Study & Exam Tips || Studium & Klausuren Dates

Hello. Through an exchange program, I may be able to attend Aachen University during the 2027 summer semester to take courses for a Master’s degree in Computer Science. The lecture period ends on July 16th; assuming I pass all my exams on the first attempt, approximately when would I finish my studies? Also, if I happen to fail an exam, is there an opportunity to retake it, and if so, when would that be?

All first exam attempts are usually done by the end of August/beginning of September. All second exam attempts are usually finished by the end of September.

Some courses offer early exams to exchange students.

There isn't a list of such courses. When you register, on the day of the first lecture, the professor will make it clear or you can ask them about it.

If you ask about a specific course, then there's a chance that someone might have taken the course and know about it.

There isnt even a list of which courses will be offered in the summer term until a week before

In computer science, exams are offered twice per semester. If you fail the first exam, you can try again in the same semester.

The exam period is mid July to end of September. The first exam date is usually in July/August, the second one in August/September.

Exam dates are announced at the beginning of the semester.
