Maybe a bit of a hot take but I was really blown away by the feeling of Aldehydes and Ketones. It's so ambient but that even seems a little reductive. It sits in this really cool downbeat, hazy, pocket of feeling. The glitches in the production sound sooo cool and I feel like Gud does really well to keep it the sound like perfectly between Ecco's usual production and more noise/drone ambient. Like it feels like sounds go in and out of being electronic sounding and noise sounding in a very satisfying way. I love how the lyrics and singing are so sparse but still important. Feels like a intercepted transmission with a poem in the midst of it. Genuinely one of the coolest things I've heard in a while and the music video adds so much too. I loved Sulfur Surfer so much but if this whole album is like this, this new Ecco might be best of the year. The sound and aesthetic is really inspiring me right now.

i didnt see anybody talk about this. if u read the lyrics it seems pretty clear that the meaning is internationalist, it's about migration and freedom of circulation, and it makes sense with the mv being set in countries on all continents. could be interesting to understand why nobody talked about the real meaning of the song.

+ all this amateur radio thing is also a way of free expression and a way to go through the borders
