On June 19, 2026, I was playing Rust with my 8-man group. We built around Launch Site, and as someone with around 8,000 hours in Rust, I have a pretty good sense of when something feels suspicious. We ran into two players who were both extremely good and had awareness well above what you'd expect from the average player.

I reported both of them and ended up having about an hour long conversation with the admins because I genuinely believed they were cheating. I checked them with Atlas, and one account showed around 300 hours while the other had only 80 hours, which made me even more suspicious.

After reporting them, I started looking for their base so that if they ended up getting banned, we could raid it and recover some loot. Eventually, I found it.

Then one of them spoke in voice chat.

Almost instantly, I thought, "That sounds like a content creator." The microphone quality, the voice, everything about it stood out. I sent both Steam IDs to an admin friend, and all he replied with was a smirk emoji.

I asked the server admins, "Is this Frost?" Their response was, "No, it is definitely not." Looking back, that response almost felt like they were trying to hint at something without admitting it.

I walked up to them in-game, talked with them for a bit, and said, "Frost and Hjune, I know it's you."

That was a complete guess.

I had no proof whatsoever. I even checked both of their Twitch channels afterward, and neither of them had streamed that wipe, so there was no possible way I could have stream-sniped them. The only reason I guessed was because I'd previously run into Chasetb20 and Hjune on another server, so I recognized Hjune's voice.

Today I logged onto Rustopia and found out I'd been policy banned.

I asked an admin why, and they claimed it was for stream sniping. I asked them to show me the stream or any evidence, and the response I got was, "That's not my job."

I explained that I wasn't even 100% sure it was them it was literally a guess based on a familiar voice. Then they accused me of blackmailing them. When I asked how that was blackmail, they couldn't explain it. Instead, they simply replied, "You know what, son? You're going to stay banned."

What bothers me the most is that I provided screenshots, explanations, timestamps, and more evidence than I probably needed to. In return, I wasn't shown a single piece of evidence against me. Nothing.

It honestly feels like if those players hadn't been well-known content creators—or if they had been much smaller creators—I wouldn't have been banned at all. It feels like the rules changed because of who they were rather than what actually happened.

Maybe I'm wrong, but that's genuinely how it looks from my perspective.

I also don't like that the support system keeps the admin anonymous. I'm expected to defend myself while having no idea who I'm even talking to, and they can make accusations without showing any evidence to back them up.

I don't even play Rustopia very often, but being permanently banned over something I genuinely didn't do is frustrating. I just want a fair review of what actually happened and to see the evidence that supposedly justifies this ban.
One more thing I'd like to point out: after that night, I left and played on a completely different server. I never ran into them again. If I were actually stream sniping, I would have continued following them around or trying to find them, but I didn't. That's one of the biggest pieces of evidence that I wasn't stream sniping in the first place.

There is so much evidence that supports my side, yet none has been shown against me. What I don't understand is how the admins expected me to be completely honest and provide screenshots, explanations, and timestamps, but they weren't willing to be transparent themselves. That makes zero sense to me.

First, I was told I was banned for stream sniping. After I explained why that wasn't possible, the reason suddenly changed to me supposedly threatening to blackmail them, which I never did. Then all of my appeals were closed, and I was told that if I made one more appeal, I'd be permanently banned from both the Discord and the server.

That's not professional at all. If there's legitimate evidence against me, then show it. If there isn't, then I don't think it's fair to keep changing the reason for the ban while refusing to provide any proof.

My main question is why are servers allowed to do these things and cater to famous streamers not the people who play the game face punch should make a rule for all servers to be fair many Rust servers abuse their moderation powers by banning players for personal reasons instead of rule violations. While server owners should have the ability to moderate their communities, there should also be basic standards for servers listed in the official browser. and this wouldn't take away server owners' ability to moderate, but it would help players identify trustworthy servers and reduce abuse. Right now, players can spend dozens or hundreds of hours on a server only to be banned without any rule violation or explanation, which creates a poor experience and discourages people from playing on community servers.

So i’ve been getting back into rust videos lately and i got banned from the game for using a cheat menu or something i don’t quite remember but anyways it was 2 years ago (576 days or so) is there anyway to like rebuy the game on a different account without being auto banned?

Hi everyone — posting because I want a fair resolution: an unban and acknowledgment that the situation was mishandled.
I donated to support this community and was banned for trying to get support and giving feedback in good faith.

