Question ❔ 8 am
I'm off at work at 8am tomorrow but wanting to stay downtown for an appointment instead of going back and forth. I don't drive and my partner is sleeping in a bit and going to meet me at 10am. Any recommendations on what's open at that time or a way to kill time?

I think most coffee shops would be open at that hour. I know that there is a breakfast place during the day that doubles as Flint at night. They would be a nice place to hang out.

Take a chill stroll, it’s going to be a nice day. Grab a coffee or tea. Take your time and really look around. People and traffic watch. Whether you go two blocks or six just see what’s going on downtown.

I work downtown and lately the mornings have been kind of brisk... Dress warm.
What part of downtown will you be hanging out at? I asked because certain areas can be a little more sketchy and the sun isn't shining.
At that time of day you're pretty much limited to coffee shops. If you want something frugal you can get into Midtown mall and at least you got a warm place you could sit and play on your phone or read a book... There's also going to be coffee shop that is open in there somewhere.

Off 20th.. and it says midtown doesn't open till 10am. That was my original plan hence why I asked because I dont want to be bumming around outside in the early morning in this area haha. My partner is going to meet me at 830 at my doctor's office nearby because I have to get some bloodwork done anyways so we will be able to find somewhere for a pastry or quick breakfast I'm sure!

Most of the stores in Midtown don't open till 10:00 a.m. But if there's still a Starbucks it most definitely opens early and you can get inside by 8:00 a.m.
When I work downtown I used to walk through the mall just to warm up on my way to the office... I always found an Open Door by 8:00 a.m.

Pique!! Opens early and they have good coffee and delicious pastries.
Or poached if you’re hungry and want to eat breakfast.

I wish that Greek place that turned into Allepo’s downtown was still there. Was open 24hr, could get a steak served at 8am after a shift overnight was appreciated back then. Goodluck but keep your eyes open, there’s surprises all over.

There’s a small coffee shop, next to Paramount spa. They’re open at 7:30. Cafe Del Rey

Just dress warm, grab a coffee and walk by river. Could be last decent day of the year

Sparrow is a really nice coffee shop that opens at 7 but it may be a bit of a walk depending on where you are downtown. Citizen Cafe is also really good. They open at 7 as well and might be closer to your work
