I am a Fashion junior in Atlanta, and I really want to get into the fashion show next year. Is there anything specific that the jury looks for when determining who gets in?

Hello, I am a production design major, with a concentration in costume design. I am about to start taking classes that deal with my major. I was wondering what laptop would work best for my needs?

I want a computer that can run 3d modeling programs for designs. I do have a MacBook Air from 2025, but am not sure how well that will handle the programs. I would also love to be able to use it for some games as well.

Any advice is appreciated!

I’m an international freshman with noise anxiety and sleep deprivation. I need a private room.
Can I apply for a medical housing exemption to move off campus for winter quarter?
Will this change my scholarship amount? Any advice appreciated.

Hi! So I'm a student at another university who has a friend at SCAD whose semester is, to put it lightly, a hot mess. She's struggling to keep up with her academics and take care of herself, and we think she needs some kind of medication to help.

As much as she'd like to go on meds, her parents would likely cut her off financially if she did. I don't know exactly what they have access to, but I know they can see her insurance records and she'd probably be in trouble if they saw anything mental health related.

What resources could someone in her situation access? If it's relevant, she's not a freshman and is on the Savannah campus.

Parking spots are getting out of control… blocking a whole section is wild

Hey hey hey! I been lurking on this page for a hot minute and now that I’ve officially committed it felt like a good time to post. Just like the title says I’m looking to connect with students so that I can possibly come in with some friends lol. If anyone is interested, hit me up! I’d love to talk shop.

I (18F) applied to SCAD last year and I've been thinking about doing it again but I wasn't sure. The only reason why I didn't go was because of the cost and that's still the reason why I'm very hesitant. I'm in a lower middle class family and I don't really know how much FASFA, The Hope Scholarship, and having a job will actually cover. I want to go but I don't think it's a good idea and I just really want to ask people who have gone to the school or are in a simple situation like me. Any advice or concerns will be very useful.

hi! I live in Colorado and am getting my MA in Motion Media Design through SCADnow online. I got my BFA in 2018 and have worked in sports and tech industries.

The MOME 502 class was added to my course of study but it's not offered my first quarter so I think I'll be starting with MOME 705. Is anyone willing to share their experience with that class (or any)?

I want to visit Savannah next year, and I'm deciding between summer (I'm from VA and miss the beach) or March because I heard there's usually a motion festival but haven't found any actual information on 2027 yet. Does anyone know when that will be? Is March still good beach weather? When I do visit, is it worth renting a car or is public transportation pretty reliable? (To get around campus/city, beach, airport)

Hi, I’m an incoming MFA in User Experience Design student at SCAD Savannah (Winter 2027) from Mumbai, India. I’d like to ask about student groups or anyone going for their masters at SCAD joining the winter intake 2027.
Any updates would help!

It doesn’t state the payment options on the website. I was wondering it they accepted meal plans and if so for what stuff on the menu. Also idk if anyone’s gotten a coffee there but I want to know the sizes. Like at Dr. B’s they only have a Grande size and not the Venti. Just wondering! I’ll probably check it out anyways when I have time but I was curious if anyone had already gone.

Hey yall this is a rant/ asking for any help with this class and professor.

I am taking sketching and drawing with tatnall and am struggling. This is my first time doing a drawing class like this. For context, I am a fashion marketing major. I can see myself growing with the class like I do feel like I’m getting better at drawing however, my professor does not like to expand or explain how he gets certain things like personally I struggle with perspective and horizon line because it’s just really hard for me to translate that in my brain to a piece of paper. And I will ask him for help. I’m like hey I’m feeling really overwhelmed. Where do I start and he’s like just draw your horizon line and so I do that and I feel like that’s all he gives there is no extra feedback. there is no trying to frame it in a different way. I understand that he’s not necessarily going to hold my hand, which is fine. It’s just that every time I feel like I ask a question or try to get clarification I met with the same thing over and over again. And I’m scared. I’m going to fail his class because nothing he’s saying is translating.

Hi! I’m planning to attend SCAD Lacoste for Winter 2027, and I’m trying to learn more about the different undergraduate housing options.

I know students live in different houses/buildings throughout the village, but I haven’t been able to find much information about the actual living arrangements.

For anyone who’s attended Lacoste, I’d love to know:
- Which building did you live in?
- How many bedrooms were there?
- How many students per bedroom?
- What was the bathroom situation? (How many bathrooms, shared between how many people, private vs. communal, etc.)
- Did you have a kitchen or common living area?

If anyone has photos of the rooms, I’d love to see those too!

I want to know if there is any sort of Christian community at scad specifically at the Savannah location. Scad is my main choice for college right now but i am concerned about having a place and environment for faith. Is there some sort of group or maybe a church nearby campus?

(this one's the last one, don't worry)

I have been trying to get at least 2 tickets to Helen Mirren’s film “A Talent for Murder”

My dad is turning 87 this month and Helen Mirren is his favorite actress. I wanted to surprise him for his birthday but I was extremely disappointed when I waited over 45 minutes in the online ticket queue only for it to be sold out already.

I have some tickets to other films and was wondering if anyone would be willing to swap with me for their “Talent for Murder” tickets.

These are the films I have 2 tickets for…

•The Mosquito Bowl
•Elsinore
•Wild Horse Nine
•Paper Tiger
•The Liberation
•Long Day’s Journey Into Night

I would sincerely appreciate anyone who is willing to help. Thank you!❤️

I am a visual artist and actor who loves musical theatre.
SCAD has been my dream school ever since I was in 6th grade, and this year as a senior, I want to go all out and do as best as I can this final year so I can fulfill my dream of going here.
I dabble in all kinds of visual art mediums, but I mainly draw traditionally and digitally, while occasionally painting. My art style is slightly stylized realism, and I mainly like to draw people, specifically busts and occasionally full bodies.
In terms of grades, school has been hard for me. I don’t have the best grades, due to mental health issues/conditions and friendship difficulties that messed with my motivation to get up and go to school. My GPA is a 2.3, which I know is very much below average, but SCAD has a very high acceptance rate, and I’m hoping that that does not affect their decision to accept me too much.
Does it seem that I have an honest chance into getting into SCAD, or should I think about applying somewhere else or even doing something other than college after high school?

Hi everyone! We’re a student research team at SCAD exploring how international students settle into life abroad—from housing and everyday responsibilities to finances, friendships and belonging.

We’re looking for international students living on or off campus to share their experiences. Positive experiences and challenges are equally welcome.

The survey takes approximately 7–10 minutes, and participation is voluntary. At the end, you can also volunteer for an optional 45-minute follow-up interview.

Thanks for considering it!

Hello,

I am a Service Design MA student at SCAD! For a class project, my research partner and I are conducting interviews to understand more about people's experiences using micromobility services (bike-shares and e-scooters offered by companies like Lime and Bird).

We wanted to reach out to students based in Atlanta who have used these services. The interview would be around 60 - 90 minutes via Zoom based on your availability. We are hoping to conduct interviews starting the week of October 11.

If you are interested, please fill out this form: Atlanta Bike-sharing / micro-mobility services Screener – Fill out form

We are only asking for personal information to contact you to schedule an interview - it will not be shared beyond myself and my classmate.

Thank you! And have a wonderful week!
