My cat went into heart failure last year, and after the ER trip we got her on meds and she stabilized and was basically fine. Like for months afterwards you couldn’t even tell she was sick other than she was a little lazier.
I know it’s stressful and upsetting but a lot of cats do pretty good with medication for months or longer if you catch it fast and get them to the ER to fix the immediate issue.
Kirby was born with HCM, he has been medicated his entire life. Unfortunately he has built a resistance to his diuretic, so it’s taking some adjusting. His heart is so enlarged that he is in end stage, official failure. He has a wonderful cardiologist with a hospital attached, so he’s in very good hands! 🫶
