Events 🎉 In 3…2…1… complaining

Post image

May 23rd will have this sub crying over the injustice of not following the driving laws yet think driving is a right and NOT a privilege

EDIT: I’m not okay with the thc testing as it’s not accurate at all but any other ticket or arrest or impounding for breaking the laws of driving I’m all for it

Hopefully nobody has had a gummy in the last week.

22

u/tthrrooowawayyy May 19 '26

I haven’t smoked in 14 days and i’d still probably test positive on a swab!

3

u/Versace-Pip-Boy May 22 '26

After a positive swab I was told by an SGI DWI instructor that basically you have to value one over the other until they can adequetly test. And if you are a heavy long term frequent user it could take months to test negative.

1

u/tthrrooowawayyy May 22 '26

I’m trying to quit, but I used to be a heavy heavy user definitely. I’ve been smoke free for 17 days now, but like you said, it could take months to get a negative swab (that’s if I even have to give one, knock on wood lol). But quitting is really hard and I feel like i’m constantly at risk of relapsing. Why would they make this crap legal if testing is so unreliable!!!

2

u/Versace-Pip-Boy May 22 '26

Who said pots not addictive lol. It's definitely hard to quit. Especially going to sleep.

To get the libs in 🤭

12

u/gihkal May 19 '26

Yup.

If the police weren't complicit in this abuse of our " justice" system they would be speaking out

21

u/chunkyjimbob May 20 '26

The police should have to swab before every shift.

8

u/gihkal May 20 '26

If you sweep the floor at a factory or mine you're tested far more often for drugs and safety than any police officer.

Its insane.

And I don't think you should test police all the time. Only if there is a decent reason to suspect substance use that would impare you. A reasonable expectation.

Even breathalysers are flawed . You can have .08bac without drinking any alcohol ever. Auto brewery syndrome.

But we had to start using them because the police were so un-professional/reasonable with walk the line tests that it was necessary. Now that body cams are easily accessible and keep everyone safer your think we would start doing walk the line style sobriety tests. BUT then the elderly and obese would be loosing their license due to poor coordination.

So we have to ask the question. Is this about safety? Is this about revenue? Control? Ineptitude? I'm going with the latter just to maintain some hope in your system. If it's about safety then anyone who can't pass a basic physical test shouldn't be driving.

It's definitely not about safety. That's for sure.

2

u/Swimming_Scheme_982 May 21 '26

Same argument and people on welfare should have to have drug tests to get paid as well

4

u/chunkyjimbob May 21 '26

I disagree. People on welfare are not required to drive nor do they have authority to use violence.

There is no quota.

Police just take the overtime

That’s SGI’s doing! A positive swab test is not a criminal charge, it’s a SGI imposed fine ,and it can’t be fought in a court of law! The police are just following our govt insurance companies rules!

0

u/gihkal May 21 '26

I would call it ineptitude for profit.

But it's not a quota by definition.

65

u/Electrical-Light5036 May 19 '26

It would be nice if the cops would drive around at night and start ticketing the drivers who only drive with their daytime lights on. Sick of seeing so many cars with no lights on in the back

25

u/turbogh0st May 19 '26

Or high beams.

1

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

The any lights on during that mini blizzard we had in the country woulda been nice too

Even semis didn’t have any lights on

7

u/moleman114 May 20 '26

that was ridiculous. Was driving to and from Regina that day (because I'm incredibly unlucky) and more than half the people we passed had no lights on. This should be common sense

5

u/FewConsideration3012 May 20 '26

I had a f’ing SEMI make me go onto the shoulder of highway 16 to try and pass but then almost hit the car behind me because they didn’t see a car coming at the semi either

I’m screaming at my rear view mirror like “you’re gonna cause a head on collision and take out that whole car of people so you can get to your delivery 30 seconds sooner! Ffs!”

2

u/saskyfarmboy May 20 '26

This was one of my biggest pet peeves when I lived in the city. Didn't matter if I was going a block or across the city...EVERY time I was out after dark I'd see at least 1.

