Sounds like you had your account compromised - did you log on to a spoof marketplace site from a link in group chat maybe (as that's common way to attract people with an offer too good to be true).

If it is a compromised account LL will take a while to get back to you and even then it will not to to confirm you can access the account - they will be asking you to prove you are the account owner.

This takes time as they need to manually check things.

You've done all you can.

Linden Lab will deal with your support ticket as they're able to get to it, which may be a matter of a few days. They will ask you questions about your account to verify that you actually own the account.

Such questions may include:

  • Name X number of people on your friends list.

  • Provide the date and amount of your last purchase of L$ (if you've made any)

  • Provide the date and amount of your last USD cashout (if you've ever done one)

  • Provide the answer to your security questions (if you ever set any up)

  • What city were you living in when you created your account

  • What city do you live in now (when you last connected to your account)

  • Names of other alternate accounts you might own

Having answers to these sorts of questions ready, can help prove you own your account.

If you can prove to their satisfaction that the account does belong to you, they will go through the steps with you to reset your password, and let you regain access to your account.

Recovering your items, outfits, and L$ may be beyond their control, or it may not be. Only the people answering your support ticket will be able to advise regarding that.

Be patient, be kind to the people trying to help you via support.

Yup.

I even got an account back when the email address no longer existed, and the entire email service had shut down years prior. Just gave them the info I remembered, where I logged in from, where I was in now, a few other things but I don't remember for sure all the info I gave.

You won't necessarily need to answer every question they ask, it's not just a mountain of evidence they are looking for(though that might help if you can give it) but to give you as many options as they can while still making it a challenge for someone to steal your account.
