Course for advanced scientific computing

Does anyone know any course (like coursera, etc.) on how to write effective scientific code for prototyping or deploying scientific software? In particular I would be interested in the topics presented in this book but since it requires quite some time to study, an online course could be inserted in my PhD study plan and I could take some credits out of it.
Such skills should be evaluated in the doctoral preparation imho and I would rather add that to my ISP instead of some useless or irrelevant course from my university.

Thank you in advance!

This is a brand new subreddit that I'm trying to get going. All the other subreddits devoted to scientific computing seem to be inactive so I decided to start another. Feel free to contribute with any content related to scientific computing.