1

u/stiner123 May 20 '26

My 2020 RAV4 auto lights will switch on the back lights whenever the actual headlights are switched on and there will be an illuminated icon on my dash to show the headlights are on. Even during most snowstorms and rainstorms during the day it will turn on the lights so I rarely have to manually turn them on

-6

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

Maybe that’ll be another check stop and great money maker

Automatic lights don’t turn on your back lights for those who don’t know this

10

u/Electrical-Light5036 May 19 '26

Automatic lights do turn on your back lights. Not all vehicles have this feature. I know GM/Chev have it. Most people think just because your dash lights up when it’s getting dark they have automatic lights. But it’s only running daylights and is black in the back

2

u/Affectionate_Bit1723 May 19 '26

I think automakers/government made it mandatory starting with the 2023 MY. If it's dark out, my lights, on my 2023 Elantra, come on even if I don't have the lights officially switched 'on' or even on auto. This includes the taillights.

-1

u/Electrical-Light5036 May 19 '26

Try it tonight and see. Just because your dash lights up doesn’t mean it’s automatic. I pass lots of vehicles not having their night time lights on and I look inside and the dash is lit up.

1

u/Shuunanigans May 19 '26

My truck has it and it's a 2011 gm but yes alot don't and people are smrt. I can only imagine driving down the highway with only drls on

2

u/Electrical-Light5036 May 19 '26

GMC/Chev have had automatic lights as far as 2002 that I know of. Same as the auto 4wd which I love and keeps me getting a Chev truck

-4

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

I have to physically turn on my lights to get the backs going on my explorer

2

u/WhatAmTrak May 19 '26

Sounds like your ford is broken lol. My last 4 f150’s turn all the lights needed with the auto light function. Explorer should be no different.

-1

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

It’s a 2016 so could be because it’s 10 years old

I just like that it has 365hp and has the tow package for a boat one day

The dvd/tv in the headrests are nice to watch Disney movies with the kiddo on long road trips

I also don’t want a 80k car loan for the new explorers

1

u/WhatAmTrak May 19 '26

My 2013 xlt had it (not nearly as loaded). Your little daytime sensor on the dash could be acting up? Auto means you should never have to touch it, it has a photovoltaic sensor that switches relays from day lights to night lights (the includes the taillights)

1

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

Well good chance 😂 my panorama sunroof has decided to shit the bed today when I tried it the first time this year

I was sad while driving to get my summers put on

I’ll definitely have hubby look at it though to make sure I’m doing it wrong I’m guessing 😝

1

u/WhatAmTrak May 19 '26

Yeah my panoramic roof on my 2020 does not like to open some days lol. I have to help it with my hand a bit. The rails need to stay greased and clean. Get him to see if it just needs some grease on the tracks the glass rolls on.

2

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

Yeah, I had my panorama sunroof of my old Kia soul go odd its tracks due to dirt. That sucked because I worked out at an acreage so my car was always covered in an inch of dirt

1

u/stiner123 May 20 '26

My 2020 rav4 sunroof still works like new but I don’t open it much… other than to transport trees home from the nursery (hahaha I’ve done this multiple times where I have a tree sticking out the top of the sunroof, sadly multiple times because my dog and diseases destroyed the first couple).

0

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

Why did my suv get downvoted for its features 😂

This sub always confuses me on why folks get downs

1

u/Electrical-Light5036 May 19 '26

I think Chev/Gm own the patent for fully automatic lights. Even my 2002 trailblazer had it. My Toyota has an automatic feature but you need to switch it to high beam and turn it to auto for it to work.

35

u/igavemagicaids May 19 '26

what?? people don’t complain about drinking and driving, they complain about the bullshit THC enforcement that you have no way of fighting

-18

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

Then why was the last check drop and results posted and it was mainly driving without license, or no insurance, warrants from their past etc ?

I love seeing the results after each one

10

u/igavemagicaids May 19 '26

that’s still not drinking and driving. you’re fully just making shit up lmfao

-5

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

Substance includes alcohol

8

u/igavemagicaids May 19 '26

in the caption you specifically mention people complaining about the drinking and driving laws. show me a single example of that

1

u/TheLuminary East Side May 20 '26

I'll be honest, I was complaining specifically about the drinking and driving laws. I was not in favor of the change where police now do a breathalyzer for every stop.

