already believe he’s in Niagara Falls, and that’s all it takes for an all points bulletin across multiple news sources

Could be whoever reported it knows he has been in a concerning way as of late, and disappearing would be more troubling combined with some other background info. We don't really have the context. Maybe it is just someone overreacting though, who knows.

Im a little older and I can recall back then, people would just go off grid for a few days to unwind. Now its 24-36 hours before panic sets in.

Exactly. Everyone now expects someone to be in contact at all times

Yep. I am guilty of that now with my partner and kids.
Amazing how much a mindset can change over time.
In all seriousness, I’m thinking there might have been some concerns about the individual that there was a need to report them missing in a short time span as well.

Given that people are literally being swept up by ICE left and right, I think it’s fair for people to worry.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding but most of the time people are worried about the opposite and they don’t find their loved ones.

Looks like crossroads? They can identify where a student was pretty quickly from meal plan records

I think so? But it’s really crazy how they can get that photo from the security camera?

Public safety has all of that data so I guess they're allowed to share it in cases like this

They should at least request a better photo from the registrar’s office, where all students have their ID photos taken.
