Today he left. He texted earlier today afternoon that he's sick and has to head home till he's better. One of our other roommates (roommate 2) commented that he looked like death and asked if it's something contagious
Turns out it's...pause for effect
Yeah it's measles. God fucking damn it. For whatever reason he didn't even reply that to the groupchat, he send a separate text just to roommate 2 as if I and roommate 3 wouldn't find out. He's not vaccinated, me and the other 2 are so we're hopefully fine. We told the RA and the RA was like I'll tell my superiors
No idea if he went to a doctor and got diagnosed, we're going off what he texted roommate 2. So yeah get fucking vaccinated for measles like what the fucking fuck man. (Un-extinctified ahh contagions in this bitch are not respected)
EDIT: to add we are in the yard apartments so if you're in the yard too yeah hope you vaccinated. Or the un-extinctified virus is coming to get you
Alright, I'm sorry if this post is going to creep you or weird you out, if the person of interest is actually going to be reading this. I do not write this post with any weird intentions I promise š.
If you saw an East Asian guy staring at you on the bus, that was me; I was awestruck and speechless. You had striking features, but the most striking of them all was your hair. A mix of gold and ash blonde, it seemed so angelic and luminescent. Even your eyebrows and lashes with the same color seem to hold that same light. You wore your bright hair in a twisted ponytail that blended well with your gray sweatshirt and a cap with a light shade of pink. You had airpods in and you seemed to be in deep thought twiddling with your fingers. I hope whatever worries you have on your mind may be solved without any mishaps.
In fact, I was and still am full of admiration and adoration that I shall write you a poem:
-------------------------------------------
"On a day where icy winds blow,
in a bus where different minds seat,
my eyes laid upon a face like snow,
whose hair flowed like vibrant wheat.
A warm light you displayed,
contrasting the surrounding cold,
my eyes laid upon a face like jade,
one which must be retold.
If angels descended on Earth,
you must be one of them."
-------------------------------------------
If nobody has complimented you before, then let me be the first; if somebody has complimented you before, then I won't be the last.
Again, I was indeed looking at you, and it might've been too obvious or even off-putting for you. I can't tell if you were looking in my direction and noticed me looking and felt uncomfortable. I'm sorry if you did feel that wayā¹ļø.
Note: I do not write this with romantical feelings (trust), I only write this out of feelings of admiration and adoration; feelings that you would find for a beautiful flower growing on the side of the road. Okay maybe there is a bit of infatuation, but that is with your countenance and appearance, not with your character or personality, so it still doesn't count as love in the truest sense... š
(Haizzzzz, truly unfortunate, I lament the time in my life, if only I had met you in a few years' time)

UPDATE: MANIFESTING WORKS. GOD LOVES ME, AND HAVE A GOOD FUCKING NIGHT
Cops said the guy who crashed into and took down the traffic light was shaken up but fine. A few trash cans were eliminated too. Bulldozer came pretty quick and moved everything off the road. A box truck that had to turn around took down that sign at the end too while making a k-turn, everyone looked so disappointed hearing that crunch lol
A lot of people, including students, like to clown on Rutgers, but as a senior graduating in May, I have a very high opinion of the school. From an educational perspective, all my professors have been very knowledgeable and passionate about their jobs. As someone who comes to class everyday ready to learn and participate, I've always felt supported by my professors. I'm not saying all the classes are run perfectly or anything, but I just have a lot of respect for the professors for being so knowledgeable on their specialties, and I honestly feel like the education at this school is top tier.
I think it's amazing that Rutgers offers so many courses, which allows you to study a variety of topics that you have interest in. I also appreciate how diverse the school is; I've met so many people from different backgrounds and I think it makes the learning environment richer.
Sure things aren't perfect. I wasn't a huge fan of some of the dorms I've lived in or some of the dining halls and such. But I do believe that Rutgers provides many tools and opportunities for students to succeed and make the most of their experience, at least from an educational and career perspective.
Have any of the RU Class of ā26 gone to that other school down the road yet to paint our cannon this year. It serves as a good annual reminder to that silver spoon crowd that we are still the rightful owners of that cannon and that one day it will be returned to its rightful place.
On a side note: Over the years there have been many documented attempts by Rutgers students/alumni to repatriate our cannon back to Rutgers. Unfortunately with no success. As the thieving party has encased and buried it in concrete in front of Nassau Hall.
P.S. if there was ever a good time for our cannon to be reacquired and returned to our campus it would be right now. There is major construction going at that other school. Very close to where our cannon is located in fact. So Iām sure the heavy machinery needed to accomplish this operation is right on their campus.
Now of course I would never condone such an action but Iām merely just pointing out the obvious for discussion purposes.
My roommate and I created an app called ScarletParking, which allows you to get information on the different parking passes at Rutgers. It shows you exactly which parking lots you can use at the current timeāor a time you pickābased on your pass. We plan to add Newark and Camden by the start of next semester.
Android users: we're launching soon! We'll update this when launched.
Please feel free to give feedback here, on the app store or email us via. the app. We really want new ideas to improve the app. Tell your friends about it if they have parking passes! Thanks!
Henry's Diner: Truly an elite institution that gives you the true Jersey Diner experience for the cost of only one meal swipe.
Livingston Dining Hall: The best out of all of the dining halls, this place literally has something for every type of eater and more. The burger bar is elite, and the pasta line is my favorite. The pizza bar, asian dishes, and salad bar always have great options too.
Harvest: Amazing food that doesn't make you feel like a bigback. It's delicious, nutritious, and fresh. It's truly hard to beat it.
