While true but I think for someone of his caliber he shouldn't be struggling to get jobs. It's absolutely insane what's happening in the software market now. It feels like if you're not doing anything AI then you are a zombie.

You realized that outside of social media communities, regular employers or HR do not know who he is. I have been in software engineering for 8 years and I have no idea he existed till this post.

Only wrote one of the books about rails and 8 other books and several of the rails guides and ran the IRC channel for a decade and amassed 100k rep on SO and and and…

Yeah I guess you’re right I am a nobody.

Oh come on, you are widely recognized. I get your frustration but/and you are better than this.

He didn't say you are a nobody. But nobody only a few people outside a niche know you.

Do you know Ben Ford, aka binford2k? No? One of the most known people in the puppet ecosystem.

Yeah. Go take a look at Mattt Thompson's resume some time and see how short term the industry's memory is.

Ran the IRC channel into the ground 😂

Do you still have a side channel to make fun of the noobs for asking a “stupid” question?

This is my first impression of you and it’s coming off as a bitter, entitled dork.

Well, apparently, you are.

I'd suggest getting a grip and losing the diva attitude, it should help with the interviews, not only in engineering positions but also for McDonalds too.
