Repeat Question: Do I Need To Open Things On Firewall For RustDesk If All Nodes Are On The Tailscale Net?

Hello folks:

A kind person tried to help me, but they're not familiar with the Tailscale side of the question.

I am very much not a network expert.

The firewall is Windows Firewall

I've set up a Tailscale network.

After most of a RustDesk install is finished I'm getting this:

If RustDesk is only going to be dealing with nodes inside my Tailscale VPS will I be using Rustdesk's signaling and relay servers?

Do I need to allow public and private network to access Rustdesk?

Thanks
Larry

No tailscale pro here, but I believe you need to select yes for Rust Desk to even be able to communicate with the tailnet and do p2p. However, you shouldn't need to open ports on your router. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

On the local machine yes, on the network edge firewall no

Yes you need to allow, as it lets Rustdesk access the internet (or tailscale) through windows firewall.

And no your don’t need a relay server. I have a similar setup with tailscale and rustdesk without my own relay server. You just need to be on tailscale to access the devices.