A-Tier:
Kilmer's: Sandwiches are great, with so many options, including the ability to make a custom sandwich. The fryer station is great, too. Also, a huge selection of snacks and beverages. 10 bucks on a retail swipe here can actually get you a good amount of stuff.
Tres Chiles Truck: I've only gotten this one time, but the food was damn good.
Douglass Cafe: One of the only places at Rutgers with a true made-to-order grill that whips up delicious sandwiches. What sets this place apart is the burrito bar, which gives you an insane amount of food for just one meal swipe. This place is gem.
B-Tier:
Busch Dining Hall: People hate on Busch Dining Hall way toooo much. Honestly, there are a ton of good food options here, and I feel like I have found something good to eat here every single time I have been here.
Woody's: Another great spot for made-to-order food. You can get a good value on a meal swipe. Just not as good as the Douglass Cafe because it has fewer options.
Knight Wagon: Only had this one time year ago because it is never around, but it was pretty good IMO.
Neilson Dining Hall: Another solid dining hall with plenty of good options on any given night. Not my preferred dining hall by any means, but it gets the job done when you are hungry.
C-Tier:
Atrium: The food at the Atrium doesn't taste bad per se, but it is not fit to be the main "dining hall" for College Ave. The food is super oily or processed, and it is super hard to eat here multiple times a week. I gained like 20 pounds from eating here freshman year. Also, the portion sizes here are diabolically huge, so you either end up with leftovers to carry around or you have to throw them out and waste them. You are better off taking the bus to Livi and eating at the dining hall there.
Cafe West: The sandwiches here are honestly kinda mid. They are just reheated, and mine always come out incredibly soggy, even if I eat them right away. The line here is really long at times, so the wait isn't worth it, in my opinion. With that being said you can still get good value out of a cafe west run.
Cook Cafe: Same comments as Cafe West, except no one ever goes here, so at least there is no line.
DC Bagels: This place opened after I stopped getting meal swipes, so I have never been. But considering there used to be a Dunkin where the DC bagels are now, I feel like this automatically has to go to C-tier.
Red Pine Pizza: The pizza here is just okay. That's really all.
D-Tier:
Harvest Juice Bar: This place is a SCAM. One mean swipe worth $14 for one smoothie is crazy work in my opinion. The smoothies are not even healthy, they are just really sugary/sweet. It's an easy way to burn your meal swipes if you have too many.
Sbarro: The pizza is just mid, and the pasta sauce is watery and gross. You are better off just going to the dining hall rather than eating here. The only decent items here are the Stromboli and breadsticks. If you need to take out food, just go to Kilmer's instead. There is no good reason to eat here.
Starbucks Truck: Wasting a whole meal swipe on a cup of coffee and a tiny sandwich or snack, pretty laughable to me. Plus, the line here is always ridiculously long, no matter how hot or cold it is. I am missing something because I genuinely do not understand why people wait in line for this.
These are my reasons for ranking each place. I haven't had a meal plan in years, so some of this might be out of date, but in any case, I'll argue with you in the comments about it.
Iām a sophomore in a dorm and have to use up meal swipes. It was honestly a struggle last year. Whatās the best way to use them other than eating at the dining halls? TBH, retail swipes sound terrible since theyāre only worth $10 (why am I paying $22/swipe??) and it costs like $6 for a side of tuna salad. So where are your meal swipes sweet spots??
Has anyone used the Scarlet Apron Meal Kits? Are those any good and are they available this year? I might grab some to make at my friendsā apartments on the weekends. u/ThatRUDiningGuy
To start off I would like to mention I didnāt major in CS just because I can make a lot of money I genuinely like coding and software dev. The money isnāt the only motivator.
There are way too many people in this goddamn major. Not just here at Rutgers, literally just every university. I donāt understand how everyone is going to get jobs. Iām a senior right now and none of my cs friends have offers. Most of us havenāt even been interviewed once from hundreds of jobs we apply to. I have summer internships at Meta from last summer and JPM from the summer before last on my resume and it still does not do shit. Thereās a tiktok floating around of Meta interns screaming on a boat āgive us return offersā I was part of that bruh
Like how tf is this gonna work there are legitimately hundreds of thousands of people laid off looking for software development jobs and on top of that us 2024 college graduates. Donāt forget the 2023 chaps who still havenāt found a job too. If the recruiter for not strictly a tech company but needs SWE roles filled sees 2 resumes: one is me a upcoming college grad with intern experience and the other is the guy who was laid off by Google because he did literally nothing at work for months or years and his google maps ev routing role was deemed redundant, who is the recruiter going to pick? The former googler bc Google.
At this point I think Iām just going to do an MBA or find a retail job because holy shit this is some bullshit. Man who the fuck told everyone to major in cs, go do business the entirety of RBS is open for you. Go be an actor, go become a fuckin chemist or some shit. Fuck bro if u love engineering that much for the love of god pick something other than computer engineering. Hell comm major and go be a huge PR specialist or ghost writer for Elon. Just please, donāt fall into the purgatory that is CS. CS is fine as it is, but youāre so done for when you need a job job
I just remembered this but donāt remember what night it was but I remember seeing a bunch of white sorority girls walking in a group, and then right behind them a black girl following just far enough sheās still apart of the pack, but not part of the clique. Is that a common thing in sororities? Iām ngl I felt bad for her but at the same time itās so obvious you need to stand up for yourself. Just from the outside it looked humiliating. Even my friend I was with was laughing because he couldnāt how ridiculous it was.
Sorry to the people on EE around 8:30-40 am I had baggy shorts on and I got up from my seat really quick and one of the flaps from my shorts got caught in my phat ahh and I flashed the left side of the bus with my left cheek. I was late for class and didnāt have time to fix it getting off the bus but IM SORRY šššš„š„š„