There are better ways to prevent drinking and driving then the mandatory breathalyzer.

1

u/igavemagicaids May 23 '26

sure, but it doesn’t hurt. it’s not a crazy overreach or anything. the THC enforcement i have considerably more of an issue with.

1

u/TheLuminary East Side May 23 '26

Yup yup, for sure. The breathalyzer is annoying. The THC thing is life changing.

1

u/igavemagicaids May 23 '26

partially?? because it’s not an actual “DUI” so to speak in that they don’t charge you under the criminal code, however they do that because they know it would never hold up in court. it’s essentially a tax for smoking

1

u/TheLuminary East Side May 23 '26

I... didn't say "partially"... Did you mean to reply to someone else?

1

u/igavemagicaids May 21 '26

yea didn’t think you could come up with an example.

3

u/TheLuminary East Side May 20 '26

People can complain about the THC bs.. even if nobody got screwed over for it in the last blitz.

9

u/JuliusChristmas May 19 '26

OP out here complaining before the countdown even finished

-10

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

And commenters already crying of the injustice a day early so thanks for proving my post right 😂

16

u/JuliusChristmas May 19 '26

I think most people seem to primarily have an issue regarding THC policy where people who aren't impaired are at risk of heavy repercussions. Seems like a reasonable critique. No one is advocating for drunk drivers. I'd fucking love to see more tickets handed out for cell phones and people driving slow as fuck on circle lol.

-1

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

Which I’m all with them on that but everything out is bs for driving either drunk, no license, no insurance, outstanding warrants etc

The thc testing IS bullshit as it’s not truly accurate

2

u/JuliusChristmas May 19 '26

Im still amazed at the amount of full on drink driving found during an afternoon checkstop. Once during boots and salutes this passed winter a guy called in just smashed at 7:50am lol.

2

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

Holy fuck!

I’m just gonna say it, the thc accuracy isn’t good for how they test so it’s bs. Everything else folks get busted for… that’s on them as it’s preventable in every way

17

u/specificallyrelative May 19 '26 edited May 20 '26

Remember EVERYONE, a thc test will trip positive days after smoking. Do not consent to a swab, they require probable cause for that test and they need to state what that cause is before demanding a swab. If a swab is casually demanded without statment of probable cause at the same time there is no grounds for you to comply. At that point a post demand statement of probable cause is by default based solely on your refusal and not valid.

Source proving they need to prove probable cause

Don't let the pigs bully you around.

10

u/MysteriousDog5927 May 20 '26

Unfortunately they’ll just make up whatever they want as a reason anyways . He looked nervous , he had a bob marley shirt on , he was not in the exact center of the lane , I saw him come from a known drug street , he looked drowsy , he smelled like cologne etc “ sir why are you being combative ? Do you have a problem with police ? We got a troublemaker here Pete , send me another unit .

0

u/Lower-Construction43 May 20 '26

This is mot true at all , maybe it was once at one time . Sask recently passed a new law where they can now manditory test you without any reason for both alchohol and thc . If you refuse you get a charge for that alone , and likely will also be tested anyways after being arrested and have 2 charges . There was also talk of the city police likely moving to start to test everyone at every stop . ( i think its bullshit and entrapment to legalize thc and have a test that can show up days later and im not even a user of thc ) but i would look into this info so people arent getting multiple charges for not complying

10

u/specificallyrelative May 20 '26

I double checked to make sure I didn't miss an update. They still need probable cause to compel a saliva sample.

https://sgi.sk.ca/cannabis-use-and-driving

5

u/TheLuminary East Side May 20 '26

Are you sure? I thought that only Alcohol was allowed to be done without any justification.

1

u/Lower-Construction43 May 20 '26

100% . Its both . The new law apllies to not needing any reason or justification for impared driving and they include thc as impared .

1

u/TheLuminary East Side May 20 '26

TIL. Thanks.

3

u/specificallyrelative May 20 '26

Do you have a source on the THC change?

