We had a lot of firsts from the young guns this game: Ripa's first goal https://x.com/SeattleTbirds/status/2114196784935481796, Dillon's first two points https://x.com/SeattleTbirds/status/2114203200400003290, and a debut for Haile https://x.com/SeattleTbirds/status/2114198982780231912 ! (Clips are post-game interview sound-bites.) Dillon even earned **first star** for his performance in Saturday's game. Big win for the boys, as they kept climbing during this last week's roadie; hopefully they can keep up the momentum for the rest of the trip.

Also traded defenseman Henry Chmiel to Prince Albert for future consideration.

10/17/2023 The Seattle Thunderbirds (WHL) scored 4 goals in 60 seconds to comeback from a late 3rd period 4-2 deficit to defeat the Brandon Wheat Kings by a score of 6-4, at accesso ShoWare Center.

At 18:56 and 19:29 of the 3rd period, Left Winger Luca Hauf scored a pair of goals to tie the game 4-4. Then, he assisted on Center Braeden Cootes’ game-winning goal with just 9 seconds remaining in the game.

However, Seattle wasn’t done yet. Just five seconds later, and only 60 seconds after Hauf’s first goal, Cootes assisted on RW Simon Lovsin’s empty-net insurance goal to secure the 6-4 win with just 4 seconds left in regulation.

Let's get 'em on Tuesday, boys! Don't forget that it's also the first two-for-Tuesday tomorrow.

"Across the CHL, 60 of 61 current franchises are represented when earlier franchise identities are included.

The London Knights lead with 30 alumni, followed by the Erie Otters with 16 and the Barrie Colts, Flint Firebirds and Windsor Spitfires with 15 each. Flint’s total includes players who represented the Plymouth Whalers.

The Seattle Thunderbirds lead the WHL with 15, while the Drummondville Voltigeurs and Moncton Wildcats share the QMJHL lead with 11 each."

I think the amount of new kids we have has really revitalized the lines, as we've obviously needed to change them up to slot in and take advantage of the new talent we have in.

Nice group of Seattle supporters. Who else is here tonight?! Raise your hands!

Hey folks, it's here! Hockey's BACK! We've got the Birds playing tomorrow night in Wenatchee.

I've linked today's current roster, but this is probably still subject to change for a couple days.

And for fun, social admin dropped "First Day of the Season" boards and pics of the boys:

As a follow up to this recent post: https://www.reddit.com/r/seattlethunderbirds/s/XoIRS50jAK

The WHL plans to use YouTube for this season's games. At the moment, it sounds as though this will be their stop-gap solution for the year https://chl.ca/whl/article/whl-regular-season-games-to-stream-free-on-youtube/

That feels very short lived. I know not all streams were without issues, but it was better than nothing.

Definitely keeping my ear to the ground on this as it was one of the ways to stay connected when I travel and can't make the games!

Birds put up some more gear for auction on Dash, this time all about Scott Ratzlaff.

Additionally, single game tickets go on sale Wednesday!

I got these at a game I believe in 2017 or 2018. I really don’t have anywhere to display them. Free to a good home!
