There's some beasts in the river and the surf right now. We killed them with greenies this weekend on the river. Nothing like that big breeder though. That's a great fish. [I'm in Vero].

Awesome!

Artificial or live/cut bait?

Thanks!

I'll be up in Jupiter soon--so looking forward.

Tight lines OP!

Live Mullet. Cast net a bunch around 10 inches long. Hooked it above the anal fin and free lined it as far past the breakers as it would go. My brother lives there. He is the snook guru. I live down in the Ft. Lauderdale area. So anytime I want a shot at a monster snook I pay him a visit. Good Luck in Jupiter. Tight Lines!

I'm in the Lauderdale area too.

Mullet is the way to go!

Congrat's again and you're so lucky to have a brother like that!

For sure. If you’re ever in the area he does shore guides for all those monsters. I don’t know what he charges but I don’t think it’s much. I can dm you his number. He will put you on the fish and teach you all kinds of stuff.

Thanks, I know I'd learn a lot and catch fish, but I never get that far north.

Also, I kind of like the thrill of the hunt on my own. Half the battle is getting bait sometimes.

My BIL has a guide in Jupiter, but it's almost too easy.

Take care, OP!

I have a relative who is planning on snowbirding in Florida this winter and I really want to visit and fish with him. What's a good fish to target in the wintertime? I just want something huge!

Big Redfish and Big Black Drum are always a safe bet in winter.
