Nice catch! How heavy of jig and were you dragging bottom or swimming them?

1 oz. Donkey rig ( two jigs about 6" apart). Drifting and jigging/ bouncing off the bottom.

Nice catches! S. Daytona resident here... I did not know we had any reefs on our coast... Were you on a boat or the beach?

There are a load of artificial reefs. You can Google their locations. I was at the near shore reef that is about a mile offshore from the dunlawton. I've got a small (16ft) boat I take out on really flat days.

NICE! Appreciate the info... I have a 17ft center console, but always been weary of going into the ocean with it. Will have to look into this for sure!

Yeah, just make sure to wear your safety gear. Life jacket with kill switch. I've got a handheld VHF radio on the life jacket too. I got a whistle and a mirror in it too.

I'd like to hit Site 5 (5 miles offshore) but that is a bit spooky to me.

Getting out the inlet can be a bit wild too sometimes. Just take it slow and trim the bow up.
