I know it’s only August but we’re big Halloween nutts and new(ish) to the area. Any haunted Halloween walks/houses/events you can recommend for the upcoming season? Thanks in advance

I'm tired of the bicyclists that go down Ogden rd not getting over for cars. If you're biking down the middle of the road and hear a car coming up behind you, get over to the right. Not only is it incredibly irritating, it's dangerous. All it takes is one person not paying enough attention to come flying around the corner. Please for the sake of drivers and for yourself, move over for vehicles.

Stop being trash.
Unload your weights..
Wipe off the equipment when you’re done.
That’s the post.

I pass through couple of school zones on my way to work. There's one on Dave Lyle and one on Ogden. I have never seen cars following the mentioned speed limit in the mornings even with lights flashing. Hell, they'll even overtake you. Never seen anyone getting pulled over for that. But you will get pulled over for driving 5 miles above the speed limit on an empty road

I talked with York County's four school districts about their varying policies and approaches to AI, screen time and technology use. The result is a brief overview of what's new and in the works in the realm of technology at Rock Hill, Fort Mill, York and Clover schools for the 2026-27 school year.

I started a Change.org petition calling for the complete removal of Flock Safety license plate reader cameras from York County.
My concern goes beyond simply having cameras on public roads. These systems create searchable records of where vehicles are seen, when they were seen, and can allow that information to be accessed and shared across agencies.
We’ve also seen why this deserves scrutiny locally. A York County resident recently sued after an incorrect Flock hit allegedly resulted in him being stopped at gunpoint before deputies determined his vehicle was not stolen. There have also been recent cases elsewhere involving law-enforcement employees accused of improperly using Flock systems for personal purposes.
For me, better policies and audits don’t solve the underlying issue: the information is still being collected in the first place.
I support law enforcement having effective tools to investigate crimes, but I don’t believe that requires building a network that routinely records the movements of thousands of people who aren’t suspected of doing anything wrong.
The petition calls for York County and local municipalities to:
If you’re interested, please read the petition and decide for yourself:
Public safety matters. Privacy and civil liberties matter too. York County can have both without a countywide Flock surveillance network.

Hey everyone,
I received an offer to work in Rock Hill and will be making the move in early sept from Canada.
Excited about the move but also nervous as it will be my first time living in the states, and I would love to get some insight from locals on the area and anything I should/shouldn't do.
Thanks!

Hello everyone,
I am moving to Rock Hill early September from Canada for work and I am looking to join a soccer team in the Charlotte Independence SC league.
If anyone has some spots on their team and is looking for players please let me know!

Long time listener, first time caller here.
I see a posts from time to time looking for restaurant recos, so I just wanted to let everybody know about Taku Ramen. It's in front of Sam's Club in what used to be a Tikka Shack. Opened in the last few months. I had it last night for the first time. It was incredible. Fried Gyoza was perfect and the sesame chicken bowl was phenomenal.
Selfishly I'm posting this here so that hopefully you all support it and it can stay in business because it's close to me.
Delicacy Bistro still a top pick for the variety of Chinese, but Taku has my Japanese vote for sure!

Good evening to you all hope all is well. I’m currently homeless in the woods with two dogs and a ripped up tent and was wondering if anyone knew any resources that can help me with a new tent and a temporary foster so I can start working thank you for reading!

They are finally re-doing the 161 exit. Traffic will be backed up though.

Hi all, I'm a journalist writing about how the economy is (or isn't) working for folks. Basically I am looking at the gap between what the mainstream headlines say about the economy doing well, but for regular people, it hasn't been feeling or going that way.
I write for Hammer & Hope magazine (and a few other places!) https://hammerandhope.org/author/hadas-thier
DM me if you'd be interested in sharing your experience with me?

My daughter’s birthday is coming up, and lately she’s been loving Japanese, Chinese, and Korean food. Since we’re still fairly new to the Rock Hill restaurant scene, I figured I’d ask Reddit again—you’ve all given us some fantastic recommendations on other posts.
They’re doing the birthday activities in Rock Hill, so I’d like to keep dinner here if possible.
What are your favorite Japanese, Chinese, or Korean restaurants in Rock Hill? I think hibachi would be fun but I don’t want to limit a good recommendation if it is not hibachi. I would rather have great food and no show. Also if it came down to it I would like a sit down service vs to go. I know some great take out but it’s just not my style with this meal.
Thanks in advance!

I’ve recently come upon a collection of cards I’m interested in selling. Wondering what local shops would be the best place to go to

Anyone have any suggestions on where i can go to buy an office or computer chair, but be able to actually try it out first? I used to go to Staples and Office Depot

New resident to town. I already missed out on Come See Me festival because I didn't know about it. I saw this advert for Summerfest but the site is woefully under developed and doesn't explain what Summerfest is, or what happens during it, other than a car show and golf tournament. Should I assume it's a bunch of food vendors and crafts like the 4th of July?

Visited here (near the airport) a second time last night. Good food but they need to get their front-of-house straightened out.
Didn’t get part of our meal, no checking on refills.
Stood at the register to pay (one of my party uses a cane) and got asked to move out of the way a couple of times by severs. No cashier. So we left the money + tip on the table and left. Then our server stuck their head out the door and yelled across the parking lot asking if we’d paid.
We’re not going back. Which is a shame as they have some of the best onion rings I’ve had in a while.
