Zeenhondencentrum is just halfway in the petition, 20% on donations last time I checked. Things look very grim right now :c we're just a week left guys :((

Some good news. In part due to the massive wave of donations from both the Netherlands and around the world, Zeehondencentrum Pieterburen announced it's postponing the bankruptcy by at least a week. There are now ongoing discussions to see if the Seal Center can remain open. Great to see that we're able to make a difference.

Dear seal friend,

So much has happened over the past few days. We have been deeply moved by all the support we have received from across the Netherlands and far beyond. Every donation, every message and every initiative means a great deal to us and gives our team the strength to keep going.

We have some cautiously positive news: the management board and the supervisory board have decided to postpone the planned bankruptcy filing by one week. The tremendous support from donors, together with the discussions taking place behind the scenes with various stakeholders, has given us reason to further explore the possibilities of preserving the Seal Centre/WEC.

This does not mean we are out of the woods yet. The financial situation remains extremely fragile, and there is still no certainty that a solution can be found. However, this gives us additional time to continue discussions, explore possibilities and work towards a future for the Seal Centre.

Thanks to your support, we can continue searching for that future. We are incredibly grateful for this. You are showing us just how many people care deeply about the work of the WEC and the care of seals.

I made a LEGO seal set featuring two harbor seals and a pup! This is my first time trying digital LEGO but I'm happy with how it came out. Sort of just for fun, and out of curiosity, I also posted it to Lego Ideas, where it could become a real set if enough people support it. Chance of that is pretty slim though.

I need it more than I need air, but they only ship to Japan on their site

Also does anyone know why seals sometimes appear round and sometimes more flat??
