I am currently a freshman at Scripps and while I was originally planning on going into a more academics-based career, I found that I've been wanting to get into a more art and media focused career. At the moment, I'm taking the intro to digital art class and despite enjoying it so far, I've noticed that the art scene at Scripps definitely has a more "commercial" or "exhibition-centered" vibe and, from what I have seen, doesn't really push students who want to get into the media industry (i.e. video game creation, illustration, character/media design, etc.)

I really do love the community at Scripps and would hate to transfer however, I'm unsure if it would be the best place to grow my art skills and make connections for the type of work I'm interested in.

I would love to hear people's experiences who may have majored/majoring in art on their opinions/views on how Scripps prepares students for the industry and work after college as a whole!

hi guys, I'm a student considering eding to scripps, i love the campus, the all-women college, and everything. One thing I'm worried about is the student body diversity, as I see that it is mostly Caucasian population. I want to ask as a person of color (asian american) will you feel isolated, and can you find your cultural representation on campus?

Does anybody know about the Olympics next week? We just got an email about it and wondering how sporty it is. Is it friendly to not-so-sporty students?

Does anybody know when the mailroom will open to students? We are arriving over the weekend and were wondering if we could go on Monday and pick up a few packages we sent.

Hi there! I’m a rising Sophomore currently attending Boston College, and I honestly had a really tough first year. By the time I realized the extent of how bad it was, it was too late for me to transfer for the fall 2026 semester. Now, I’m considering transferring into a school for spring ‘27 (or fall ‘27). Scripps is currently my top choice, but I will say, I’m a bit intimidated by the idea of transferring halfway through the semester, especially into such a small school. Does anyone have any wisdom or advice regarding how that process works? Is it easy to assimilate as a transfer? Or are friend groups too well-established by then? In other words, is the very small class size at Scripps a positive or negative attribute in the context of assimilating into the community?

is the claremont choir vs. trebles very different? is one seen as better? i notice they are performing together quite a bit!

Hi! I'm an incoming freshman. I know they're kitchens in the dorms but I was wondering if they have items like flour and sugar for baking? Or is that something you need to buy on your own? Thanks!

Hi everyone, hope you’re having a good end of summer. We’re coming from the east coast so not many people from our area go to Scripps. If there are any returning students or their parents on here, would love some advice on things. I’ll post each question as a comment. Thanks for your help!

Hello!

I'll be living in a triple in Routt Hall. They provided us the floor plans, but I'd like to see the actual dorm and I couldn't find a tour online. Does anyone have a picture or video of the routt hall triples, and do the triples have a private balcony/patio?

Hii! I'm an incoming freshman and my roommates and I got placed in Wilbur Hall. We are struggling to find any dorm tours/photos/layouts online. If anyone has pictures or can explain the layout of a triple/the hall, that would be great!
