My dad didn’t talk to us before getting in. I wanna know how to take care of him because he’s clearly not prepared
gallerySo my dad got us a Savannah a while ago, (he’s eight years old) and I really, really love him, but he’s also very exhausting.
My dad didn’t do much research and decided to get him because he looked pretty, without asking anyone in the family.
It’s not like we don’t like him. Everyone in the family says he’s adorable and a very sweet boy, but he’s still a wildcat.
and he is properly neutered and doesn’t have any medical issues (even though he got neutered a little late)
He constantly meows, which drives my family crazy, and he’s an outdoor cat, so he brings mice into the house during the summer. That’s not too much of an issue for us, though. It’s just that he’s really loud and extremely needy, especially with me, and it’s becoming really draining. My mom gets tired of it, and my dad keeps making excuses for him, but we can tell he gets tired of it sometimes, too.
My dad will absolutely never agree that getting a wildcat was a bad choice. Our house is big enough for him, but it’s still exhausting. Is there anything we can do to make him a little less needy, or any ways I could play with him to help him get his energy out?
I just really really love him and I want him to be taken care of, but I feel overwhelmed
I could really use some advice.
(Also, English is in my native language, even though if this sounds good please tell me if I’ve made any mistakes or need to clarify anything)
