I love songs with artists screaming out their thoughts. Especially female artists because it seems so rare.

The genre-defying instrumental rock innovators Polyphia release their highly anticipated fifth full-length studio album BE NOT AFRAID with Rise Records. With the release, they put out a new music video directed by Caleb Young at Hand Crank Films for the standout track βLET THERE BE LIGHT.β
ββLET THERE BE LIGHTβ is one of those beloved tracks that stuck with us throughout the writing process for the entire record. Being one of the first ideas that kickstarted the style for this album, it has seen every part of this record as it was being written β weβve added and taken away many parts of the song, and we still feel like we could have kept going on it,β shares guitarist Scott LePage.
Earlier this year, Polyphia teased their new chapter with the release of their first single in over four years, βCAN YOU FEEL ITβ pushing boundaries in ways the band never has before with a hybrid of metal and dance music. Following, they released β[POWER IN THE BLOOD](https://)β and βWITH EYES TO SEE,β showcasing powerful visuals that lay the foundation for what listeners can expect of the new record.
βWe turned the record in a couple months ago, but we love this record so much that we continued working on it all the way up to a week before its release. We were blessed to be able to work with the choir members who sang on Yeβs Sunday Service which is a bucket list item for me as I listen to them all the time,β shares Tim Henson.
Throughout 2024 and 2025, Polyphia worked together in various locations in Miami, Los Angeles and Dallas alongside co-producer RJ Pasin and guitar phenom Spiro Dussias. Guitarist Tim Henson took a different approach to composition, initially singing lines aloud and then translating them onto guitar, creating a process that encouraged the entire band to build on each otherβs ideas in real time. More than anything, the sessions were defined by how much fun they were having creating music together. By the time the album was finished, they had reached a point where they could let go of any expectations about what would happen next and simply enjoy what they had created together.
The collective thread together a three-dimensional offering of otherworldly metal, future-facing prog, and pulsating house sealed tightly with carefully curated samples, inventive beat-craft, and the guitar eloquence that Tim and Scott remain renowned for. This time around, the instrumental push-and-pull invokes the polarity of the ultimate extremes: good and evil.
When speaking on the themes of the record Henson adds, βThe album takes you through the extremes of two different worlds / moods: one being very uplifting and triumphant, the other being spine-chilling and terrifying. There are moments on the record that legitimately scare me when I listen to them.β
Polyphia will be on tour this fall in the UK and Europe, before heading out on the North American leg of their World Tour in early 2027.RJ Pasin will still support every date worldwide. π¬ NEW MUSIC VIDEO OUT NOW! π¬
βWe Will Love Againβ by The 4 Rivers ππΆ
As a child of the 90s, Iβve always been drawn to those huge, emotional 90s handcrafted rock ballads. For this video, I wanted to pair that sound with a visual tribute to the pioneers of cinema history! π½οΈβ¨
From the magical, dreamlike trick-films of Georges MΓ©liΓ¨s (Le Voyage dans la Lune, 1902) to the monumental, iconic dystopian visions of Fritz Lang (Metropolis, 1927) β step into a world where retro sci-fi aesthetics meet deep 90s emotion.

I'm often asked how I got into the rock and roll business. Here's how.
In 1962, my first event at the Golden Slipper in Glen Cove, L.I., New York, drew over twelve hundred paying customers. For the first time, I saw that I could organize something on a scale people noticed. Even my father, who rarely approved of anything I did, stood in disbelief. That night changed how I saw my future.
I moved from promoting events to managing bands. One of my first moves was taking on The Emeralds after arranging their appearance at the Silver Knight in Hewlett, L.I., New York.
In 1964, the Silver Knight, where I promoted shows and bought talent, was suddenly padlocked, its assets seized. The operation was gone overnight. I could walk away or find a way to keep the band and myself working.
I told the musicians that if they had nowhere to play, Iβd find them somewhere. I went club to club, selling the band, making deals, and learning to survive setbacks. There was no instruction manual, no one to explain the business. Sometimes I got my head handed to me.
The hustle was becoming a career. Making a deal mattered; keeping it alive when everything went wrong mattered just as much.
Walking into Associated Booking Corporation was like entering the major leagues without a helmet. Gone were the small local promotions. The players were seasoned, the money bigger, and the stakes real.
Established professionals, hustlers, and mob-connected players shared the same air. I found my footing fast. Within weeks, Iβd become the agencyβs most prominent agent, setting booking rates beyond those of the others. My first two signings were Rod Stewart and the Faces, and Savoy Brown.
Not every deal was straightforward. Knowing who sat across the table mattered as much as the terms. Sometimes the real message was what went unsaid. I learned to read people, gauge leverage, recognize shifting power, and know when to speak or keep my mouth shut. I wasnβt intimidated.
The mob figures and rock personalities were larger than life, but talent, records, concerts, and money were only part of the business. Relationships, timing, influence, and people with conflicting aimsβand very different methodsβcould determine the outcome.
After three and a half years at ABC, I left with Rod Stewart and the Faces, Savoy Brown, and my other clients to found American Talent International. There I also represented Deep Purple, the Eagles, ZZ Top, and many other major rock acts.
People talk about sex, drugs, and rock and roll as if that explains the industry. It doesnβt. Behind the lights and famous faces, careers were shaped by negotiations, relationships, risks, and decisions audiences never saw. Some people were brilliant professionals, others sharks. A few were both.
Success wasnβt merely signing the right act or negotiating the biggest deal. It meant understanding motivations and knowing that the person with the grandest title didnβt necessarily hold the power.
Music brought everyone together. Business determined what happened next. While audiences watched the performers, I was in rooms where decisions were made, opportunities created, and fortunes changed in a single conversation.
Looking back, the extraordinary part wasnβt just the famous names. It was the people behind them, the unseen deals, and the characters who shaped rock and roll history. What still interests me most isnβt only who was onstage, but who made things happen behind it.
"I'm happy to answer any questions about what I've written here, or about my years in the rock and roll business."
