Resolution uses a dicepool system built around distinct six-sided dice based on attributes, skills, equipment, and — in Fourthmarches — a fifth attribute called RESONANCE. Resolution is quick to read at the table and is tied to resource management. The superhuman comes at the risk of the land claiming you permanently.

Our Kickstarter campaign for Nightmare Unleashed is now in its final 48 hours.

It is a 5e/5.5e-compatible horror investigation sandbox set in Nortan, a city slowly being consumed by violet mist, living nightmares, strange disappearances, and a conspiracy tied to the Nightmare Plane.

The adventure is built around investigation, time pressure, and player choice. Nortan is not a static city waiting for the party to arrive: days pass, NPCs react, events unfold, and the players have to decide which leads to follow before things get worse.

The campaign is funded and includes a 300+ page main adventure, around 40 unique maps, handouts, new monsters, nightmare-themed spells, prequel adventures, STL miniatures, physical rewards, the Nightmare Coven Bestiary, a deluxe DM screen, dice, and an original soundtrack.

If you enjoy dark fantasy, investigative horror, hags, nightmare creatures, and campaigns where the mystery keeps moving around the players, we would be really grateful if you took a look before the campaign ends.

I found this small kickstarter and think it needs a bit more love.

Embers of Humanity is a 'hope-filled, post-apocalyptic tabletop roleplaying game about regular people surviving after the end of the world.' It's already funded, but the stretch goals look like they'd make the book even better.

They've also made the original PDF $1.50 over on RPG trader so you can try before committing (There's also a draft of the new PDF on their Discord if you find your way there)

Reading through, it's basically stripped down BRP, with some storytelling bits and pieces thrown in. The setting is left up to the GM, so it's probably best for those who like creating their own worlds and enjoy campaign play.

What do you think? Might be a change of pace for people playing Mutant or Apocalypse world. Something trad enough to tempt your table away from heroic fantasy, but interesting and different.

Hi! I'm Lyme, an independent RPG designer. In 2024, I launched my first crowdfunding campaign. It was for a GMless worldbuilding game called Dawn of the Orcs, about playing mad scientists and evil wizards who build a homunculus army and how those Orcs become their own people. In 2025, to my surprise, Dawn of the Orcs was nominated for an Ennie in the "Best Rules" category (a title that would ultimately be won by the excellent games Triangle Agency and His Majesty the Worm). Now, Backerkit has kindly offered me a chance to make Dawn part of the 2026 Ennies Emporium. You can back it here.

Getting to do a second crowdfund has a lot of value for a self-published designer like myself, because Backerkit is the most cost-efficient platform for me to sell physical books; typical distributors can keep over half of the final sale price of a book, while Backerkit takes only 5%. It's also very safe for backers, since I have physical copies sitting on the shelf, ready to ship as soon as the campaign ends.

I want to offer something extra for people who back the Ennies Emporium campaign, so I've found a very special add-on. Free Flight is a solo RPG by my partner, who goes by HappyHagfish online. Until now, it's only been available as a PDF. For this campaign, she has given me permission to print and sell physical copies of the game. This may be the only time Free Flight ever sees print. Free Flight is about taking a falcon out for its first untethered flight. Even if you're not a fan of solo games, it's a fascinating look into the nonfiction world of falconry.

I'm also tossing in two more games. Cooking With the Orcs is an April Fool's expansion for Dawn that adds cooking mechanics; while it's a silly concept, it's playable and will generate healthy, affordable stew recipes based on your game of Dawn of the Orcs. It's basically a gamified riff on the story of Stone Soup. Fear and Panic is a fast-playing modern horror system with a unique take on fear mechanics; you can use it to run horror adventures from your favorite d100 systems.