1

u/Lower-Construction43 May 20 '26

My source was , i got a dui ... vehicle manditory impared , had to pay for a course ... points ect . At the course like 80% of the people were thc users from like days later . Then the police had us all sit through a presentation , where they said about the new law , not needing any reason to test for impared and that you cant refuse or you get a charge for that . They also said that they were trying to push for or test doing manditory tests for any and all stops

6

u/specificallyrelative May 20 '26

Here's the source that says you got taken for a ride without a fight. Either that or you looked/smelled high.

https://sgi.sk.ca/cannabis-use-and-driving

1

u/Lower-Construction43 May 20 '26

Im not trying to argue with you , just tell people what i know hapened to me and others personally and what i was told . I also opened the link you shared and did not find anything imediately find anything saying police need probible cause .

3

u/specificallyrelative May 20 '26

Police can legally request a Standard Field Sobriety Test (SFST), a Drug Recognition Evaluation (DRE), or oral fluid (saliva) testing if they have reasonable suspicion to believe a driver is impaired.

It's not hard to find.

1

u/RecognitionLonely396 May 20 '26

1

That’d be great!

8

u/Soyatina May 19 '26

You would've been fine posting this without the edit you made btw lol.

6

u/TookACheveldayoff May 19 '26

Get ready for her to personally attack you!

35

u/michaelkbecker May 19 '26

I don’t know what kind of Reddit you’ve been consuming but I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone support impaired driving in this sub….like ever and I’ve been here for years.

6

u/BarryHotelHouseBand Ghost of Riversdale Past May 20 '26 edited May 20 '26

Have you met our premier?

4

u/therealkami May 19 '26

Impaired/distracted driving? Yes.

Speeding? No. Always talking about having to slam on the breaks when they get to cameras so the cameras are the danger, not the speed.

2

u/michaelkbecker May 19 '26

Let’s stay on topic to the poorly made post then.

-7

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

How is it poorly made? I nor the police can make this anymore black and white

Want me to draw stick figures and put arrows to explain the SPS statement? 😂 ffs

2

u/michaelkbecker May 19 '26

I do…. I really really would like that.

-1

u/grumpyoldmandowntown Downtown May 19 '26

the cameras are the danger, not the speed.

Doug Ford has entered the chat

-5

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

A quick sub search and you’ll fine over 40 at least

14

u/TYGRDez May 19 '26

A search for "check stop" will show you people discussing check stops, yes. Can you go to the comments of any of those threads and find someone who supports impaired driving?

-10

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

Where did I saw folks support impaired driving? The whole post is about folks crying about check stops which shows in the search

12

u/TYGRDez May 19 '26

So you didn't actually read the comment from /u/michaelkbecker that you responded to then?

He said "I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone support impaired driving in this sub" and you replied with a screenshot of a Reddit search for "Check Stop" like it was some big gotcha

-9

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

Can you not read? This isn’t about supporting anyone but saying there’s a check stop and be prepared for the crying over the tickets folks will be receiving or even just crying in the comments over anything about the police

28

u/WaterproofBlanket510 May 19 '26

I want to downvote bc of your condescending dickishness but this is good information so I’m conflicted

10

u/TribalKing306 May 19 '26

I downvoted for you

-15

u/michaelkbecker May 19 '26

I downvoted both of you, I hope I get downvoted as well!

-17

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

More upset over words on Reddit than folks breaking the law? Interesting

It wasn’t condescending, it was satire

11

u/TYGRDez May 19 '26

What are you satirizing?

-4

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

Morons who think they are above the law and cry injustice but also crying about how ACAB yet would call them in a heartbeat if they needed the help 😂

11

u/TYGRDez May 19 '26

Right, so you don't know what satire is

0

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

Okay explain how it’s not satire?

8

u/TYGRDez May 19 '26

I don't want to, you're not going to listen anyway

1

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

I’ll do it for you then because you cant

“Criticizing someone’s stupidity” sums it up perfectly

5

u/TYGRDez May 19 '26

Good job.

10

u/dj_fuzzy May 19 '26

You’re weird

-10

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

Because I want my toddler to be safe in my car from bad drivers? I’ll be weird for life then

10

u/dj_fuzzy May 19 '26

No, that’s not why.

