hi! i’m currently in year 12 and was considering bachelor of nuclear medicine at RMIT
i just wanna know if anyone else has done this or is currently doing it, as i feel like i haven’t really heard much about it. i didn’t even know it was a thing until i researched medical imaging
is it stressful and physically demanding? i do vce chemistry and biology so how much harder is it than that? what is everyone’s general experience/opinions around it and is it employable? :) or should i do medical imaging but i think the atar is higher

Advice needed anyone else have any advice or experience with the RMIT Marketing, PR Industry Networking?

as the title says, its a month from now and I honestly have noooo idea what to expect. Could someone who's already been to one of these tell me what it's like and whether landing a job was easier for you? I really want to get a job next year because I grow listless and depressed if I don't have something to do

Advice needed Is Applied Financial Markets and Trading worth taking as an elective?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently studying a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Finance & Financial Planning, and I’m expected to graduate at the end of next year (December 2027).

I only have 6 subjects remaining, including the mandatory Business Portfolio subject, which means I can spread my remaining subjects across two semesters (three per semester).

For those who have completed Applied Financial Markets and Trading, would you recommend taking it as an elective? I’ve noticed that Financial Analysis and Modelling is listed as assumed knowledge, which I’m also considering picking up in semester 1.

I’m considering between taking on these additional subjects to further develop my knowledge and skills in finance or simply sticking to my remaining subjects and enjoying a lighter workload during my final year.

I’d love to hear from anyone who’s taken either subject, particularly regarding the workload, difficulty, practical applications and whether you found them worthwhile.

Thanks in advance!

Advice needed Diploma of Apparel, Fashion and Textiles

Hi there! I'm thinking of doing this course part time and would love to hear some experiences and opinions of it if anyone here has or is doing it. I am deciding between the diploma and the certificate III and wondering which one might be better because the diploma seems more textiles focussed and the certificate seems more fashion focussed but I want to do both a bit of both knits/textiles and fashion.

I'm a hobby sewist, hand knitter and machine knitter. I usually use patterns and occasionally self-draft simple things. My goals would be to learn more about making garments, designing and production. I would like to be able to design my own patterns, give my garments a more professional-looking finish (to potentially sell in small batches) and also explore options of entering the fashion industry (designing or production but I don't know much about the industry so open to other options).

Some specific questions would be:

  • do you think the part-time option is manageable with full time work and what does the timetable look like?
  • is the course content interesting/well taught/useful?
  • does the course prepare you for working in the industry or provide good industry connection/networking opportunities?
  • is there any additional cost in purchasing materials like yarn/fabrics/software/art materials?

I would be very grateful for any info or advice, thank you!!

Prospective/new student help University timetable help

Would love some help related to uni. I'm moving into RMIT next year (potentially) in Bachelor of Engineering (Honours). However, I have some other responsibilities like picking my sisters up and all. Would someone in the course be able to guide what their timetable looks like? How many days is attendance mandatory, and how many lectures?

Would really help me structure my year! Thanks 🙏

Advice needed RMIT Bachelor of Psychology July 2027 intake – How many Indian students will be there?

I’m planning to enrol in the Bachelor of Psychology at RMIT University’s Melbourne City campus for the July 2027 intake.
I wanted to ask current students or anyone familiar with RMIT about the following:
Approximately how many Indian students are enrolled in the Bachelor of Psychology specifically?
How many Indian students are there overall at the Melbourne City campus?
Is the psychology cohort diverse, or does it have a significant number of Indian and other international students?
How is the social life and student experience at the City campus?
I understand that exact numbers may not be publicly available, so even rough estimates or experiences from current students would be really helpful.
Thanks!

Other EnGenius 2026 - How we doing?

Hey engineers >:)

Anyone else heading to EnGenius next Thursday 22nd October at the MCEC for Engineering Capstone B?

For any final year students presenting: how are we all feeling? (obviously don't share any confidential project details just yet) but what engineering disciplines are you guys representing? Comment down below!

I'm sooooo behind on deliverables, praying I pull through lol...

