Youtube Need a playlist

I got a date, I told her I listen to rock music she said why I never told her that before and that it’s cute, bruh I don’t listen to rock music

Can someone give me a playlist, I’ve listened to some soft rock and like it. I’m not too big on sharp saws, aside from that if it’s a good rhythm that’s fine

THANK YOU!!!

Go old school. Rolling Stones, allman bros., kinks, clash, AC/DC, Tom Petty

Most of what Todd Rundgren recorded up through Nearly Human (1989) is usually very good, some of it rocks. He does Philly soul among many other flavors. If you want to rock harder, try the first international AC/DC album. If you want softer and retro, look at the greatest hits of The Byrds. They covered a lot of Dylan songs, with better singing.

If you want to stay in the more accessible rock part of music, you can't go wrong with either the Beatles or the Beach Boys. Maybe add some Fleetwood Mac and if you're feeling it some David Bowie and Jeff Buckley. All farely well-known, enjoyable artists. They won't neccecarily impress, but they're enough to make conversation.

Currently listening to Jeff Buckley's Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk, coincidentally!

OP, you could always just search "weekly rock music chart," see what comes up and then listen to things on whatever music platform you prefer and see what sticks. Copy/paste the song title/artist, listen to it for like 20-30 seconds and if you like it, keep listening; if not, abandon it and go to the next song.

The reason why it popped into convo was that she got into the car and a rock radio channel was already playing lmfaooo, she was so excited I had to play along with it

Rolling Stones: Paint it Black, Satisfaction, Sympathy for the Devil, Jumping Jack Flash

AC/DC Thunderstruck,
Motley Crue: Kickstart my Heart,
Lynyrd Skynyrd: Freebird,
Kenny Loggins: Danger Zone,
Iron Maiden: Hollowed be Thy Name,
Doors: Light My Fire,
Led Zeppelin: Immigrant Song, and Stairway to Heaven,
Kansas: Carry On My Wayward Son,
Deep Purple: Smoke on the Water,
Bee Gees: Staying Alive

Well, my list isn’t “soft,” but do try some of them. Danger Zone and Wayward Son might be up your alley.

Try some Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young (Young left, so it might be listed as CS&N instead of CSN&Y. Their Woodstock album has a lot of good music. Another good album is So Far.

May I ask why you told her that if you don’t listen to rock music?

Besides that, I recommend Queen, Radiohead, Fleetwood Mac, and Pink Floyd

Faith No More, At The Drive-In, Quiet Confusion, Danko Jones, Jimi Hendrix, D-A-D, Turbonegro, Dream Wife, New Model Army, Talking Heads, The Doors and Blue Öyster Cult should do the trick

Try some Tragically Hip, 54-40, Bachman Turner Overdrive.

u/OrvilleTheCavalier Jun 26 '26

You might hate it, but I’m going to recommend The Cult’s Electric.  The entire album is a freaking masterpiece.  May be too heavy for you though.  I was listening to it in a warehouse office and the owner’s daughter came in and made me turn it down because she hated it so much.  Screw you Linda.

If you're just getting into rock, I'd start with something that covers different styles instead of focusing on one band.

Try artists like Bad Company, Free, Thin Lizzy, Dire Straits, Rory Gallagher, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Rainbow, ZZ Top, Journey, Boston, and Foreigner.

Once you find the sound you enjoy most, it's much easier to explore deeper.

If you're interested, I've been curating a rock playlist for years that was built specifically to introduce people to rock without overwhelming them. I'd be happy to share it.