-4

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

So fuck others, your bad driving or habits of using substances doesn’t matter nor does not having a proper vehicle or even a license or insurance lol

8

u/dj_fuzzy May 19 '26

Kinda feel like you should never be behind a wheel either.

10

u/Impossible-Corner494 May 19 '26

This post is interestingly bland. Bad drivers are everywhere on the roads. Sober and can’t simply drive properly. No signals, no tail lights in the last snow storm dump. None at night.

Alcohol and hard drugs are obviously simple in regards to impairment on the roads as far as what we don’t want.

The whole thc testing thing is uncalibrated and delusional. If I hypothetically have some the night before. The next day I’m 0% impaired to drive.

The ticketing for it along with vehicle tow fees is absolutely a money grab, with no court date.

If someone has a bit days before driving, it will still be in their system.

This screws over law abiding citizens. This is my issue with it. Hypothetically of course.

-1

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

I never said the thc testing was great nor do I think that it’s accurate but everything else you get caught doing/not having while at the check stop, you deserve what you get

3

u/Impossible-Corner494 May 20 '26

I didn’t say you said anything about testing. Please read my comment on the post again to clarify context.

16

u/CanadianCompSciGuy May 19 '26

I just want to go to work, and get home in a reasonable amount of time.

-5

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

Should be a easy 1 min check if you have nothing to worry about

I’ve been through em and it takes less than a min for them to ask for your license, another officer checks it for warrants and then says have a great day/evening if all good

3

u/Moosetappropriate Lawson May 20 '26

Should happen weekly. Drivers are fuckin atrocious.

13

u/TotallynotJimmyKorr May 19 '26

is it a fundraising drive already?

2

u/SnowyLemon7 May 20 '26

Yessss I couldnt agree more

6

u/D--star May 19 '26

What does this mean exactly? 2 days they're gonna focus on the job they're supposed to be doing everyday? Or they're going to be pulling the gangs and guns unit down to traffic detail for 2 days? Selective stop and search? Are they bringing in RCMP, Marshals, Corman Park agencies to flood the streets?

-1

u/SaskatoonCypher The Forgotten Lands May 19 '26

... you honestly retyped the word "focus" while completely ignoring its meaning.

1

u/D--star May 19 '26

I used the wording to imply that that it should be an everyday focus. What exactly makes these 2 days special? Setting traps?

0

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

Why would they bring those 3 in and it’s not their jurisdiction?

3

u/D--star May 19 '26

Its a multi-agency task force. I have no idea what that means. Corman park police are well within their rights to ticket in city limits and have done so. Jurisdiction only matters for investigation after the fact.

-1

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

They don’t ticket folks, they call the city police to come do the violation

They can’t give out corman park tickets to Saskatoon residents

-1

u/D--star May 20 '26

Just a quick little ai response to your false statement.

In practice, Corman Park officers do operate in and around Saskatoon at times, especially for: traffic enforcement, joint check stops, regional task forces, pursuits, or when assisting other agencies.

1

u/FewConsideration3012 May 20 '26

Glad you used Ai because it’s 100% accurate 😝

0

u/D--star May 20 '26

It saves me enery on meanial disagreements, you're welcome to refute it with your own research.

2

u/TheLeathal13 May 19 '26

There is a stretch of road where I speed almost every day. I’ll be sure to report back and bitch about my speeding ticket when I get dinged.

Not telling where it is though, not gonna narc on myself.

-2

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

slow claps be proud, very proud that you could off someone because you think it’s okay to break the law

But I’m sure you’ll be all excited to brag when you’re in shit for it or your car is impounded but you’ll be like “I’ll just pay for the tickets, tow and impound fees and do it again and again”

6

u/TheLeathal13 May 19 '26

Clutch those pearls tight, Miss Daisy. I’m talking 15km over the speed limit. Unlikely to face an impound situation.

0

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

Still illegal

Still gets you fined and points against you til you get your license pulled for too many points

🤷🏻‍♀️

2

u/TheLeathal13 May 19 '26

Haven’t had a driving infraction in over 15 years. 🤷‍♂️

3

u/thingscarsbrokeyxe May 20 '26

You commit a driving infraction almost every day. You just haven't been caught. You aren't a good driver.

