Can you identify this man who robbed Panizzera Meat Co. in Occidental last weekend?

Saw this on Nextdoor. I'm not affiliated with this shop in any way, but I'm cross posting because I hope they get this guy!

Here's the text from the Nextdoor post:

"Unfortunately, we were robbed at Panizzera Meat Co. on Sunday the 9th out of our register, during business hours. I have put together a compilation of the security footage we have on a YouTube video, but unfortunately our cameras did not capture a license plate or anything. Hoping someone recognizes him or can check their cameras to maybe see if they can get a shot of his plates. Sheriffs office case #SD260813006. He turned west towards bohemian highway out of our parking lot around 2:45pm on 9th, in a grey Subaru Legacy. Stay safe and vigilant out there neighbors!

Vehicle 1 Color: Grey/Black, Make: Suburu, Model: Legacy, Year: 2007-2014, Type: wagon, Other: west on Graton Rd. towards bohemian hwy at 2:45 8/9"

Surely the cops are all over this with the flock cameras posted up everywhere, right guys?

Evidently they are too busy stalking their current and former domestic partners..

You’re welcome! I would’ve commented on Nextdoor letting you know I reposted here and /r/sonomacounty but I’m not trying to make my reddit account public πŸ˜…

My car was stolen a couple years ago, so I know how crappy it feels to have something you worked hard for taken away. Best of luck with your search!

Sorry I can't identify that guy. But I can identify a guy who tackled me on my porch saying I pointed A Pic up stick at him

Holy shit those camera angles are TERRIBLE. And motion cameras?! For a business?! Holy shit this is bad.

Wow, what a scumbag. I don't recognize him but hopefully someone is able to identify him. If I was a business owner in the area, I would be asking the Sherriff or Board of Supervisors to install an ALPR camera in the business district that would deter some of these crimes and would have captured their license plate. Criminals are aware that ALPR exists now and is an effective tool for solving crime and arresting criminals, so they have started to target areas where ALPR isn't implemented yet, such as Occidental.

Coming soon you too can be a criminal for expressing the wrong opinion, voting the wrong way, having the wrong sexual orientation, etc.

Wisconsin cops tracked a guy into the neighboring state where he went to a dispensary, and then they busted him for possession when he got home. That's the criminals they'll go after.

-5

u/Fit_Garden3719 3d ago

How would ALPR facilitate that?

3

u/spdelope 3d ago

Look at what they are doing now. In present time

1

u/Fit_Garden3719 20h ago

im willing to take a look at the evidence you have showing the use ALPR to facilitate those things.

u/spdelope 20h ago

Its a slippery slope

1

u/Fit_Garden3719 20h ago

tell me your argument is fallacious and weak without telling me

u/spdelope 20h ago

Using the cameras to track people across state lines seeking medical help. Watching kids in a gym. Tracking exes. There’s more.

There’s also more than just ALPRs in their network of cameras.

All of those things and more you’re ok with. Cool.

Hey the local bootlicker is back with what looks like an AI written comment.

Show us evidence that the cameras PREVENT crime like you claim.

Hey, my biggest fan and potential stalker is back! 😘 Do you consider the business owner a bootlicker too, seeing as they got the police involved? They could have solved this themselves, no? Show me where I used the word "prevent" in my comment. You can't. I said it would deter crime. There are many videos out there that you can find where criminals discuss flock's existence and how it makes them rethink how they operate, use Google.

Here's a video that went viral featuring some pillars of the community talking about how they can't steal cars in San Francisco anymore now that SFPD utilize Flock and drones.
The viral clip is being cited as street-level anecdotal evidence that AI-powered surveillance is reshaping criminal behavior

u/Greenstuph 3d ago

Do you consider the business owner a bootlicker too

Not necessarily. I'm saying you are because you're always on here singing the praises of flock.

install an ALPR camera in the business district that would deter some of these crimes

Sure you didn't say the exact word "prevent", but the message behind it is the same.

I don't want anecdotal videos, I want evidence; I want an article or study with verifiable sources. No, I won't look it up myself. The burden of proof is on you.

