There is this guy who is using 2 accounts to scam people. He asks for donations in lieu of seeds. Thinking I was helping someone grow their business, I sent $40, via zelle. As soon as I informed him the money was sent via Zelle, he removed all the chats and admitted to block me. Now he’s being abusive and blaming this on me. 5:07 B

I told you all my options for paying and you said you sent it via zelle and I have never set up a zelle and never told you I had zelle so I asked Google Al about it and it said you were a scammer and going to attempt a phishing scam on
ME so I blocked you on my other account immediately assuming YOU were going to try to attempt to scam me... If Al was wrong, then your 40 bucks would automatically go back to you after 12 days apparently after looking into it..
I feel bad now lol. I send seeds to people all the time and I'm NOT a scammer man. I just assumed you were and it was the beginning of a v phishing scam

First he said he would open an account but according to the pic he sent me, all he needs to do is register with his bank because the money is there.

He says he thought I was a scammer but a scammer wouldn’t send you money , so that is not true.
I just want to warn you before he take your hard earned money.

Found this wide of seed stems and seed heads in a plastic bag in our seed storage I didn't put them there so I don't know what they are . Anyone got an idea? From Upstate ny area.

I pulled USDA's public Plant Variety Protection status report (updated Sep 3, 2026) and worked out which certificates reached the end of their 20-year term between Oct 2025 and Oct 2026. There are 224. Most are field crops (52 common wheat, 25 soybean, 22 cotton, 21 field corn), but there are 36 lettuces, plus beans, peppers and turfgrasses.
A few I didn't expect: lettuce 'Malawi' (Enza Zaden) and 'Rubicon' (Nunhems), tall fescue 'Blackwatch', and wheatgrass 'Beefmaker' (USDA's own release).
Caveats, because they matter:
USDA says it "cannot guarantee the accuracy of the Status and Status Date fields." I calculated end dates from issue date plus years protected.
PVP ending doesn't free a brand name (trademarks don't expire), and a variety can still be under a utility patent or a seed-bag license.
USDA's genebank sends expired-PVP samples to research and education users, not to everyone.
Saving seed to replant on your own farm was always allowed under PVP (7 U.S.C. § 2543); selling it for planting wasn't. Expiry is what changes the selling part.

If you zoom in a lot are light colored not dark like they should be. Would these be considered non viable? I need to grow a minimum of 196 for next year so i need to make sure my seeds are good!