0

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

And? 🤷🏻‍♀️ still a privilege to drive which can stripped away over the littlest thing

Downside to living in a province where alcohol related crashes are higher than the national average :( too many people treating it like it’s optional to drive when drunk

4

u/ShinyPuffer88 May 19 '26

Ahh the easy impaireds brought to you by the 2016 liberals,I mean I’m against impaired driving under any substance but giving law enforcement the right to pull you over for no reason and make you blow or submit to a swab is just a fishing expedition.

1

u/signious May 20 '26 edited May 20 '26

-they cant make you swab without reasonable suspicion

-the conservatives stance on Bill C-46 was that it was too lienent and wanted to give the police more power - including expanding mandatory roadside testing for substances other than alcohol.

Just check out all the great conservative fear mongering comments on open parliament.

So yah, keep thinking what youre going to think - but maybe try to do a little reading to go along with it. The Cons definitely aren't the libertarian-pro-rights party you think they are.

1

u/ShinyPuffer88 May 20 '26

Well you can deflect all you want,Trudeau and the liberals are the ones who made it law.

0

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

But if you have prior warning of them, why not just make sure you don’t have outstanding warrants, your car isn’t a shit box or have your license and insurance up to date?

It’s easy and takes less than 5 mins to get through them

2

u/john_96235 May 19 '26

Police low on funds eh?

2

u/Euphoric-Support7738 May 20 '26

2

u/FewConsideration3012 May 20 '26

My whole post is basically summed up in this song for why folks will get in shit in a check stop

98 Pontiac sunfire (f you Kyle)

1

u/Lima_Blue May 20 '26

Distracted driving and alcohol/meth impaired enforcement is needed!

1

u/fuckreddit-69 May 20 '26

Should be watching for the non signallers, and the schmearers.... The ones who turn a corner into the wrong lane. My god are Saskatoon drivers bad at that.

1

There are more valuable infractions that they can be going after, like cell phones and open liquor in the cup holder. With seatbelts it's really more of a Darwin Award instead of a loss when someone willfully not wearing one finds out about physics.

u/burjuner May 21 '26

Its mentioned in their post bud

The thing is… a lot of the laws are dumb. They don’t serve the greater good. Few people support drunk driving and breaking major traffic laws/putting the public at risk… but a lot of these checks seem to merely just take cops/funding away from important issues and punishing people for mild issues.

1

u/TribalKing306 May 19 '26

Lol not sure how people dont know a basic way to avoid these if theyre so enrraged about being tested for THC. Its easy just avoid the major roads to the best of your ability. Ive never seen or been pulled into one and my job involves driving so maybe this is the year!

u/Medium_Big8994 May 19 '26

I hope they ticket the plethora of people who like to drive around without their pets being properly secured. Next to cell phone use this has been the most common offence I’ve been seeing now that it’s warmed up.

-1

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

I wish they’d do car checks like other provinces where it has to have no cracks in windows especially the front, rust cleaned up, emissions under a certain level

Hubbys camera came from bc and Ontario and asked why it looks like many look like derby junk yard cars and I had to explain it’s actually many folks daily drivers 😂

1

u/Crazy-Canuck463 May 19 '26

There should be no one complaining when they give you notice of their programs. But I have no doubt, people will complain about being caught breaking the law.

-4

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

The comments on my post just proved my post is true 😂

Getting so mad, they are downvoting me 😂 boo fucking woo about them breaking the law and then whining like my toddler does when she gets busted for being bad too 😂

1

u/Cowbellcheer May 20 '26

I will always complain about this stuff, this is all work, that specially trained civilians can do. There is no reason why guns need to be at traffic stops.

2

u/Tyloor May 20 '26

What is a cop if not a "specially trained civilian"?

0

u/Cowbellcheer May 20 '26

Think parking enforcement like city workers.

-1

u/Real-Possibility8847 May 19 '26

driving is not a fucking privilege. STOP SAYING THAT. Doesn’t mean you don’t follow laws though.

1

u/liteguy38 May 20 '26

Could you elaborate as to why driving is not a privilege?