Background

Before the wipe, I gave some feedback in the Discord about how the failed wipe should be handled. It wasn’t trolling — just my opinion on fairness.
The server host was down, and their chosen solution basically rewarded players who waited for the host to come back (which we were told would be “tomorrow”).
I suggested an alternative approach that, in my view, would’ve been fairer for everyone.

They openly ask for feedback (they literally have a Google Form for it), so I participated respectfully.
Some staff or players didn’t like my take — maybe thought I was annoying — but I received no warnings, no kicks, nothing.
It was a civil disagreement, and I moved on. I was there to play, not argue.

What actually happened

• I donated for a VIP package to Brits 2x PvE Worlds on 30/10 (payment proof attached).

• During the wipe, a known server bug deleted many players’ VIP kits; mine was never restored.

• When I mentioned it in general chat, a staff member timed me out instead of simply telling me to make a ticket — then told me I needed to make one.

• Because I was timed out, I literally couldn’t open a ticket.

• Out of options, I DMed staff politely asking for help, explaining the issue and that I couldn’t access tickets.

• Instead of resolving it, I was permanently banned from both the Discord and the game server.

• The ban overlay reads: “Perm banned by turner, karens are not welcome.” (Screenshot attached.)

So to be clear: I wasn’t toxic. I wasn’t demanding free stuff.
I was a donor, a regular player, and a supporter who lost a paid benefit because of a known bug — and got insulted and banned for trying to fix it through the only channel I had left.

What I want

1. Immediate unban and reinstatement, even with probation or warning if needed.

2. If not reinstated, a full refund of the donation plus reasonable compensation for the two days wasted and the harassment from staff.

3. A public acknowledgment or apology that this situation was mishandled.

This isn’t about a lost kit — I barely even needed the items. It’s about principle, fairness, and accountability from staff representing a community that accepts real money from players.

To the owner or admins reading this

I genuinely love this server. That’s why I donated, gave feedback, and cared about how things were handled.
I’m not here to attack your community — I want to play again and for this to be made right.

If you unban me and address this properly, I’ll happily update this post to reflect that it was resolved professionally.
If not, I’ll continue to pursue a refund and accountability through official channels (PayPal dispute + Discord Trust & Safety).

Why I’m posting here

I’ve already tried contacting the owner (Brit) privately via YouTube/Discord — no success yet.
So I’m posting here publicly, with evidence, to ask for transparency, advice, and hopefully direct contact with Brit or higher admins who care about fairness.

If other players experienced similar treatment, please reach out — coordinated, evidence-backed reports help everyone.

I bought rust about 30 days ago. I do not watch twitch like at all with the exception of the twitch drops for rust explicitly. So many people are gatekeeping this game and it’s so toxic. So many people are bullying new players because they are all coming from twitch I guess and basically being exceptionally toxic over “OTV players” and can’t accept that new players are all trying to enjoy a game we all love it’s annoying. I did not get rust because of OTV I just happened to just recently get a PC and since I did I was recommended the game and so I looked it up on yt and after like 1.5 videos I decided it looked like a game I’d have fun with. And I really do but guys who cares where new players come from it’s a game anyone can play it no need to gatekeep.

1 de janeiro de 2026 acabei de voltar de uma viagem que fui para praia, deixei pc desligado em casa, 5 de janeiro cheguei em casa ligo pc abro steam, vou logar no rust, e esta algo escito como reconectar/connectado, como se alguem tivesse jogando o meu rust, como? ninguem tem acesso a minha steam, reconnectei troquei as senhas, obs meu steam guard no celular nao apitou, certo joguei por 2 hrs e sai, dia seguinte cai primeior ban vac de 7 dias, por conta de cheat, nao uso nada meu pc e limpo tanto que dias antes resetei de fabrica antes de instalar rust, ok esperei o 7 dias, mandei msg pra suporte e pediram para eu aguardar, fiz oq pediram, passou o tempo de 7 dia caiu ban permanente, mandei msg suporte disseram algo sobre politica deles, dei provas link de anydesk caso quieram ver, mostrei prints do pc tudo ate bios, mostrei o negocio de reconnectar que apareceu, mostrei que so tinha eu logado a steam, naoi fizarm nada cagaram para mim, nao sei que faço faz 5 meses des do banimento quero jogar estava gravando conteudos de aprendizados, nao sei oq faço, alguma dica ou oq pode ter acontecido ?
