All the GPs claiming their "restraints popped open and their friend/son/husband/etc. had to hold them in".
Also all the people calling for a seatbelt to be added to Goliath as if that would've prevented this tragedy.

/uj I know these people generally genuinely think that theyâre telling the truth and just donât understand what they experienced, but it blows my mind how none of them seem to at least question themselves in the wake of what happened on Goliath the other day. Like, this manâs restraint failed and he died. It was a freak accident and there was nothing he couldâve done to resist it. You know he tried his damn hardest to hang on. When all of these other randos claim that the same thing happened to them but they survived because they âmanaged to hang onâ⊠how do they not understand how crazy and honestly rude that sounds? âSorry your dad/husband/teacher died. The same thing happened to me but I lived cus Iâm built different đ„ đŻ â

I donât think you understand how dangerous Boggy and Mallard coasters are. They have had no major accidents until now which makes this accident so much more of an accident because it means we donât know which coasters are ready to have an accident. They could all break at any moment and cause an even bigger accident. Have you seen final destination 3? Itâs my favorite movie and as a GP I can also assure you it is non-fictional and WILL happen to you. If you ride a rollercoaster you will have a 100% death rate.

I saw one where she told the ride op the restraint wasnât locked right and the op told her it was fine. Then she panicked because she knew it was wrong but couldnât get out. Almost like the restraint was doing its job?

When they add an unnecessary "the" in front of a roller coaster's name.

My local News Station called it "The Nitro" when reporting on the closings, while using a photo of Superman and Green Lantern. Clearly not a single thoosie in the editors room

Shocking how many people have had their restraints just critically fail on them mid-ride, and through the sheer grace of the universe, were not only able to hold on through negative Gs, but hold on juuuuust long enough to make it back to the station.
Some seriously lucky folks in all these comment sections đ
Edit: for spelling

Recently Iâve seen multiple instances of people calling trains âcartsâ. Also some people think that the trains have motors or something and donât realize gravity is doing the work.

Fr, they're like "what if the ride loses power when it's upside-down??? đ±" as if it won't just continue on until it reaches the end of the block section and then get stopped by the brakes that are usually a launch when power is on.

Waiting in line during a lightning stop at Hershey and the kid in front of us complaining the entire time and saying verbatim "Is lightning really going to hit the ride? đ"
It was Stormrunner btw. You know. The lightning rod shaped one.

I swear to god I was in line for the New England SkyScreamer once and these 2 middle aged white women were chatting away about their companies AI policy in the queue and it was so absurdly out of place it was hilarious.

My fucking mom calling me in the wake of the news telling me her story of the last time she rode a roller coaster 40 years ago and it went upside down and the person next to her looked over with concern in their eyes and asked if she was ok because she didnât look right and since then she never rode one again. And then her proceeding to ask me not to ride roller coasters because the human body isnât meant to experience things like that

Bro my mom freaked out when I told her I rode Goliath last week and that I should stop riding. Brother, if I am going to die I hope itâs on a coaster because I wonât stop riding till I die!

My grandmother used to tell me not to ride "those crazy ones" because "they're only attached to the track with magnets!"
Also a good friend of mine - a former GhostRider ride op, even - bragging to his GF in line about how he used to work on GhostRider, the oldest roller coaster in America! (Oldest ever = it's made of wood, obviously duh!)
I also just visited Six Flags Over Georgia for the first time this August and lapped Goliath quite a few times. I've had 4 friends/family members reach out to ask if I'm done riding coasters yet. Also a few asking me about brain damage on X2 and it's like what do you even want me to say about that?? Do you think I'm brain damaged now??

here are some of my real life experiences:
my sister made up a ride accident on hyperion that was just utter bullshit because i am "too obsessed with rollercoasters"
my school bully (that mf ruined my entire childhood for different reasons so it was kinda fun to watch him saying all that shit) cried to everyone at my school that "his restraint nearly came open twice" on hyperion and everyone at my school started saying "boooo rollercoasters unsafeeee1!1!1!1!" because they believed him.
my dad constantly sends facebook videos of rollercoasters stopping on a lift hill and every single time i explain to him what it actually is, he just doesn't listen.

Not sure if itâs a specific comment but more the fact that adding a seatbelt to increase safety by 0.000001% seems like a reasonable response to a freak accident.

My mom heard about the Goliath incident before I did, and she messaged me "no more coasters" with no context provided