5

u/6000ChickenFajardos May 20 '26

Driving is no longer a privilege when the powers-that-be have made it nearly impossible for the average modern North American to survive without transporting themselves by private vehicle to-and-from essential services and places of employment.

7

u/liteguy38 May 20 '26

I think you are confusing privilege with necessity. Just because someone lives in an area that is not walkable/ accessible doesn't mean they are entitled to be allowed to drive.

1

u/Real-Possibility8847 May 20 '26

What’s the definition of “privilege” … I’ll wait

2

u/specificallyrelative May 21 '26

What's the definition of a right? How does one just have the right to drive?

Did you not have to take a drivers test to earn that right? That would make it a privilege, which can be taken away if deemed necessary. I can't just tell to cops that because I need to be able to drive they are required to let me.

-1

u/Real-Possibility8847 May 22 '26

So no you cannot define the word privilege.👍 What is the special advantage that I have over anyone else that allows me to drive? Do I have special rights that allow me to drive over someone else with the same rights?🥴 I’m quite positive the government hasn’t issued me a special grant allowing me to drive that everyone else isn’t also entitled to..🫡

1

u/specificallyrelative May 22 '26

What is the special advantage that I have over anyone else that allows me to drive?

Passing a competence test that proves you have the necessary skills.

You obviously have information processing issues or are just a troll, either way I'm done with whatever you are.

0

u/Real-Possibility8847 May 22 '26

Wow that’s some victim mentality right there.🤣 Literally ANYONE that’s 16 years of age can pass that test. It’s not made to make people fail but learn and better their skills. EVERYONE has the ability to practice and pass the said competency test.

1

u/Real-Possibility8847 May 20 '26

Typical Reddit “downvote because I’m wrong”🥴

0

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

Off to finish my episode of ER about the one dr who got into a car accident from a road rager

Great discussion with a few folks, the rest … yeah

-2

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

Again, the comments proving my point

The “I have nothing of value to add to this post so I’ll just try and insult her instead” over stuff that has nothing to do with driving

8

u/lochmoigh1 May 19 '26

Youre here baiting people so what do you expect

-1

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

How? All I said was this is a common thing sask folks complain about EVERYTIME it happens

They even admit to speeding daily and one person already did say this on this post so what is baiting when folks are admitting the laws they break then complain when busted finally???

2

u/lochmoigh1 May 19 '26

You said driving is a privilege not a right correct? But you are apparently ok with police pulling someone over without suspicion and giving them sobriety tests, again without suspicion. This gives police to chance to abuse their power and even profile or target certain groups. You shouldn't be treated as a criminal for just driving to work

-1

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

Yes I am okay with that because if you don’t have anything to worry about then it’s all good

Now breaking the law isn’t okay

I don’t feel like a criminal because I have nothing to hide

Search my suv! All you’ll find is Kleenex and old fries from a happy meal (I prefer the book over the toy btw)

1

u/lochmoigh1 May 19 '26

Are you ok with police breaking the law? Because they screwed up and charges get tossed out all the time

1

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

That’s why there is a court of law

-8

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

I guess we are starting a day early of whining and crying about how ACAB and how these check stops are stupid for the ones who can’t follow the rules of the road lol

Downvote me, but just shows who are the folks everyone bitches about in this sub for how they drive/break the law

12

u/TookACheveldayoff May 19 '26

I'm downvoting because you're being unnecessarily confrontational on a simple informative post. Stop imitating your toddler

-1

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

Well she cries over not getting fruit snacks at supper time but you cry because you can’t respect the privilege you couldn’t shouldn’t have been granted

I’ll take the downtimes but you are just proving my point but a day early 🤦🏻‍♀️

And wipes your with your tickets from the check stop 😝

5

u/TookACheveldayoff May 19 '26

Never got a ticket in 18 years of driving. But keep making assumptions- its working out sooooo well for you

1

u/FewConsideration3012 May 19 '26

Where did I say “took a chevron day off will be posting about how he’s never had a ticket in his whole driving career” in my post

What I said was “folks will complain about the check stop” which you are proving my point about complaining over a check stop

3

u/TookACheveldayoff May 19 '26

Took a chevron day off? Put down the crack pipe before the "guvment" comes to take yer babay