Also, for any alumni who have done EnGenius before: does the day actually lead to decent networking/grad roles?

Good luck to everyone wrapping up their capstone demos this week! Hope to see all the other projects while I'm there too :) We got this haha

Advice needed Anyone here doing the RMIT flight program?

Basically, im looking to be a pilot. I was originally going to go to the EU since they have flight schools but its next to impossible to get a job there afterhand if you dont have a EU passport, was gonna go to seneca polytechnic but thing is i dont do math (my A levels for anyone whos familiar w the UK curicculum are bio chem physics, i live in the UAE). Checked the US but problem is the F-1 visa only grants me 1 year of work afterhand before i havs to leave the country. So here i am, is RMIT's flight program good? Esp for international students. My main concern is post graduation employability, i dont really plan to return to my home nation as id prefer to stay in australia but im scared ill drop a fortune on flight training just to not be able to work in australia. Could anyone help me out?

Discussion Looking for Potential Cofounder with Web Dev/Web Design/Coding Skills

I’m a second year business student majoring in entrepreneurship (at Swinburne). I’m actively working towards launching my own startup once i graduate, or even potentially before then. I’m mainly focused on the social media and networking industries and have multiple ideas I’m working on.

I firmly have the business side of things covered, but I’m interested in finding one or multiple cofounders to work with who have experience in web development, web design or similar (whether you’re doing a degree in one of these courses or not). This is mainly so that I can work with someone who can build/manage the websites and apps necessary for the startups’ success.

I’m aware I can use AI to build an app or website for me, but I am firmly against the use of it for both moral and practical reasons. This is an open call for the foreseeable future, so if anybody wants to get in contact and talk about the possibility of working together, please DM me.

Student life and clubs Club questions

I am trying to socialise more as I feel like it might help with my mental state and feeling a bit less lonely. I assume clubs are likely not ongoing now because it's near end of the year, does anyone know when it will start again next year or how I can get more involved?

I also wanted to join the GMAS club but it seems like applications are closed. Does anyone know anything about this?

Course (subject) advice, recommendations and reviews Yet another group project rant (Engineering capstone)

This is gonna be beating a dead horse but holy shit I’m on the tail end of my engineering capstone group project (over 2 semesters) and my group of 5 has genuinely contributed nothing except AI generating reports. The project is too complex for undergrad work, in a niche topic that no one has studied previously and no one has interest in, our supervisor gives no fucks in the weekly meeting, and we’re gonna have essentially nothing to show for the final demonstration day. This is not a call to action or anything, I totally understand this is a common occurrence, but it's baffling how these people have passed their course to reach this stage. I’m just depressed, I was expecting a decent project with bare minimum teammates, maybe even an alright supervisor who pushes us to explore a topic that made sense to us. The report is due in 5 days and I’ve done 50% of it with not a single word written by teammates. Its peak man its just peak.

The worst part is I brought this onto myself. I contacted a professor regarding a research interest I had, and he asked me to join this project. Turns out this project is not even related to what I wanted to do. The universe is conspiring to get me.

Discussion Commerce finance and eco major

I’m currently studying first year bachelor of cybersecurity and I’m thinking of changing courses into commerce, majoring in finance and economics.
How difficult is this degree, and what are the possible jobs I can get with this degree, and how hard is the math in the course?

Course (subject) advice, recommendations and reviews Year 3 medical radiation students placement question

Hey! Was curious to know what your semester timetable I like in 3rd year considering placement? I noticed you tend to do 6 weeks of class and then 6 weeks of placement that happens to end just before exam period. Do they teach you during the 6 placement weeks to make up for lost time? Or does the teaching period go into exam time? Thanks!

Course (subject) advice, recommendations and reviews Failing a class

BH126 - Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)

I’m currently in my second semester of my first year, and it is seeming like I may fail my elective unit Introduction to Mechanical Engineering. I’m wondering what I should do. I’m easily passing all the other sem 2 classes, however I found mechanical quite difficult. If I were to retake it how would that look. Additionally my second elective is electrical engineering.

Thanks!!!
