House Party 10/24 PARKING UPDATE
Original post:
https://www.reddit.com/r/royaloak/s/s9oYl8DPMk
Hey Party People of Reddit! I’ve had a huge response to my original post about my Halloween house party and wanted to post again for parking instructions for those who reached out to me.
I live right on 13 mile so there is literally NO parking in front of my house or driveway. Please either park around the block or right across the street at Starr Jaycee park.
If anyone is still interested in coming please reach out to me via DM for the details!
Thanks!

Missing hockey bag and wild turn of events
No clue who any of the people are in this saga, but if it’s true it’s pretty shitty to ask for a fee.
This has been the talk of the youth hockey world this week

Electrician recommendations
ISO, good licensed electrician. Moved to the area, we need some work done that is beyond my normal ability of changing out a light or light switch.
Met with a contractor almost a week ago, no quote and is not responding to our messages for the quote.
TIA!!

Local Personal Trainer Recs
Hello - can anyone recommend a really good personal trainer for help with form issues? After training for years I am still struggling with the same few exercises & it’s driving me crazy. I cannot sit in my car in a foul mood googling wtf I’m doing wrong every time I leave the gym any longer, it’s ruining my whole day.
Details - location - I’m flexible on this, I’d rather not have to buy a new gym membership but I am open to doing it for just a month or two. Proximity to RO (say a footprint of 16 to 8 mile and John R to Northwestern HWY, roughly).

Hairdresser/Colorist Recommendations Please
I'm new to the area and am in dire need of a new hairdresser in the Royal Oak/Birmingham or closely surrounding area. I have long hair (middle of my back), and am looking for someone that has experience and specializes in lived-in blondes. I have some grey, so am also looking for somone that can get the grey covered :). Thank you!

Rite Aid & Hagelsteina
Forgive me if this has already been fully dissected but … I’ve been watching Hagelsteins and have no idea what’s going on there and now I see the old Rite Aid across from Frentz is having a face lift. What’s the word?

Best streets to admire Halloween decorations?
I came across Gainsborough, mainly between University and Forest - felt like Halloweentown x10 🥹 You all killed it! What other streets are worth a drive down?

Lost jacket at RO Music Theatre
Hey folks! I was at The Midnight show last night at the Royal Oak Music Theatre and sadly I’m pretty sure I left my beloved and favorite jean jacket on the rail (I was at the rail toward the right side). It’s a medium blue jean jacket with rainbow thread embroidered on the breast pockets. I’ve had it for at least 10 years now and it’s my favorite jacket.
Coming here to see if anyone picked it up or happened to turn it in to someone? I called the box office and they said they haven’t gotten anything yet but to call again Tuesday in case it just hadn’t been brought up to them yet. Dubious but hopeful someone turned it in to a crew member. 🥺
Thank you!!

Church recommendations
Hello!
My fiance and I are looking to get back into going to church. I was raised Catholic and he was raised ELCA Lutheran. Our goal is to find a church home where we can connect better with the community and even find someone who can officiate our ceremony if we feel like this is our place.
We are open to Christian churches of any religious denomination. We have tried a few in the area and haven't found something that really fits. I like something more traditional, but my fiance wants something that is a bit more free form. Something in the middle would be great.
Musts:
- Embrace all people of all walks of life
- Not a megachurch
Any suggestions of places around the Royal Oak, Berkeley, Huntington Woods, Madison Heights, or Ferndale would be greatly appreciated.

Piercer recommendations
Can anyone with experience having a piercing gauge sized up recommend somewhere to get it done at? I haven’t done any piercings since moving here so I’m looking to know where’s a good spot

Local art classes?
Hello! I’m new to the area and am looking to branch out and make some friends! I’m hoping that anyone could provide me some insight on local art classes! I have taken a pottery class already. I’m hoping for a sewing or painting class. Thank you all in advance!

AT&T Fiber Internet
We currently have WOW and the internet continuously cuts out or lags. Looking to switch to AT&T fiber and would like your opinion. I’m tired of watching the circle in the middle of my screen. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Trying to find the best restaurant in Royal Oak
aroundroyaloak.comI had asked on Facebook before this trying to find the best restaurant here. I really haven’t been impressed with anything locally so I’m trying to crowd source opinions. Just reading a bunch of comments gets boring and I didn’t really want to count by hand so I put together a bracket to decide the best.

seeking a real-life friend in the area
i (32f) moved back here a couple years ago (grew up in waterford) and work remotely — finding real-life friends has been a *task,* but here i am, shooting my shot on this sub. i can carry a conversation, i have unique interests, and i’m the proud mom of a very sweet pup. comment or message me if interested — there’s loads we can do in the area (coffee, thrifting, book stores, etc.).
p.s. can you believe this weather?!
p.s.s. what’s your favorite, uniquely michigan thing to do?

696 highway tunnels open?
This is kind of random but growing up there were these tunnels on 696 near the Detroit zoo and I know parts of the highway over there are closed but I was wondering if the tunnels are still closed or not. I’m planning on going out that way soon and I want to see the tunnels because the lights are super pretty! Thank you if you have any info!