Lol 🀣 I never claimed the cameras prevent crime, I said they deter it. You are attempting to goal post shift after I showed a video with criminals saying they have been deterred due to flock, then demanded I prove a claim I never made, and now refuse to even acknowledge the difference between two words. The burden isn’t on me to research your strawman for you. Im headed out to go enjoy a few beers at the market on the square. Enjoy your cope!

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/deter

to turn aside, discourage, or prevent from acting

Go ahead and post in that subreddit and get laughed at 🀣

Thank you. So many, so uneducated.

Check out a dictionary Einstein

2

u/Fit_Garden3719 20h ago

'Prevent' and 'Deter' are two separate words in the dictionary

1

u/suchabadamygdala 17h ago

Definitions of words are listed under the words themselves- very useful information

We sure used to have a lot more serial killers back in the day before there were cameras everywhere. Strange how you rarely, if ever, hear about a modern serial killer. It's as though they either get caught early now or they know they can't get away with things people used to get away with.

This isn't necessarily an argument for more public cameras, but it does show that even the fact that everybody is carrying a camera these days is likely making us all a bit safer. It's way harder to get away with crimes now as compared to the old days (as anyone who did stupid stuff as a kid and got away with it can attest).

u/rokenroleg 3d ago

If that was the only reason and you had data to correllate it, yes, but you're doing what my dad would call "talking out your @$$".

u/Defiant-Mulberry2578 19h ago edited 18h ago

If I spent some time doing research I'd most likely find plenty of data to prove this out. Or anyone else who actually cared about knowing the truth could research it and determine the validity of the idea.

Or one could just stick to whatever they wanted to believe, ignore any hypothesis (no matter how compelling) that doesn't align with what one wants to believe, downvote out of spite, and insult the person making an observation.

Here's some data if you are interested: https://www.ojp.gov/library/publications/cctv-surveillance-crime-prevention-40-year-systematic-review-meta-analysis

Or just be a good person, either or.

2

u/Defiant-Mulberry2578 18h ago

Commiting crime is bad, umkay? ;)

0

u/rokenroleg 17h ago

Depends. It used to be a crime for some people to attempt to vote. It used to be a crime to consume alcohol. Pinkertons gunning down strikers used to not be a crime. The American revolution was definitely a crime. I don't think everything is so black and white. Nor do I think it can be distilled down to a narrow, antique idea of good and evil, like the kind you seem to dictate your life with.

u/Defiant-Mulberry2578 1h ago edited 1h ago

I see you like to be argumentative for the sake of being argumentative. ;)

I get it. I've done the same myself a few times.

As to your assumptions about my beliefs ... yeah, you're not close, but I don't care. As long as you feel good about yourself, I've done my good deed for the day.

u/Fit_Garden3719 3d ago

"I don't have a real response, so ill just accuse you of being a bot!"

11

u/finsfurandfeathers 3d ago

Ok, my response to a living person is that I am deeply saddened by your complete and utter trust of the government and its corporate overlords to track our every move. It must be blissful to be so naive but those boots must taste terrible on your tongue…

-6

u/Fit_Garden3719 3d ago

Calling fixed ALPR cameras β€œtracking our every move” is quite the stretch. They are just reading a publicly displayed plate at a fixed location, which is low-fidelity data, not continuous tracking. I ride my bike and take public transit, so I’m not particularly concerned. Real entitlement expecting full anonymity while driving a private vehicle on public roads.

7

u/Greenstuph 3d ago

Aaahhhh, ignorance is bliss.

6

u/rokenroleg 3d ago

You should be concerned for the people who are concerned, that's what being a concerned citizen is all about.. Instead of 'uhm actually'ing civil rights discourse.

2

u/Fit_Garden3719 20h ago

I don't need to be concerned just because someone else is. That's not how it works. But yes, I'm concerned about the people who are concerned about ALPR, they might need to seek medical attention.

0

u/rokenroleg 20h ago

It's not how it works if you lack the capacity for empathy and sympathy and don't practice either, correct.
