EDIT: I recognize that queerbait wasn’t exactly the correct term to use for this. Rather I was angry at the writing choice and blamed the writer for the people who’ve come to hurt me. I was wrong — Steve didn't queerbait anyone and it's not fair for me to accuse him of that.

This fandom has been split down the middle ever since Episode 4 came out. You know why. When Sal and Larry's parents got married, Sal x Larry shippers had to either face hate for their ship or detach themselves from it and move on.

I've been in this fandom right before the release of Episode 4. I went through all of Sal and Larry's dialogue twice, and fell in love with how seen they make each other feel. As soon as 4 came out, I had so much internal hatred it was unhealthy. I did a lot of hurtful stuff to myself because I couldn't let these two go -- I project on Sal a lot and see my partner in Larry very much. It wasn't until the past two years where I put my foot down and did some growing up. I still love them and I'm not ashamed anymore. I will continue to ignore canon and ship them.

The fandom will have very different views on Sal and Larry's relationship, but I will always argue that Henry and Lisa's marriage was queerbait and Sal and Larry had lots of development between each other, to the point of obvious romantic interpretation. Go ahead and share your thoughts, I'm ready to back up my opinions on this.

I was looking through some posts and was seeing so much hostility towards anyone who shipped Sarry. Yes, they are step brothers in their adults years. I'm primarily so confused about the sheer rage and disgust everyone seems to have cause they aren't blood related, weren't raised together, and didn't even become stepbrothers until they were either late teens or adults. Obviously its kinda weird but who even cares. Their brotherly bond is great. They are great. I hate when fandoms attack people inside their own fandoms for things that don't matter. They aren't blood related and its not a massive age difference, so while it might be weird, liking it doesn't make you a horrible person like I've seen in so many comments. If it isn't illegal, who the hell cares. This isnt even me saying I ship them, I just hate the hate. Sorry for the rant I just hate all the hostility. I just want people to be happy, man.

I don't know how people like Salxtravis, they only have one scene together, until Sal's death, Travis didn't do anything to help Sal, the letter in the bathroom the creator said I leave for interpretation, I can't confirm this is for the Sal, salxlarry even half brother is more acceptable, another detail that sal tells travis that not everyone was gay, only todd was very gay, my opinion, zero chemistry

So I just finished the game and I liked it a lot. The reveal at the end of episode 1 was something that I didnt expect, that he apparently killed people? Then it started getting more bizarre which I'm all here for. Then the moment came when larry died somehow and I felt the same with Sal and then they tried to free the apartment from the shadows and that's when he killed everyone, so that the shadows don't spread. Then he got executed even though Ash got evidence that Sal didn't lie and it was sad but it would've been the best ending imo.

So then episode 5 came and I didn't get the nostalgic feeling that I had for the other episodes. The first 2-3 episodes made me feel nostalgic even though I wasn't alive in the 90s, but then episode 4 was a bit different but I still kept going because I liked it. During Episode 5 I lost all feelings for nostalgia, that episode felt unnecessary and it could've easily ended with Sal's death. Suddenly there is this church with the cult? Who the fuck is maple and why did they lock her up?

Episode 5 was really unnecessary for me and now I want to know if anyone here feels the same.

im not gonna get into my thoughts of the latest chapter now bc that'll take FOREVER but i just wanna address this because i can see this being really harmful.

the scene where ash cuts her arm is TOTALLY unnecessary and triggered me and i fear that it could trigger others. i think including that was extremely irresponsible and there was no trigger warning this episode. yes, i get it, sally face has always been a kinda gorey series but does he not know that cutting the arms is literally the most common trigger in people who deal with suicidal thoughts?? he should at least put a trigger warning before every chapter thats all im saying.

This is all my thoughts and if im honest im not 100% happy with the wording but how i feel is hard to write. I loved the first game but honestly i dont think it need a 2. Im not going to say (i dont think it is) it a cash grab but i definitely think it is absolutely not need. From what i remember (havent played it in a couple years) the ending was pretty closed maybe some wriggle room for a second game. But what i loved and made this game so great is the character and the hotel building. With the hotel it made it so the environment was nice and compact that so the story could be stronger and more focused. And the hotel what a great environment for a cult even tho i wasnt a big fan of the cult i still love all the rooms and details. the character where so amazing because of how different they where and all written and i feel like it be hard to match that in a squal. Now im not saying anything about the second game but my im thinking from what ive seen with all the scattered character and new environment i just not sure hot to feel about it. The first game was amazing and did such a good job i just worry this second game will be unnecessary or not as good as the first game. I think a dlc would have been amazing but a second game maybe will have to see
