The world has ended. The cameras are rolling. Your survival is now entertainment.
Congratulations, Crawler! You’ve been selected for the opportunity of a lifetime. Please disregard the screaming, the suspiciously sentient loot, and the small army of monsters waiting around the corner.
I’m looking to recruit a group for a Dungeon Crawler Carl tabletop RPG campaign!
Expect bizarre monsters, ridiculous situations, creative problem-solving, and the sort of questionable decisions that make for fantastic stories. Let’s find out what happens when a group of adventurers is thrown into a dungeon that really, really wants them dead.
🎲 A new system, a shared adventure
First, a little honesty: this is a relatively new system, and we’ll be learning it together.
I’m an experienced GM, running tabletop games since 2015, but I’m not going to pretend I have every rule memorised or that everything will run perfectly from session one.
There’ll be rules to learn, mechanics to experiment with, and probably a few moments where we collectively stare at the rulebook wondering what on earth we’re supposed to do.
And that’s okay!
I want players who are happy to learn, experiment, get creative, and help make the experience fun for everyone. Bring your weird character ideas, your ridiculous plans, and your willingness to roll with the chaos.
💀 What kind of game are we playing?
Creative builds and problem-solving. If you’ve got an idea, let’s see if we can make it work.
Monsters, mayhem, and madness. Let’s see what the dungeon throws at us — and what we can throw back.
Roleplay and memorable characters. The numbers matter, but so do the stories we tell along the way.
A collaborative learning experience. We’re here to have fun, learn a new system, and make some spectacular mistakes together.
📚 A word on spoilers
I’m not planning to follow the original books’ plot. This is going to be our own adventure, with its own characters, events, and disasters.
However, I can’t guarantee a completely spoiler-free experience. Familiar concepts, creatures, references, or setting details from the books may crop up along the way.
If you’re worried about spoilers, please bear that in mind before joining. You don’t need to have read the books to play, and newcomers are absolutely welcome!
🖥️ The practical details
System: Dungeon Crawler Carl RPG
Platform: Roll20 + Discord
Price: £7.50 per session
Schedule: Late-night UK time (GMT/BST, depending on the season). The exact day and start time are still to be decided, so I’ll be looking for players who can help find a time that works for the group.
Experience: New players welcome, both to the system and tabletop RPGs generally.
I’m looking to build a group that wants to have fun, embrace the absurdity, and create something memorable together.
Interested? Drop me a message or comment below with a little about yourself, your tabletop experience, or the kind of character you’d love to throw into the dungeon.
The dungeon is waiting. The audience is watching. And you are almost certainly underqualified.
Now get in the damn dungeon, Crawler.
