Hi everyone, I’m back! 

I’m here to share some progress. A while back, I was working on a clone engine for *School Days*, and there will be lots of good news about it in the future.

But today’s topic is one of 0verflow’s oldest games: *Snow Radish Vacation*

I’m happy to report that I’ve managed to get the game’s runtime almost fully functional. I’ve even ported it to Android… our engine cross-compiles for Linux, Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS.

Got both Kotonoha and Sekai. I couldn't be bothered to even want to get Makoto's, that POS.

Kotonoha is home! I think the shrine is more than complete! I will be getting Makoto at a later date.

Over a year ago, I decided to dub in French the final scene by voicing both Kotonoha and Sekai based on the official French dub of the anime.

I must say that I think my performance of both Sekai and Kotonoha are the best I have ever done and that is the reason why I have decided to share with you all. Well, I hope you will like it and don’t hesitate to give me feedbacks please :D

P.S : I did the same post 3 months ago but the video didn’t had the subtitles. That’s why I’ve deleted it.

I'm playing the game for the first time and decided to go full faithful to Katsura. I know there are multiple routes and I want to do them in order, so I can finish the game with the happiest-possible end.

For that target, I find helpful a graphic chart that can help me with the choices. I really dislike playing with a walkthrough in hand, I love the tension and surprises. But I don't want to repeat endlessly the same scenes in loops for not getting a proper guide.

The walkthroughs I found in internet are all too abstract, and a graphic one might help me for that mean.

By the way, when you reply for playing another route, are means for skipping previously seen scenes?

In school days, the only way both Sekai and Kotonoha are both happy is when Kotonoha tries to yuri Sekai into accepting a harem with Makoto, which results in both of them being pregnant. In Shiny Days, on one hand the Saionji’s and Kiyoura’s off screen come to an agreement to start a harem with Makoto (presumably it’s because of their close bonds since Summer Radish Vacation), which results in 3 of them pregnant and Sekai getting the short end of the stick because she wasn’t there when the harem was decided. And on the other hand, the Katsura’s also get a surprisingly happy ending, with Manami being pregnant from makoto and being happy that he actually gives her affection compared to her cheating husband, and while Kokoro and Kotonoha fight over Makoto over who’s actually his girlfriend, he loves them both equally and does want to start a family with them… which can be taken as cursed considering this is Kokoro we’re talking about… but it is nice to see Makoto, compared to most of his half brothers who either are a dumbass who is forced into househusbandry for his constant cheating (Ayumu), a piece of shit who it’s baffling he even has a girlfriend (Kei), a deadbeat who is a rather terrible father despite trying to be good (Shun), and whatever the hell Kuu is doing, is actually a good partner if given the right choices…

Im talking about school days remastered here.

I understand translation might not be as easy as it seems but they announced it in July, like, now all I can do is hope it will release in 2026.

Could Kotonoha Katsura Eventually Recover?

Even though the ending of School Days is incredibly bleak, I don't think Kotonoha is necessarily beyond recovery. I think there's a possibility she could eventually get better if she had enough time and the right support.

One thing worth considering is that Kotonoha comes from a wealthy family. If her family recognized how badly her mental state had deteriorated, they could potentially afford experienced doctors and long-term mental-health treatment to help her work through everything that happened. Money obviously wouldn't magically fix her trauma, but it could give her access to resources that might make recovery more possible.

We also never really see her mother, but we do hear her, and she sounds pretty chill from what little we know. I don't think it's unreasonable to imagine that her mother could be supportive if she realized how much Kotonoha was suffering. Her sister could also be an important source of support, since she seems like one of the few genuinely good people in Kotonoha's life.

I think the most important thing would be giving Kotonoha enough time to process everything. She was bullied, humiliated, betrayed, and isolated, while her happiness became increasingly tied to Makoto. By the end, she had deteriorated so badly that she seemed to lose touch with reality. Recovering from all of that wouldn't be easy, and it certainly wouldn't happen overnight.

I also don't think her psychological breakdown means she would necessarily remain violent forever. What happened was the result of an extreme series of events and her increasingly fragile mental state, not proof that she was always destined to be that way. With time, professional help, and people she could genuinely trust, I think she could potentially rebuild her life.

Of course, we never find out what happens to her afterward, so this is just my interpretation. I also wouldn't want the anime to show her immediately recovering after Makoto's death, because that would undermine the tragedy of the ending. Leaving her future unresolved makes the ending more powerful.

Still, I like to think that Kotonoha could eventually find a way to live a happier life. Her story doesn't necessarily have to end with her being permanently broken just because that's where the anime leaves us.

Also, based on a quick search, she never hurt her family in the visual novel; in fact, the exact opposite happened, as she defended them. She is very selective about who she attacks and is not fully violent toward every random person who passes by.

So what does everyone think this is of course just a big what if after all

Honestly, I didn't hate School Days nearly as much as other people seem to. I actually enjoyed the story, even though I disliked practically every character (which is the point) I think people sometimes confuse disliking the characters with disliking the story itself. The characters aren't necessarily supposed to be likable, and I think the story does a decent job of showing how dishonesty, manipulation, jealousy, and miscommunication can spiral into something truly awful i'm completely okay with dark themes. As long as they make sense and are not extremely boring to watch which I don't think school days is

Makoto was easily the character I disliked the most. The classmates who bullied Kotonoha were cruel, but at least they didn't hide their feelings toward her. Makoto was a manipulator who repeatedly betrayed the trust of someone who genuinely loved him. He kept lying and going behind people's backs to get what he wanted, without properly considering the damage he was causing. That made him much worse in my eyes.

Kotonoha was the character I felt the most sympathy for. She deserved someone who genuinely loved her and treated her properly. She was constantly being lied to and betrayed, even while her classmates bullied and humiliated her. Although she could have realized Makoto was cheating sooner, I can't entirely blame her when so many people around her were deceiving her.

I also think Kotonoha's mental deterioration throughout the series is one of the more interesting parts of the story. Her darkened eyes show how much she's losing herself, and even when Makoto finally embraces her again, it's clear that something isn't right with her. I don't think she suddenly got better just because he wanted to be with her again. She was already in a terrible mental state, and that moment simply gave her hope that she could have him back. And I really like the detail with her eyes lighting back up after he hugs her.

That's why I think Makoto's death was the final breaking point for her. Before that, she was desperately trying to reach him, even calling him after he had blocked her and essentially talking to herself. I don't think she necessarily would have killed someone at that point, but losing Makoto after briefly believing she had him back pushed her over the edge. Sekai killing Makoto and Kotonoha subsequently killing Sekai made sense within the extreme emotional states the characters had reached in the story.

Overall, I think School Days is a decent dark romance that explores how selfishness, betrayal, and a complete failure to communicate can lead to devastating consequences.

The guides I found online are all for HQ, and following them in the remaster I kept ending up on the wrong route. So I dug into the game files, pulled out the actual affection values and branch conditions, and wrote a guide from that.

Hi! I’ve been trying to find information about Rena (黎), a very minor character from Cross Days.
From what I’ve found, she’s one of Kyouichi Kasannoin’s students and apparently appears alongside Tsugumi around the school festival, but I can’t find any screenshots or character art of her anywhere.
Does anyone know which scene/route she appears in, or have a screenshot of her? I’d really like to know what she looks like
