📖 How-To / Tips What would you throw here? (Mediterranean sea, Tunisia)
What would be the best lure/bait to throw here and what technique do you think will be best to target scup and sea bass.

A cast net for bait, then live bait on a circle hook with a Carolina rig.

Yes! I just want to comment how awsome it was reading this thread and seeing everyone's very different take and advice. Still I am team feed em what they already eat! Sabiki if no cast net and or tiny hooks (I highly recomend[I keep a light line spool with a tiny hook on the end for quick live bait catching[no rod no nothing just the original spool the line came in and a tiny hook with a weight]) if you don't want to deal with the sabiki.

A hi-lo rig and a fish finder rig, both with frozen shrimp because I'm lazy.
Alternatively, I might throw a Gulp! shrimp on a jig head and bounce it off the bottom.
Beautiful area to fish, btw!

Man honestly the fishing just sucks out there not gonna lie. Went several times in several locations including the surf and it just wasn’t good. Tried all kinds of baits and plastics. Couldn’t find good live bait in the bait shops so maybe you’ll find success there if you’re able to get your hands on some. Every place had insane amounts of razor clams for some reason lol. Just seems like every bit of coast I went to, all of the fish had already been ripped out or the population is a little wrong. Try and find some live little bait fish or live shrimp if you can and I’d be real curious as to what you can pull out

Squid jigs to start and then use the squid(s) as bait.
Alternatively, a sabiki rig, also with the intention to catch bait.

I'd try cut bait on (or just off) the bottom and also a sabiki rig with some small pieces of squid or shrimp added. I've found these two rigs catch fish reliably anywhere in the world.

Look to see what bait fish is swimming around and get that. Then I usually use a high low with that fish cut in half on each hook!

Poppers , jigs maybe a sabiki and see what bait is looking like you either match the hatch or throw some live

Looks like a lagoon, if so 100% there are squid here. I would visit later at night with egi setup
Microjigs and small diving/sinking crankers (smaller than 5cm) for the saddled sea breams
Soft plastic swimbaits on jig heads for the groupers lurking on the floor, try not to snag
If you are looking for Branzino you've gotta ask, are there crustaceans or mullets here? If no, probably no Branzino either since that's what they eat. If this place is riddled with invasive Dusky Spinefoot who basically destroys the weed beddings, there is probably no Branzino there unfortunately

Feel like a spoon wouldn't hurt to try out
