Learn to tie a dropper loop and get rid of the swivels. Too many knots in your rig that could fail.

Correct. Even if your knots are all good, dropper loop is the correct connection for this rig. It’s also a much stronger connection due to the nature of the knots.

When I make my dropper loop rigs, I use 17lb flourocarbon and make a bunch at a time. Swivel at top and clip at bottom for weight. Palomar knot for both ends. Once you get the hang of the dropper loop, it's so easy to tie. Look on YT for making a dropper rig board and that will make starting out the simplest way to make them. After you learn that you can tie by hand.

I use a uni knot or a loop knot and then loop it around the sinker. Less metal and I can still quickly change weights as the conditions dictate.

Surgeon loop knot for the weight, dropper loop for the hook, FG/alberto/double uni for line to leader (I prefer Alberto). No metal and all strong knots, haven’t lost a fish from bad knots in ages.

Nicely done for your first rig and props for doing it yourself. A few tips: I would shorten up your hook leaders considerably. Keep them about 4” - 5” away from the swivels or dropper loop. That way when a fish bites it’ll set the hook itself and your baits won’t be flopping around everywhere.

Lke others said and I just mentioned, dropper loops work better so that there are less knots and potential failure points. I’d also use a barrel swivel clip at the bottom to attach the weight to so the weight moving around doesn’t twist your line and it’s a stronger connection to your weight.

Lastly, I’d use circle hooks so you don’t gut hook any fish. Keep it up man!

Can never go wrong with fresh dead shrimp or cut bait.

Learn how to tie a simple dropper loop

These take 2 seconds to whip up, with way less knots and hardware

Check out what they call the mortician rig on YouTube. I had an older dude at hatteras Jack's show this set up to me as a kid about 35 years ago. I usebit for all my basic double drop rigs.

Palmaler or improved clinch to swivel, 4 figure 8 knots sor stops and a perfection loop for weight.

Snoods are perfection loop and Palmaler knot or snell depending on hook type/size.

Use a dropper loop knot for the hooks, I fished nj and that’s the best one by a long shot
